Open Documents, right-click in the empty area of the preview pane and
Select "New > file.» Name the new folder as you wish.

In fact, it should be a question. Join the program that you have problems with. The subject was discussed several times as you should have found examples when you did your research.

  • Deleting the files corrupted in the recycled folder

I am running Windows XP and I have tried to run the defrag program.  The program will not work until the end because of corrupted files (4) in the recycled folder.  I can view the list of files by going to the command prompt, but no action that I have tried there will allow me to delete these files.  How can I delete these files in the recycled folder?

You have left out some important information and may not have read material thread the Tom very carefully.

Represents the drive on which this basket located in NTFS or FAT32 format?

On NTFS, XP drives, the name of the file from the Recycle Bin is DRIVE: \Recycler

On the FAT, XP drives, the name of the file from the Recycle Bin is DRIVE: \Recycled

(The name change again in Vista and Win 7, but you said you have XP)

If the drive is NTFS, it was converted to FAT32 or formatted directly?

If you used the CONVERT command to convert a drive to the FAT format on a disk formatted in NTFS, you will always have the directory drive: \Recycled old, but he is no longer the basket.  If this is the case, you can delete the whole directory (if ensure that a directory C:\Recycler exist, just in case) using rmdir /s in a command prompt window.

You can read all documents under the "basket" at http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_abc.htm

There are several methods to remove otherwise undeleteable files.  In ascending order of the drawbacks:

    Method 1
Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)
Type the following commands in the command prompt window and press ENTER after each line

    CD C:\Recycled
    ATTRIB s h - r *. *
    Del *. *

If the last command was NOT successful, then

    Method 2
1 always open method command prompt window, start the Task Manager
Find explorer.exe in the processes list, right-click and select end process
Return to the command prompt window and see if del *. * will now delete the files
If the files are deleted, return to the Task Manager, click on file > new task (run...), type explorer.exe, and then click OK.

If the files still do not remove, then

    Method 3
Redemarrer restart in Safe Mode, and then follow the steps in method 1

If the files still do not remove, then

    Method 4
Download the iso file to a live Linux such as Knoppixdistribution.
Burn a CD using a tool like the free ImgBurn
Boot from the CD (you may need to change the boot order in your BIOS)
    Remove files from Linux

  • LabVIEW 2014 app installer doesn't create files % 2Ffiles in the documents and does not create the registry entries at least as administrator

the LabVIEW 2014 32 bit app installer doesn't create folders/files in personal documents folder and does not create the registry entries in hkey_current_user\software except as an administrator.

    It's a true statement.

You must change the windows policies, user restrictions (not recommended), normally the register (write) access is limited to normal users.

  • Folder permissions in Windows 7 - a program that creates a file always has the authority to check the size of this file?

    Hello

Where I work, we have a phone call, saving application that creates records of calls as .wav files.

Before placing each record in long-term storage, the application creates a copy of the file (which is smaller) MP3 and then made a calculation of the free space to ensure that there is place in the long term for the newly created file storage.

As part of the application must check the size of the MP3 file that he had just created and - I thought - calculation of space under Windows 7 that determination of the size of the file is sometimes a failure.

(I think I understand, is that a .net function allows to determine the size of the file.)

    My query...

If an application has sufficient privileges to create a file in a folder on the drive C: of the PC default also always have the right to determine the size of this file?

Or are these two completely separate rights?

For example, is it possible to have with no other rights granted write access?

    Thank you very much.

The order of the questions, you asked:

    Yes

    Yes

    NO.

It is indeed possible to give the file 'write' - access to the account, but not 'read' - access. However, even in this case the account can determine the size of the file.

Log in under the account you are using for the conversion allows you to confirm my answers. To see the size of a file, use Windows Explorer or the Console command "dir".

  • Windows search fails to find the files in the Documents folder

Original title: Windows 7 search finds no files, even though all the settings have been verified and the search index has been rebuilt

I recently bought a new Dell laptop Studio 1558 with Windows 7 Home Premium and moved through several hundred documents from my old PC to the new folder 'My Documents'.

As many others have found, Windows Search has been completely useless. She seems to have no problem finding files in the music folder or image, but anything in the document library is invisible to the it - even if I get in a subfolder small for a file name I see just in front of me, Windows Search will announce that "no element not corresponding to your search.

I took a number of steps so far to fix the problem, which none have worked:

    1. I checked which locations are indexed for search and ensured that the document library is among them (as well as all of my C drive).

    2. I checked that appropriate file extensions (.doc .docx .pdf, etc.) are all selected from the "File Types" list in indexing options (although I noticed that 'Description of filter' for .pdf bed "Registered IFilert is not found" - not this problem with Word documents).

    3. I have deleted and rebuilt the search index.

    4. I ran the troubleshooting Windows 7 Search tool, which reports that it cannot find any problems.

    5. I have read that some problems with Windows 7 search can be solved by changing a registry key (http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-fix-windows-7-search-problems/) but when I navigate to the folder in my registry, only following three keys are here (not the one mentioned in the difficulty):

    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderTypes\ {0B2BAAEB-0042-4DCA-AA4D-3EE8648D03E5}
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderTypes\ {36011842-DCCC-40FE-AA3D-6177EA401788}
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderTypes\ {59BD6DD1-5CEC-4D7E-9AD2-ECC64154418D}

A couple of things, I said - if I create a new word document and save it, Windows Search seems to immediately get back on it and is able to find. I also noticed that at first when I opened one of the word documents that have been transferred over the old PC and then closed it again, Windows Search picked up on it and could find it. So I went to try to open and close then all of my documents (an arduous task...), but the subject to halfway through Windows Search has ceased to be able to find them.

