  To access WordPad:

  1. click on the start"" menu.
  2. choose "All programs" - "Accessories" - "WordPad."

  'File' - 'Open' to open previously saved documents (simply double-click the file). Now you can change what you want and then click on save the icon or click on file and then save.

  You cannot change the scanned document as you would for a normal Word document. The computer sees it as an image. You can get a PDF Editor and make comments, highlights and other, but you can make a Word document.

  What is the program you were using before?

  Try this:

  1. find one of your documents which normally Wouln't use WordPad to open.

  2. right click and select "Properties".

  3. in the section "open with...". ", click on"Change"... ».

  4. scroll down and find the program that you normally use and click on it. (see note below)

  5. check "Open all other files of this type with this program" at the bottom.

  6. click on 'OK' and 'OK '. You should now be back to normal.

  Note: When in step 4, you cannot find your program, please reply with the name of your program.

• I can find no apparent way to remove a file (document) so that in Word Pad!

  THE TITLE SAYS IT ALL.  IT IS THERE NO OPTION DELETE ON MY WORDPAD TOOLBARS!  THE ONLY WAY I have FOUND to REMOVE A FILE IS BY GOING TO THE LAST CHARACTER IN THE DOC AND pressing REPEAT BACKSPACE.  THIS DOES ' T REMOVE THE DOC, JUST THE WORDS ON THE DOC FILE.  IT SHOULD BE HAVE A TRASH ICON ACTIVATES THE TOOLBAR OR RIGHT CLICK MENU.  OR LOOKING AT THE LIST OF FILES, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO RIGHT CLICK AND SELECT REMOVE FROM THE MENU... IS NOT AVAILABLE.    I think that whoever wrote "Word Pad" had transferred just above the group who wrote Windows Live Mail!

  I use often to WordPad, but when you save a document, save you it to a location outside of WordPad. Don't know if you open the document, you can't delete in WordPad, but you can remove it where it lies. MS Word and Corel WordPerfect are the same in this regard. Also, if you want to clear all text, Ctrl + A and then delete done that fast.

  Not only that, but when I open freshly Word Pad - a list of recent Documents (in the menu option extreme top left (that I had used to open with) is inexplicably empty, but it will display all of my saved documents previously (on the right side).    Another method, that I've used to access documents in Word Pad was to click on my icon in taskbar (where I pinned the little icon to access Word Pad), but the list of my previous documents is therefore more in the field of small options which is the opposite, I used to be able to access my Word Pad documents recorded directly. The list is gone.
  So when I click on one of the documents stored in the document library list, that he does not attend the Word Pad at all, but rather, the unwanted app appears in front of the document library, list of blocking and cannot be deleted.  Only when I go out the document library he disappears with the window of the document library itself.
