Quite why a question about Windows Live Mail would belong to a forum for Windows 7 performance and Maintenance I can't understand...

Windows Live Mail is no not part of Windows, it's actually a part of Windows Live Essentials.

  • In Windows Live Mail if you open an attachment, then hit 'save' where will the file?

I have Windows 7, I use windows live mail. Sometimes I get the attachments, Word, Excel, ect. If I opened the mail document and press 'Save' I can't find out where it records. It does not save in any file temp that I see.

    Help, please.

The file will be located in a folder somewhere in
    C:\Users\ (YourAccount) \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet
    Files\

    "\AppData" is normally hidden
"\Temporary Internet Files" is normally only hidden protected by operating system
    file

You need to remove the check mark (if they are hidden) in Windows Explorer:
Organize - See the file & search - Options

    Good luck to find, however.

The right way is to save the first attachment and open it
the location of recording, if you want to change.

  • When I open Windows Live Mail he asks me to sign in every time. I want to connect automatically.

    original title: Windows Live Mail

When I open Windows Live Mail a pop up appears asking me to sign in to Windows Live Mail.  I don't want to do and would like to stop the appearance of the application.  I'm perfectly happy using Live Mail for my mail, but don't want or don't need any interaction with other Windows Live services. How can I stop this request appearing as it's quite boring?

To use Windows Live Mail and this Web site, you need a Windows Live ID, and looking for the password ID to get your email address. The information and click "save my password". You can remove an account, if you do not want to get the emails of her by clicking on the blue box which opens a few choices. Choose options > accounts, find the account and delete it. Use another program such as Mozilla Thunderbird and set up accounts if you want Live Mail does not support the account you want to use.

    I hope this helps!

whenever I try to open an attachment in windows live mail, it freezes and stops working.  How can I fix it?

I found the solution...  I have DAP (download accelerator more) and that was the cause of the problem.  I uninstalled it and now it works fine

  • Windows live mail will no longer allow an attachment to send

Started having problems with sending attachments with windows live mail.  It started 2 days ago. We have windows XP, I can send an attachment by hotmail and also by windstream.net, but not by windows live mail.  All solutions?  What will happen if I uninstall windows live mail, and then re - install.  I would lose all my e-mail if I did?  Spent 2 days looking for an answer to this.  As far as I know, nothing changed in the last days.  I sent attachments via windows live mail for years.

Thanks anyway, but I have advanced and removed and reinstalled windows live mail.  everything seems to work now.

  • Cannot open an attachment in Windows Live Mail 2012.

    Original title:

I can't open attachments in Windows Live Mail 2012.  On right click on it I just get the option 'open', not 'open with '.  I think that it may be trying to use a path or a program, but don't know how to change it.  Any suggestions?

It's weird, the Mail app does not keep a separate list of file associations, it should just pull some Manager by default is the type of file by name.  I agree with your idea, kill it and reinstall it and determine if it starts to behave properly.

  • XP SP3, and Windows Live Mail, when I receive a file .htm as an attachment to an e-mail, it's a file 'blocked '. How can I prevent this from happening.

Win XP SP3 and Windows Live Mail. I get emails from my office surveillance video. The e-mail has an attachment '.htm '. When I double click the file .htm in the email, it starts Internet Explorer 8 and must upload a short video clip and display it. The fly in the soup seems to be the fact that the .htm file is "locked".

He can be unlocked by saving it to disk and using Windows Explorer to display its properties, and then click the button "Unblock" - but it's just a "work around".

From what I read on Microsoft sites, the .htm files are not considered to be dangerous - or are? So why are they blocked? And how do I prevent it?

    I listen carefully!

Thank you very much Halima, maybe you helped me to focus, in any case I eventually find a switch in Windows Live Mail, which was causing my pain.

In Windows Live Mail, go to TOOLS-online the SECURITY OPTIONS-online SECURITY => and UNCHECK the line "do not allow opening or saving attachments that could contain a virus.

Problem solved - thank you for your time and effort.

  • On Windows Live Mail when I open an email and there is a link, the link does not open, I get an error message on each email that I try clicking on located in every email that has a link.

Attached are 2 different links to 2 different emails.

1 Windows cannot trouver...'/ / www.netflix.com/ recommendations House? Inktrk = EMP & g = FA8B405D8CAE5166C5C4D... Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again.
    2 Windows cannot find... "missouriquilt.co.us1.List-manage.com/track/click?u=bee69e9bfcd571aa64451a112&id=3...
Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.
It's only 2 emails with links that are supposed to allow me to click and then lead me to their site. Any email I open that has a link, I get a similar error message with the name of a company or the link, I try to open. I have no idea how I got it or how to get rid of. Would appreciate any help you can give me.
    Thank you

  • Windows Photo Gallery. How can I change the settings in the Windows Photo Gallery to automatically open the image without going to the index first?

Windows Photo Gallery.  How can I change the settings in the Windows Photo Gallery to automatically open the image without going to the index first?

Additional information: there are 2 computers that I use on the first Gallery Photo of Windows will open the image and allow me to use the left and right buttons to scroll through the rest of the photos in the folder, that's what I want.

On the 2nd computer when I open an image it will open the Windows Photo Gallery in an index with thumbnails of the displayed record.  How can I change so that it opens the same thing as the first computer?

I did the following on both computers; Right-click on the image and select open with...--> choose the default program--> go--> Program Files, Windows Photo Gallery, but it will be open always differently on computer 2.

Both computers use Windows Vista 32-bit.

    Thanks in advance.

    Australian salvation,

This would happen if the file associations are corrupted on the computer, try method to set Photo Gallery Windows as the default program for opening files jpeg or png below image types.

    (a) open default programs by clicking the Start button, click default programs.

    (b) click on associate a type of file or Protocol with a program

    (c) in the following list of file protocol search jpeg and make sure that you have associated with the program that uses it and then check if it works.

Change the programs that Windows uses by default

  • Windows Live Mail - problems attach jpg images

I have Windows 7 and using WIndows Live Mail 2011 for email.

With other e-mail programs when I would send photos in an email I could select my photos and send them to email (he would ask if I wanted to reduce them) and then I was able to send the email with the photo as an attachment.

Now what they do not physically attach but I get a sort of sky disc album (more email are not sent when it does). I can attach a photo if I first open the email and attach a photo like this (but I can't resize a group of images easily in this way). How can I get rid of this thing of sky drive so the pictures will simply attach to my email?

  • I can't open .eml in windows live mail. prohibited file type?

I get mail from a conact and I can't open attachments. When I try, I get a message that it's a "forbidden .eml file Type" and may not open. I have Windows 7 amd and the 64 bit OS. What is the solution please?

There is an option in the Security of the security options of reading worksheet tab do not allow the opening or the recording attached that may contain a virus. This option can cause the symptoms you see.

If you had posted in the forum dedicated to Windows Live Mail as Brian suggested that you do, you would have been asked to give your version of the software. How do I access the security options varies from one version to another. In WLMail to find one that you are using, a press on ALT - H. If it doesn't show you the version and the build number, press on escape to two times, and then Alt - F B.
