I used to be able to do with discs DVD-R data discs, now iv changed my hard drive and my computer only recognizes CD - R when I try to burn data?
"Please insert the disk" error message when I try to burn data to DVD-R disc but works fine when burning data on CD - R. Also, he can't read and data DVD - R disks, I made from the same computer in the past with the old hard drive, is my new hard drive, missing some sort of driver or something? Windows XP computer bought from Dell about 4-5 years (Dell 5150). He let me play commercial CD, burn CDs and burn data on CD - r. I could go into my Windows 10 and reset the player to the letter that Lightroom has given at the beginning of the external hard drive. However, I know this can happen again, if I connect any stick USD or another device, while the external hard drive is not connected to my laptop. I found the information that I can do the new designation of the final drive by choosing a letter it is 1/2 way or higher in the alphabet. I would like to turn an external hard drive on a strong letter, warns we hope this previous problem. My question is, if I already have a lot of pictures on this external hardrive with the designation of the current drive, how it becomes a higher letter and have 6 Lightroom recognizes files, now under the new designation of drive letter without having to go to each photo individually and manually force Lightroom 6 find each photo. So in Windows, you can select a drive like q letter (or any other letter you want only towards the end of the alphabet)

Problem with Toshiba Stor.E D10, 1 of 5 TB external HARD drive and eSata connector

I have a problem with eSata HARD drive. I have a toshiba Stor.E D10, 1, 5 to external HDD. When I plug it into the connector back eSata, Windows 7 recognize this and I can read it, but when I try to write about it, it freezes and I have to unplug it. When I connect the Toshiba Stor.E D10 with the USB cable, everything works fine. The problem is when I use the eSata connector. I have updated the BIOS to the latest without any improvement. In the BIOS, I tried esata IDE and AHCI controller without success.
My system: Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate, card mother Gygabyte GA-X58A-UD3R(rev. 2.0)

I am using v1.5 Photos. On my Macbook HARD internal disk fills up very quickly. Fortunately, I have a nice external 1 TB drive and I would like to:
(1) move all my photos on the external drive and direct Photos program so search the folder on the external HARD drive to find all photos.
(2) when I import pictures from my camera in the future, that the Mac them automatically in the folder of photos on the external HARD disk and not keep fill the space limited on my Mac small disk internal.
Is this possible? I remember that I was able to do it with iTunes years when I used a Powermac with 4 x internal HDD of various sizes. iTunes has been able to see the music on each disk files and present them to me as a single list of iTunes.
I'm not interested in using iCloud at all, I have everything on HARD drive and memory sticks and I am satisfied that, as it provides all the storage I need and I only use a computer for my work.

HPdv6 mobile 2119tx. After replacing hard drive and loading the recovery discs (which I did) successfully, now it reboot something messages cannot locate the disc or load bootable disc (sorry, don't remember the exact wording, but back to the beginning). Could this be because I replaced a 650 GB drive with a 500 GB drive.

Normally you cannot use recovery on a smaller hard disks.
But you should be able to boot from the first disc of recovery at least and see what happens.
To do this, you must have the first disc in your dvd player.
Restart the PC and at the beginning of your homescreen HP, tap key ESC then choose one time start in the menu. Since then, select the DVD drive and continue.
If the ESC key method does not work, press the F9 key instead.
It depends on the type of BIOS in your PC (normally according to his age) which key you need to type.

· My old Win XP computer died - it is completely unusable. I bought a new PC with Win 7 Pro and 1 TB. I still have the old HARD DRIVE (250 GB) which I have attached on the new computer using an external enclosure supports SATA drives. The external hard drive is connected to the computer in USB 3.0. I checked that the new computer can see the external hard drive. (I also used for backups by changing the hard drive with a 2 TB drive 'mass storage' - that works.)
I searched the internet for possible solutions and found no help. If the transfer of files from Microsoft would change the disc to analyze, it would be simple. But if I select the OLD computer it scans the disk I'm on (new) - automatically.
Is there anyone who has had the same problem? He must be because computers die all the time and people buy new computers - who then, somehow, they get the former transferred files. I could do it manually, but that wouldn't change the settings. Last resort would be to buy an old computer XP (SATA), replace the drive. Transfer the files, and then sell this computer.
You may be able to recover your data files, but I hope that you will set up your new system to automatically backup a second internal hard drive or an external USB hard drive.
This suggestion may not work, but it's worth a try. Buy an external USB drive enclosure. They come in two sizes 2.5 "for the portable computer drives and 3.5" for desktop disks. You can purchase adapters for 3.5 "envelopes so that they can also be used with a portable player. Place the hard drive in the enclosure and connect to a USB port of another computer. My computer with two hard drives and 2 starting systems has the car crash in the solid state. When I got the new drive and tried to restore from time capsule, I lost some data. How can I see what backups are on the time capsule? My laptop is also saved to the time capsule. Everything is in 'Data' when I look through the Airport utility. I think that the information that I've lost are still there since I was a Capsule 3 to.

Open the sparsebundle in Finder and keep open the subfolders until you get to the backup of each separate hard drive...

Portege 3500 - change HARD drive and deal with overheating CPU
I recently bought a Portege 3500 without any support of discs etc. It doesn't have a CD or a floppy disk. It has 2 problems, I want to trouble.
(a) HARD drive is obviously out because it is by clicking on me, and it presents a permanent red section during defragmentation.
(b) the fans are at full power all the time, and the CPU is running slowly.(a) I had a new HARD drive that I reformatted on other laptops. I put a base Windows XP on this HARD drive and uploaded on my external that I attach to the Portege. I used "transfer... Assistant "to transfer files, folders, and settings to the new HARD drive but I don't know how to install the old Windows XP OS Tablet it." I have the product key of Microsoft for the operating system. Any suggestions would be helpful.
(b) I believe that the transfer of heat from the CPU on the radiator is a failure, causing the processor to hot and therefore slows down. I already solved the same problem with a Dell by coating the top of the CPU with Artic Silver 5 paste. I cannot, however to get the CPU in the same Portege so I removed all the screws down. Does anyone know how to split the case without causing damage?

My advice make a library of portable split is a general guide, but as such, it has all sorts of details that you may not need.
I guess you have previously installed iTunes such as library files were in the usual place of C:\Users\ < user > \Music\iTunes but the media were on an external drive, for example in X:\ < Media folder >, and no longer have access to the old library, or are perhaps new to iTunes, then so be it you will need to start over again. If, then hold down the SHIFT key when you launch iTunes. Keep now until you see a prompt to create or choose a library. Click on create and make a new library at the root of the external drive, i.e. as X:\iTunes , where X is the drive letter of the external drive. Once this operation is complete, use Windows Explorer to move the existing media folder within the X:\iTunes\iTunes Media, rename the folder that you moved as say other media to avoid any possible confusion in the future, select the menu with Ctrl + B bar and use file > add folder to library, to import the file to other media in the library. Will everything that iTunes adds to the library be shuffled around. All that remains in the other media will be happy that iTunes does not know what to do with such incompatible media or album art carried out by Windows Media Player. You can sift throigh this, take what you want and use replacements for all players what you keep.
