I want to go back to Firefox 4

Firefox 5 is not compatible with my Roboform. I use this program all the time, and it works with Firefox 4. How can I go back to the previous version of Firefox?

Get off at Firefox 4 firstly uninstall the beta version of Firefox 5, but do not select the option 'remove my Firefox personal data '. If you select this option, it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.

Then you can install the latest version of Firefox 4 available since http://www.mozilla.com/ - it will automatically use your favorite courses, passwords etc.

  • I want to go back to Firefox than Firefox 32 31. How can I do this?

I found that Firefox 32 is not compatible with the theme of Windows 7 desktop that I currently use (high contrast white theme). I tabled this question like a bug on Bugzilla site, but until they get this issue fixed, I want to go back to Firefox 31.

    My questions are:
    1. what I have to uninstall Firefox 32 first, or can I just install Firefox 31 on 32 of Firefox?
    2. get lost (or ruining) my settings of Firefox by doing this?
    3. where can I get Firefox 31?
    4. is there a way I can stop the automatic updates of Firefox does not happen and instead get a prompt?

Thanks for any information, that anyone can give on this subject.

Because the latest versions of Firefox contain the latest security patches, old versions of Firefox may have security or functionality problems. For this reason, we do not recommend downgrade your version of Firefox.

If you want despite any downgrade Firefox, you can download any version of Firefox from here.

Can I ask you why you're decommissioning?

Now, the answers to your questions:

    1. You should be able to simply install Firefox 31.0 and should replace version 32.0.
    2. Your settings should stay the same, however, I would recommend your application data backup in case something goes wrong.
    3. See above
    4. This setting can be changed partners to automatic updates can be found under the tab 'Advanced' from the Options window

Try using the add-on Compatibility Reporter to override compatibility.

Firefox 4 versions are not supported by updates to security that are included in Firefox 5.0 and Firefox 3.6.18. If you go to 'return', use 3.6.18 instead.

I've updated to Firefox 4 and I don't prefer it to Firefox 3, 6, so I want to unupdate. Can you tell me how to do this?

A problem with FF4 is that whenever I opened gmail, after one minute, the view of the screen indicates that it will not work with 64 - bit, it must recharge with 32 - bit.

    Thank you, Steve

No need to go back for this reason. This will help - courtesy of cor-el

Other users should note that Firefox has the public release of the 64-bit only for Mac and Linux versions; not for Windows, still.

  • How to return to the old version of firefox? 17.0 lost all my tabs, I want my tabs back.

There is no compatible version of my Add ons or extensions and I lost a boat load of tabs I had saved and I want them back so I want to go back to the previous version of firefox... I now have the new 17.0 and not happy, I lost all my info and settings

    u need to uninstall firefox...

older version Google Firefox... u should get a link from the site . mozilla.org ... Download the version you want... probly the most current version will work for you... then... and this is important... you disconnect from the internet before u install the old version or firefox will automatically update your installation to 17 FF... install the old version just above what you have now (17 or other)

Once installed, go you ahead and connect to internet...

I just lowered the mark 17 FF FF 16 like this, BC. This is th only way firefox tabs work and I lost Tab Mix Plus...

  • How can I get the old function to choose which page I want to go back to? I run Firefox 8.0.1.

In older versions of Firefox, the back button has a small chip of a button allowing you to return to a specific page, until like 10 pages back. So if you knew that you wanted to go back two or three pages, you don't have to hit the back two or three times, you simply press this button and then select the page you wanted back. Can I have this option in Firefox 8.0.1? Thank you

Click and hold the unified back / next button, or right-click to get the rear / front in the history of this tab.

Or install this extension to get the restored former "drop-marker" button.

  • Bottom Line: I HATE Firefox 4. It gives me all sorts of weird problems not to mention the frequent freezing MAC OS x 10.6.7. I want to go back to the last #3. It has been impeccable. I tried to leave it in the comments, but he would not submit! BUT

  • Do not like and want to go back, or use other products

Do not like the new Firefox and wants to go back, or use other products such as the chrome

None of these methods works to open the Options page:

    • button '3-bar' menu > Options

      • Or if you have moved the Toolbar Options, this is the gear icon
    • Tools menu > Options

      • If you do not normally display the menu bar, press the Alt key to temporarily show

If you get the same error in both directions, your installation of Firefox could be damaged. To do this, I suggest:

    Clean reinstall it

We use this name, but it isn't about deleting your settings, this is to ensure that the program, files are clean (not incompatible, corrupt or exotic code files). As described below, this process does not disrupt your existing settings. Don't uninstall NOT Firefox, that does not need.

    (A) download a fresh Installer for Firefox 40.0.3 of https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ in an ideal location. (Scroll down your preferred language).

    (B) the release of Firefox (if any).

    (C) to rename the program folder, either:

    (Windows 64-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox

    (Windows 32-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files\OldFirefox

    (D) run the installer downloaded to (A). It should automatically connect to your existing settings.

    No improvement with the toolbars?

Note: Some plugins can only exist in this OldFirefox file. If it is missing something essential, present in these files:

    • \OldFirefox\Plugins
    • \OldFirefox\browser\plugins
  • I would go back to Firefox 40.0.2. 40.0.3 ruined functionality of eBay. Can no longer respond to any offers or go to stores or even disconnection.

Since I've just updated to Firefox 40.0.3 I can sign is no longer on (or in I guess) eBay.ca or eBay.com. I can't bid on things. I can't buy things more. The links just won't go there now. I really want to go back to the 40.0.2 version as it WORKED. What the hell did you do to this new. eBay is useless now and I have a number of things that need to be paid for.

I was able to remedy this by saving the Mozilla folder in the "Application Data" (which, as it turns out that didn't need to do this after all). Then, I uninstalled Firefox 40.0.3 and reinstalled Firefox 40.0.2. Now features eBay works again. Able to sign in and out. Buy things. Bid on things. I don't know what were these small changes in the new version, but they TOTALLY VISSE eBay. So I hope you come out with a better update that only that. I made sure my Java and anything else (Flash) was also aware and it did not help. By doing this, it is pretty obvious that the update has been the problem and nothing else.

  • I need to go back to Firefox 30.0

The list of previous builds is not really identify a final release from beta versions. Which file I want to download and install for Win 7 Pro 64 bit OS?

  • Tried to download the last update, no compatible system, now browser does not work even when I tried to download it again. I have bookmarks, I want to come back.

Currently, I have a Mac, version 10.5.8. My Firefox was slow so I tried to download the latest version. When it was downloaded, a message pops up saying that this version of Firefox is not compatible with my system. Well, ' don't quite no fault "I thought and I tired to go back to my previous browser.
But when I went to click on it, there was a large circle with a line through it. I couldn't open anything. Firefox has actually been removed from my computer.
Now it's ok if I can't start Firefox more but I got thousands of bookmarks, compiled over the years that I really want to go back. And I have no idea how to do that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello world.
I have downloaded the old version of firefox, replaced the new with the old and boom! They were there!

Sorry for the runaround. Just goes to show that you should always have backups for things.

    Thanks anyway.
