Microsoft reinstalled vista and my programs saved to the windows.old file how do I reinstall them.
You reinstall the same way you installed them the first time. You can't recover programs from Windows.OLD folder.

I'm tired of dealing with him, so I used my Dell disk to reinstall Vista. I did not choose the repair option first. I chose to do a clean install. When I got to the last step where it says "Complete the Installation", it gave me an error message telling me that the "Windows.old" file is corrupted. She is still ongoing as I type this message. My question is how to run disk utility to check without an operating system installed? Use the "Diagnostic" option when I boot the disk from Dell? Any ideas on how I can get reinstalled Vista?

Sorry to say that my bet is that you never gain access to these files again.
When you created the files encrypted, Windows creates a key for decryption to access these files and stored, encrypted in your certificate store. When your system crashed, the decryption key has crashed with it. Without this key, you will never have access to your encrypted files. If you have recovered from a backup image-style, you should be able to access these files. If you've recovered by installing Windows from the installation disc, then you have created a new and different installation with different Secure ID (SID) and a certificate store empty. A recovery agent will only retrieve encrypted files that were created after that recovery agent was in place - as a new certificate. What you really need to do, it's your old certificate to restore the backup that you created when you started using EFS. The following article is mandatory for anyone using the EFS file system. Special attention to the paragraph entitled "why you should back up your certificates.

I just had this problem myself, with a clue consuming 107/278 GiB!
Here's the trick:(1) search for "Indexing Options" (under "settings"). Open it.(2) search for 'services' (or run "services.msc") and find "Windows Search". Stop the service.(3) remove the Windows.edb file4) click on "Change" in the Panel "Indexing Options" already open, then click on "Erase and rebuild" for the index. You can also specify another drive to store the index on.Hope that helps. -

KoljaI had a similar problem with Adobe Acrobat Pro X, where the menu bar would not appear. I was able to get menu bar to appear if I resized the document by placing the pointer on the right, left, top or bottom of the document (you see a double arrow), and then by clicking and dragging.
The problem was definitely solved for all documents by opening Adobe Acrobat without having to open a document. Then click on Edit in the menu bar. Then click on Preferences. In the preferences of the box click on full screen at the top left. Then find the section Navigation screen complete. Check the box show the Navigation bar. Finally click on OK at the bottom right.
I hope this helps someone and saves a lot of frustration.

Windows cannot do natively. A file name is simply a file name and you can not prevent the registration of a file based on its extension.
You can change file associations, such as a double click on a file with a particular extension will not automatically launch an application given, however, but that's not what you asked.

I'm integrating ATG 10.1.2 Catalogue of products with short. I am successfully able to publish data from ATG to store short CASE file and run the update of the base.
I used the model of integration of catalog:
Precedence.source_dimension_name, Precedence.source_dimval_spec, Precedence.target_dimension_name, Precedence.type
I think I understood the problem I had. FCM correctly reads the precedence_rules.csv file, but it supports the priority rules for the dimensions of the root level. I could create a prule for "product.category" (it is NOT a dimension of autogen) which is a dimension created by the components of indexing of the ATG.
It supports mapping prules for dims created in dev.studio and those created from on the side of the ATG and vice versa.
When I tried to add the "product.category/accessories" as the size of the CBC in the priority rule, it does not work. "Accessories" are a dimval under "product.category" and it doesn't have an entry in the record of the CASE of the application schema store. I guess that's the problem that prevents me to add prules to the dimval.
If someone managed to create the rule of priority for a dimval, let me know.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What's up guys?, I have a Compaq Presario supplied with the Windows Vista operating system, 32-bit. I backed up all my drivers on DVD and I downloaded a clean copy of Vista using an ISO on a DVD burner. I reinstalled the new copy put in my original product key, and he agreed. I reinstalled my drivers and all seems to work fine. I transferred all my data, mp3, jpeg, etc. for Flash readers and/or new programs on the new OS. I have a desktop HP Pavilion P6540F under Windows 7 Home Premium. A few days ago there was a problem with windows that virtually wiped out my OS and I had to restore my computer to factory settings. Before restoring my computer I backed up all my files on a disk. After Reinstalling windows, I placed the drive with all my files recovery on it in my computer and running the recovery .exe file that has started downloading my files. All of this worked perfectly well but the problem is that these files only stored in a file on my desktop and has not been restored to its original location. Is it possible to get these files to restore to the correct locations on my computer without having to manually, drag the files to their old location? Honestly, I don't know where many of these files were located before the restoration and many items such as preferences for certain programs are impossible for me to move. Thanks for the help.
The backup that is used to recover only restores the files in a folder, leaving the owner to move. I agree, not the application of backup more useful, but better than nothing I guess.
