  • XP Professional x 64 Edition for Windows 7 Professional 64-bit upgrade. The best way?

    Hi you all, experts,

I want to spend my edition of Windows XP Professional x 64 (legit) to Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. I don't think I need additional options in 'Ultimate', but I need, I am sure, XP mode that comes with "7 Professional".

Maybe I should mention at this point that I am a member of the program saved Reacondicionador, until you feel that I was fully authorized to "renovate" my own PC.

First of all a question about Windows 7 itself: -.

As I said, I need to be able to run certain programs that have been written for XP. The expression "run several Windows XP programs in Windows XP Mode (separate download) company" in "features" means that I have to pay extra for this option? If Yes, how and where to go?

Is there a reason why my 2D design program which works perfectly under XP Pro x 64 (WOW64) should not be running in the above "Windows XP Mode"?

Furthermore, I believe that I have several choices on how how to get 'XP' ' 7'.

    1) "OEM", the less expensive but, I understand, once installed on a clean hard disk only, that is all. End, end of story! What should I do if my motherboard fails and needs to be replaced? Can I get a replacement license or I have to buy an another OEM?

    2) 'Upgrade' which I believe will overwrite an existing operating system (matter if it's XP or Vista?) and install "Windows 7". Here are all my existing files maintained? If this is not the case, can I 'restore' to a 'Backup' created by XP?

    3) "Retail", the more expensive but, I understand that, can be transferred or installed on a PC refurbished, although it is only has a license valid on a PC at the same time. Is there a difference between "Retail" and "Upgrade"? Can I use one over the other? If so, why? Is there a difference?

    4) authentic software. Is it possible that I can know without having the product in my hands, or installed on my system, whether or not an article supposed to be "Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64 bit" is actually authentic. Is there a relevant question, can I ask which would identify a fake before I part with my money?

Thanks in advance for any help you are able to offer.

    Best regards

No, Windows Virtual PC with Windows XP Mode is free for users of Windows 7 Professional. To learn more:

    http://www.notebooks.com/2009/11/23/using-Windows-Virtual-PC-with-Windows-XP-mode/

Is there a reason why my 2D design program which works perfectly under XP Pro x 64 (WOW64) should not be running in the above "Windows XP Mode"?

Personally, I've used several graphic programs 2D and 3D even on Windows XP Mode, include The Print Shop, PhotoDraw 2000 v2 and they work very well to this topic. The article I linked to provide instructions how to publish your applications, you can use alongside Windows 7 applications.

No, you will need to purchase a new license if your Windows 7 OEM System Builder License fails. You could of course try install and reactivate the components on the new motherboard before buying a new license, because some people have been 'lucky' get it reactive but is is not a guarantee. If the motherboard is replaced based on a defect or warranty, you should be able to reactivate the replacement motherboard.

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

  • Windows Vista Edition Home Premium 32-bit to Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

I also have a problem with the product key that small cutting with the key has been damage and some numbers where not readable. but so far that has not been a problem as I have not that many but I want to be ready

Contact the person who sold it to your and get a replacement or Exchange CD-ROM.

There is no place on the way to upgrade 32-bit versions of Windows to Windows 7 64 bit. You will need to do a custom installation.

Using the disk of 64-bit Windows 7, install Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer Utility from the DVD (to find it, simply navigate to x:\support\migwiz, "x:" is the name of your hard drive. (In this case, you will see a collection of files, the important"that you must search for and double-click is 'migsetup'.) run it and create a DAMP (Windows Easy Transfer file), if you have an external hard drive, you can access it later when you perform a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit disk so you can stored there.

Once you have done this, just do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit disc. In Windows 7 64 bit disk, start Windows Easy Transfer, follow the wizard screen, tap on which is stored the WET file (external hard drive) and it will restore your personal files and settings. Reinstall the necessary

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

If your 32-bit version of Vista is retail, you can order 64-bit to above link for the cost of shipping.

If it is OEM, you can buy a 64 bit full license.

32-bit to 64-bit must be a clean install.

  • Windows Vista Edition upgrade Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional

Hi!, I need help.  I tried to understand the upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7 but I have not been able to fully understand the various issues.  My dilemma is this. I have a House runing PC with Windows Vista Home Premium and I want to install a version of Windows 7 Professional.  The package I have indicates whether an upgrade, but when playing in the homepage of Microsofts, in my view, that I understand that to switch from Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional, I need to do a full install, not an upgrade.  Because my package bed upgrade, I don't know if it contains the program needed to make an installation full or not.  I don't want to start and install and find out in the middle that I don't have the good disk to complete the task.  Could someone who knows about it could give me the right path to follow. I will be very greatfull for any guidance. Thank you.

See this simplified table of upgrade: http://i.zdnet.com/blogs/windows-upgrade-chart-eb-remake-final3.png?tag=col1;post-1246

Vista Home Premium upgrade to Win7 professional will require one in Place (i.e., update Win7 Home Premium) and an Express Upgrade (from Win7 Home Premium to Win7 professional).

That said, Windows Update has nothing to do with the upgrade of Windows.
