I want to give a permanent Player ID removable hard drive

I have several removable hard drives. What I want to do is to put it up so that when I plug a drive in

the computer, it will use a drive letter of my choice, not what drive letter is free.

Example; Removable disk ID 1 would drive X: 2 = y and so on.

Is this possible?

Go in run, type: diskmgmt.msc

Msc, L.click the disk, go to actions, all, search & select: "change path /"

name' set did. In addition, select the 'active' brand if it exists.

No Lightroom does not use a different catalog.

We discuss records, are we not? In the original catalog, you have a folder with one? mark, say C:\Photos, and you used your operating system to move it to F:\Photos. Lightroom has this record showing under the C:\ drive. As soon as you make the reconnection, Lightroom indicates the folder in the drive F:\.

  • I'm running Vista Basic with 368 GB free space I want to know if I can partition my hard drive, allocating 200 Gb. to run my computer & HOW?

I have 1 GB of RAM, my friend broke his computer (or someone had to do it) which gives half of his memory of his PC.

How & I can do the same thing with 368 GB in my memory, that is to say:-using 200 GB @ least?

    Hello

narrowing of your hard drive is not more RAM, which is the memory of primany

you are confused as to what the memory is

disk space used to be called secondary memory

but this secondary memory storage only; not used to improve performance issues

    If you just want to have 2 scores on your hard disk, which does not improve performance read this;

  • HP Pavilion a6000: I have HP Pavilion a6000 and want to add a new WD 1 TB Hard Drive blue

I have a HP Pavilion a6000 and you want to add a new WD Blue 1 TB hard and clone (including OS) the old 250 GB hard drive to the new drive and then use the old drive for music.  What should I do?

    You are welcome.

Sorry, but I can't help you with the question about the SATA motherboard ports - hopefully someone else can help you here.

However, for cloning, you can use a USB cable to SATA, with which you can connect your hard drive to the USB port on the computer and transfer all the data from the old to the new drive.

  • Transfer Media Player on a hard drive external?

I run XP and bought an external hard drive to my music collection.  Is it possible to transfer the Media Player itself on the hard drive external?  I'd rather play on Media Player on those of the drive, that there is none.  Choose a record and that's all that you can play at the same time; No shuffle or several artists in one sitting.

    Any suggestions, anyone?

There is no need to transfer WMP itself hard disk external, WMP can perfectly handle music on other players.

In WMP, please press F3 to display add it to the library, make sure that Advanced Options are displayed and add the folder music on the external hard drive in the list. Now, all the music on the hard drive will be added to the WMP library.

  • Wanting to re use Windows 7 on new hard drive

I have a 1 TB harddrive with the operating system on it and some data. I won a new SSD and install it as my boot drive. My question is can I re-use the software from the 1 to on the new os and then to wipe the partition on the 1 TB. I have the original dvd for installation with the product key, as I do annual wipes of my drive to clean the disc. Thanks in advance.

Yes, as long as you have purchased a retail version of Windows 7, there should not be a problem. OEM version should also work as you use the product key on the label. You may need to activate by phone if you use that key to activate too many times, so I've included this information also.

    Hello Nuccii distinguished Professor

Thanks for the help, yesterday to my external hard drive problem.

can I ask you another tip?

Plug-in two years my PC and I'm very happy, the internal hard disk is set up initially in several parts: OS (C, recovery (D and data (E.))) The latter (E, takes half of the useful space of the hard drive, and does that save as plug-in files.) Often saturated, I delete manually from time to time its content. Is it really necessary? can I mill of space otherwise (reorganizing the partition of en?)

Thank you for the help yesterday in my external hard drive problem.

For two years, I use my PC and I am very happy, the internal hard disk is initially set up in several regions: OS (C: bravohelen:, recovery (D: bravohelen: and data (E: bravohelen:., (E: bravohelen: takes half of the floor of hard drive space and saves only the files that I use often saturated, I manually delete time in time its content is really necessary to him.? can I have this other space (by reorganizing the score?)))))

I assume you mean of personal data on the E partition files. You can delete files from time to time that you no longer need pay the speech of space either removing them or moving them to an external drive. This contributes to the performance of your system.
Don't play with the size of the partitions so d 'avoid d' problems.
Always make a backup of your data files from time to time if FT3 of your system.

I assume you are talking about data files personal on the E partition.  You can remove files at any time that you need more free space by deleting or moving them to an external drive.  It does not help with the performance of your system.
Do not play with the size of partitions in order to avoid potential problems.
Always make a backup of your data at any time files your system failure.
