  Thanks for the reply, however it seems to work again after I removed some unused Dreamweaver sites in the section "manage sites" in Dreamweaver.  It may have been a conflict of name or something.

  That's ok. You can restore from a JSON backup bookmarks in Firefox. Other programs can not handle this format, so don't try not to open the file with another program.
  
  If you need to restore a JSON backup, then go to the Bookmark Manager (Bookmarks > show all bookmarks) and go to import and backup > restore.
