I want to permanently delete files on an XP computer that I am ignorant. Nothing works and I would appreciate ideas...

I tried to use encryption, but I get a message that this is not a valid Win32 application.

You want to erase everything on the hard drive?  A search on the web for Erase disc will show many programs for it.  I used CopyWipe from TeraByteUnlimited and Active@KillDisk of KillDisk.com .

It's quite common - there are several discussions about this.

Simplest solution is to an empty folder on the disc, and drag it to the trash. LR will then work until you restart. You can empty the trash or not. Don't forget to make a different folder when you restart the computer.

  • Cannot permanently delete files in the trash

I have a file in the Recycle Bin that contains 2 other empty folders. When I try to empty the trash he says that the top folder is in use.  When I try to permanently delete the folders below it says that I don't have permission even if I read / write on all 3.  How can I get rid of these?

Try to restart, then empty the trash.

"Deleting" a file does not actually delete it marks just the space
also available to be used. There are third-party programs that can
sometimes recover deleted files. The problem is that the space used by
the file is likely to be replaced very quickly, and it makes
    the unrecoverable file.

So your chances of successfully recover this file are decent if you
Try it again immediately after the deletion of it and go quickly
downhill from there. If you have used the computer since then (for
example to write this question and read this answer), your chances may
    be very poor now.

But if the file is large enough, it's still worth a try. Stop
using the computer in question immediately, if you have not done
already. Download an undelete program (here, it's a good thing):
http://www.Piriform.com/Recuva but there are many others choose
of; Do a search) on a friend's computer (do not on yours since)
which may overwrite the files you want to restore) and bring it to
your on a CD or thumb drive to try.

If that fails, your only recourse is to bring or send the disc
a company of professional file recovery. This kind of service is very
expensive and may or may not work in your case.

No Lightroom does not use a different catalog.

We discuss records, are we not? In the original catalog, you have a folder with one? mark, say C:\Photos, and you used your operating system to move it to F:\Photos. Lightroom has this record showing under the C:\ drive. As soon as you make the reconnection, Lightroom indicates the folder in the drive F:\.

Oh, and is there a way to do all the files at once? or what I need to do one at a time?

  • I use LR 6.5 on an iMAC. Files RAF Fuji originally, I imported from an SD card worked and exported in the form of PSD and then after saving the files on an external hard drive RAF erased from Lightroom. I now want to import some RAF b HD files

I use LR 6.5 on an iMAC. Files RAF Fuji originally, I imported from an SD card worked and exported in the form of PSD and then after saving the files on an external hard drive RAF erased from Lightroom. I now have to import some RAF of the HD files but LR shows them as dazed out and said that they have already been imported when I hover over the thumbnail. I have this problem when importing files in the same HD Canon CR2, and who have been treated exactly the same. Anyone got a clue as to why this is happening? Thanks, Phil

    Hi Phil,

If Lightroom then reads these as duplicate files, it shows that they are already present in your Lightroom Catalog.

You can search by file name and check if the image is present in your library.

  • Is there a way to export / print to a pdf file which is flat? That is like printing on paper and a new analysis?

Is it possible (if not, there should be MAOIs) export / print to a pdf file which is flat? That is like printing on paper and a new analysis? (I do not want to use this last)

I could list 100 reasons why it would be useful to be able to do this, then please none of the usual "why would you do that?' or ' is not the right way... blah blah blah" which is too often here.

If you are Windows on a machine, you can print the file to the Adobe PDF printer, thus creating a new copy of it.

If you want to convert the entire file of images, then you can export it to the image files (PNG, for example) and then create a new PDF from that.

If you want to flatten the dynamic objects (such as form, comments, links, etc.) then you can use a simple script to do.

There are many ways, your request may be interpreted... If you provide information on what you are trying to achieve it will be easier to help you do.

  • I want to save the files in tif format in windows 7, 64-bit operating system and Office 2010.

    Hi team, support

I'm using windows 7, 64-bit and Office 2010 operating system. I want to save web files(e-invoices) in .tif format.

Because the tif format is only way to download web files(e-invoices) in the download system.

Please tell us how can I save the files directly in tif like Window XP format.

He had no problem when I used Windows XP. I could save the files in tif through Microsoft Office Image Writer as a default format.

A tif file is simply an image

Office 2010 does not include Microsoft Office Image Writer, he made the MS featured xps document writer and send to OneNote (according to the version of office)

You can also think about saving to PDF

  • No access to the personal files of Windows 7 to the disc format hard using a new computer that connects with a USB 2.0 cable to SATA/IDE in Windows 8

I have a HDD that has been removed from a computer that does not work and I try to access my files staff on it. When the drive is connected, it appears as two items in Explorer: 'system Reserved (f)' and 'disk space (g) '. This drive has been connected to my new computer using a USB 2.0 to SATA/IDE cable.

I can see all the program files and public folders in the path (g), but not one of my staff, including music, documents, photos, etc.. The path (f) does not seem to access anything whatsoever.

My new computer using Windows 8, the hard drive, I'm trying to access Windows 7.

This seems to be a security problem, that I have no idea on how to fix. I tried enabling 'total control' in the tab 'security' in the properties, what has not changed the situation.

All solutions/advice would be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hi David,

    1. What is the brand and model of the hard drive?

    2. do you get an error message/code?

3 have you tried to connect the hard drive to a different USB port?

4 have you tried the search for files by using the search function?

This problem may be caused by the virus or files might be hidden.

    Method 1:

Scan the hard drive for viruses:

    Reference:

    Microsoft safety scanner

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

    Method 2:

    Follow these steps and check:

    a. press the Windows key + X

    b. Select Control Panel and folder options.

    c. in the view tab, select Show hidden files, folders and disks and click on apply and then OK.

    d. check if you can see the files on the hard drive.

I hope this helps. If the problem persists, you can write to us and we will be happy to help you further.

  • How to permanently delete files from my hard drive

    Hello!
    Please help me!
I need to know how to delete all the files in my computer permanently and which can not be recovered again.
    For example
Internet search history and any other files in my PC...
    Thank you!

The only way to a crushing and complete the HD format with random laters at least 7 times.  I suspect that you do not want to

Even if deleted there will always be a ghost trail.  My suggestion is that if you do not want your search being considered do not look for these things.

If you give us more information, we are able to provide more help.