All Word documents using Microsoft Word 2007 in .doc or .docx format, although the problem also applies to Excel, PDF and image files, so I don't think that the problem is with the word itself.

I have tried everything I can think so far, including all the solutions, I could see suggested in previous discussions. I really need the search function working to effectively use my laptop so that any help would be welcome!

    Thank you, Jack

Santosh thanks, I checked the permissions for the appropriate files and SYSTEM was present, which doesn't seem to be the problem. However, I found a solution that might work for other people are having the same problem.

I noticed that if I changed the location of the files, Windows search suddenly seems to become aware that they existed and then indexed and followed them correctly - even if they were subsequently moved back to the original location. I just created a temporary folder outside my library of documents and then each subfolder in the folder my documents him and then come back, one by one. It was a bit laborious but the problem solved - I know not why it worked, but all the old files are now indexed and appear correctly when you use Windows Search, and it seems not to have any problems, follow-up of the newly created files.

    Cheers, Jack

  • Cannot delete files locked in the temp folder

I emptied regularly delete all files in the temp via the function folder in the Tools menu of IE9 and also by searching on folder and deleting the contents of the temporary Local AppData file in the users folder.

Ten days ago, I found there are some files in the folder temporary AppData that were locked and could not be removed. This only happens in a user account, and this isn't an administrator account. Opening of properties on any of the files by checking the Security tab, I find I am wierdly the sole owner of the file, but have limited permissions. I tried to change the permissions to get total control and then remove the file, but that did not work, nor has anything else I could think of. This included the stop of all open applications and disconnects all users.

    Other file properties:

-Open with "Windows Shell Commo" - little matter that is.

-Similar names to ~ DF38C18158B32C1039. TMP

    -Attributes: ATI

-The size is small (512 bytes, for example)

    -No previous versions

Normally the files in this folder have names like this except without the ~.

After having in vain tried everything I could think of to delete these files, I downloaded Revo Uninstaller, who managed to remove all the files locked in the record at the time.  However, the problem resurfaced shortly after and this time Revo Uninstaller did not work.

I spent a few days of research on the net and try different options without success until I stumbled on a recommendation to go into Control Panel, search for Java, open its settings menu and refuse authorisation for Java to back up the data on my computer.  It worked - I went back in the folder, the files were no longer locked, I was able to remove them as I usually do and I had no other problems with the locked files. Until yesterday.

I double-checked the settings of Java to ensure that authorization still denied to save data on my computer. I don't remember now if I set permission to refuse when I checked again. I tried then to Revo Uninstaller again, but he failed again to remove these files locked. I noticed today that the date for all files is last July 15.  It seems (so far) no new files have been generated, but I still cannot delete locked files 51 of my computer.  My biggest concern, obviously, is security.  I don't want to locked files including origins, functions and activities that I do nothing on my computer, especially if I'm unable to remove them.

I want to know how to remove these files, what caused do them appear in the first place and how to prevent them from happening again.

    Thank you!

Thanks for this suggestion, Oberwald. It came a little too late, however.  Finally, it occurred to me to try my anti-virus software file shredder function and he managed to remove the locked files.

I believe now these locked files were likely due to some kind of malware - after shredding, my desktop Recycle bin flashed repeatedly icon when I shut down the computer. Also, after have logged you in today, I find everything runs much faster and no sign of keylogging.  Seem to be back to normal.

I was able to save the link and it will try in the future if necessary.

    Thanks again!

  • A link to the files without using the FScommand folder

Is there a way to bind an executable Flash to doc, pdf, and other exe files without using a 3rd third party tool or the FScommand subfolder? I want all the files in the root folder. Is there a solution to actionscript (Flash 8)?

    Thanks for any help.

Just tried it myself, and in fact, now there must be something inside the fscommand that blocks execution of vbs. Security? I'm sorry.
My advice would be to use .bat files, but to write
    Start c:\test.txt
    instead of only
    c:\test.txt
The DOS window still not open, but immediately close again, given that the start command returns immediately.
    All the best

  • What is the q2tw177e.default file located in the profile folder

The application data folder, windows xp, has a folder called q2tw177e.default, located in the profile folder. I know nothing with this label when searching google. Makes me suspicious of this folder. Nobody knows anything about. Thank you.

There is nothing to fear from this folder.

This is the real Firefox profile folder that stores your personal data.

    There are two of them:

    • C:\Documents and Settings\ < user > < profile > \Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\.
    • C:\Documents and Settings\ < user > Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ < profile > \Local Settings\Application.

The latter is used for the cache of navigation and a few other files.

See also the about: cache for the location of the cache page.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

    • Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: opens showing the file

I tried two programs of file recovery: Recuva and Pandora Recovery

Two programs from many files deleted my involuntary removal of the My Documents folder.  However, I expect that the recovered files will be recovered in their original folders that were in My Documents folder deleted.  Instead, the files have been recovered as separate and unrecovered files in their original folders. Is there a recovery program that would recover the files into their original folders that were in the deleted Documents folder?  Otherwise, it seems I have to open about 7000 files and sort them in their folders respective orginal. This seems to be an extremely time consuming and difficult task. Can someone help me? Thank you.  John G.

I think you'll be lucky to get anything.  Where a file is no not part of the file - it's the metadata stored elsewhere, so it is not possible to recover the files to their previous location.  In the future, it would be much easier to restore files if you have a backup.
