I want to uninstall and reinstall Firefox, but I encounter some errors that I need help: alert.
Basically, I had some problems to where I couldn't actually open the Firefox browser, which was never fixed (I'm using chrome right now). I am trying to download Adobe Flash Player, but when I try, it says "You must close all Firefox Windows in order to complete your download." and yet, I can't even open the Firefox browser. So, I tried to uninstall Firefox, but I get the almost exact message. "You must close all windows to uninstall Firefox."
I want to reinstall after UN-installing because I use Firefox more often than Chrome. Please help me.
It may be that Firefox still works, even if the window does not appear.
Sometimes when the FF closes, no not all stops correctly.
On Windows, start the Task Manager (other systems may have
different names). Select Applications (list of which user programs
are running). If you see Firefox listed, try to close normally.
If she doesn't stop, and then in the Task Manager right-click FF,
then click end task. However, if FF still does not close or FF
is not listed as running. in Task Manager, select the process.
Look towards the bottom of the list for Firefox. Click right and then click end task.
If this problem keeps coming, ask for help more.

need to uninstall and reinstall firefox, it tells me to close google chome windows I get thi message when I
go to the Control Panel programs and features high firefox uninstrall
I did the same process with google chromeUninstall Firefox ask you to close Google Chrome? It's strange. I guess that you have closed all the browser windows when this happens.
I should ask: why do you need to uninstall and reinstall Firefox? Usually, this does not resolve problems with Firefox. Maybe read this article: Firefox Refresh - reset the settings and Add-ons.

Some sites work very well. I have Firefox on my work PC and laptop. I can open incandescence.com on them, but on this desk, it loads a page with what follows, 1000's of lines like the following:
(function() {}
var _UDS_CONST_LOCALE = "en";
var _UDS_CONST_SHORT_DATE_PATTERN = 'MDY ';
var _UDS_MSG_SEARCHER_IMAGE = ("Image");
var _UDS_MSG_SEARCHER_WEB = ("Web");
var _UDS_MSG_SEARCHER_BLOG = ('Blog');
var _UDS_MSG_SEARCHER_VIDEO = ('Video');
var _UDS_MSG_SEARCHER_LOCAL = ('Local');There are pages of the below. Some sites go up and try to open Notepad. I uninstalled firefox several times and reinstalled. Same results. I noticed that my bookmarks, etc. themselves so maybe uninstall/reinstall cleaning isn't the problem. Chrome, IE, Edge and all work very well on the sites in question.
He takes me to the following address instead of incandescence.com: http://www.google.com/uds/api/search/1.0/432dd570d1a386253361f581254f9ca1/default+en.I.js? & a = 1
Thank you...
Maybe a content filtering went wrong. Could test you mode without failure of Firefox? It is a standard diagnostic tool to disable some advanced features of Firefox and extensions. More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.
Does not work if Firefox: Hold down the SHIFT key when you start Firefox.
If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:
- button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > restart with disabled modules
- Help menu > restart with disabled modules
and OK reboot.
Two scenarios: A small dialog box should appear. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not update).
Any improvement?

Any help would be appreciated.Firefox reset function move your old folder settings on your desktop, inside a folder named old data from Firefox. Please keep this record for a few weeks in case you need to recover anything of him.
If the reset does not help, there are two main variables remaining here: possible corruption in the settings (your profile folder) files that are reported after a reset and possible problems in your Firefox program folder.
Create a new Firefox profile
A new profile will be your plugins installed by system (for example, Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions or other customizations. It will also have databases of completely fresh settings and cool a cache folder.
Out of Firefox and start in the profile using Start Manager > Run (hold the Windows key press R):
firefox.exe -P
Do not delete anything here.
Any time want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog box.
Go ahead and click on the button to create a profile, give it a name such as Nov8 and ignore the possibility of changing the location of the folder. Then launch Firefox in the new profile that you have created.
Until you return to the profile and start-up Manager in your regular profile, your desktop shortcut should launch the new profile.
Other than not having your settings, it works normally?
Note: When you return to the Profile Manager, you might be tempted to use the button Delete a profile on your new test profile. It's a little too easy to accidentally delete your 'real' profile, so I recommend you to resist the temptation. If you don't want to clean up later, I suggest to make a backup of all your profiles first in case something go wrong.
You can replace the Firefox program files without disturbing your settings by using this clean reinstall procedure:
(1) download a fresh Installer for Firefox 33 of https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ in an ideal location. (Scroll down your preferred language).
(2) as appropriate, close Firefox or make sure there is full compliance in the Task Manager.
(3) to rename the folder (Windows 64-bit folder names)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
TO
C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox
(4) run the installer you downloaded in the #1. It should automatically connect to your existing settings.
It runs?
Note: Some plugins recently installed can exist only in this OldFirefox file. If it is missing something essential, present in these files:
- C:\Program Files (x 86) \OldFirefox\Plugins
- C:\Program Files (x 86) \OldFirefox\browser\plugins
-
I uninstall Firefox, and then reinstall Firefox, try to open Firefox and get an error message in a box indicating popup.
"Closing of Firefox.
"A copy of Firefox is already open. Only one copy of Firefox can be open at a time. »
Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.
See "basic troubleshooting: a new profile:
If this new profile works then you can transfer files from the old profile to the new profile, but make sure not to copy corrupted files.

Everything I need to know before you uninstall and reinstall FIREFOX?
I have a problem with my online banking which the Bank will not solve because everything it works fine under Internet Explorer.
So my only other option seems to be to work with FIREFOX.Hi, if you encounter a problem with a particular site, this can work: see the section "How to remove a single website to my story?" in this article - delete navigation, search and download history on Firefoxand remove all references to this Web site.
If this does not help, you can try refresh (called "Reset" in older versions of Firefox) which can resolve many issues by restoring Firefox as his default from factory and save your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.
Note: When you use this feature, you will lose all the extensions, toolbar customizations, and certain preferences. See article Firefox Refresh - reset modules and parameters for more information.
Refresh for Firefox:
- Open the troubleshooting information page using one of the following methods:
- Click the menu button
click Help
and select troubleshooting information. Should open a new tab containing your troubleshooting information.
- If you are unable to access the Help menu, type Subject: support in your address bar to bring up the troubleshooting information page.
- Click the menu button
- At the top right of the page, you should see a button that says 'Refresh Firefox' ('reset Firefox' in older versions of Firefox). Click on it.
- Firefox closes. Once the update process is complete, Firefox will display a window with the imported information.
- Click Finish and reopen Firefox.
If you really need to uninstall - Uninstall Firefox on your computer, make sure you please reinstall only mozilla.org , since Firefox can come bundled with unwanted from other sites.
This corrects the problem? Please report to us!
Thank you.
