I want to uninstall the toolbar yahoo permanently, but the "Extensions" Manager is empty

I read many forums to support for how to uninstall the yahoo toolbar. Some suggested it uncheck the menu 'options', who is hiding, but does not remove it permanently (which I did). Others have said that the only way to permanently delete is to go to "Add-ons Manager", click on "Extensions", find the yahoo toolbar and remove it. Everyone said that worked for them. However, when I do that, the "Extensions" menu is empty. I can't scroll down and find it because there is nothing there.
So my question is twofold: why is my empty 'Extensions' when others have said that this work for them? And then how to uninstall that toolbar breath?

Hello, this sounds like the files in your profile folder that store the information on your extensions has been corrupted. Please go to firefox > help > troubleshooting information > profile - display folder... then windows Explorer should open your profile folder. there looking for files named extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite, extensions.sqlite - journal (and in some cases also extensions.txt, extensions.rdf). delete or rename the files and quit firefox, they will be regenerated the next time you start firefox.

The extension stopped working after that, recently, they have released a new update, so I went to day, only to be told that I need to remove the old in order to install a new one. Okay, all right. Then I go to remove it, and I get the above error. I certainly do not have the permissions! I am the administrator! Why don't the extensions manager who knows?

So, what should I do? Is there a way to manually remove the extension? Currently, I'm re - install the extensions Manager in the hope that it works.

For others with a similar problem, they did turn windows and just need to "run as Administrator", but for me, being on a mac... It seems that this is a rare problem.

    I am running CS5 (or 5.1?)

One thing you should know: you are administrator doesn't mean you run applications automatically have administrator privileges, regardless of the Windows or Mac. You must explicitly specify the OS (Windows or Mac) to run applications as an administrator. on Mac, the sudo command must be used.

    1. run "/ Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app.

    2. Enter the following commnad, then press 'return '.

    sudo "/ Applications/Adobe Extension Manager CS5/Adobe Extension Manager CS5.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe Extension Manager CS5»

    3. Enter your administrator password, and then press the 'return '.

BTW, characteristic of escalation of privilege introduced in CS5.5. So in CS5.5 and later versions, you don't have to run 'EM in this way.

  • The extensions Manager no longer works

    HI -.

While my extensions always seem to be available in Dreamweaver CS4, the extensions Manager no longer works. He started, but no window never appears. This is the case if I get into Dreamweaver, run it independently or click on an extension, I like to get updated. I would appreciate any information on what can cause this problem and how it can be solved.

I tried to uninstall the extensions with the uninstaller application manager, but the box for the extensions Manager is gray and I can't select it. If I click on select all and then uncheck the apps that I don't want to touch, the extension manager is also deselected. The only way to keep selected is if I leave also Fireworks, Illustrator, and InDesign selected. But all these applications uninstalling seems to be a radical alternative. If I trash manually the extensions Manager, I can't select it in the CS4 Installer. No doubt that I have to uninstall the other three applications and reinstall them in the same time, I have reinstall the extensions Manager. There is obviously some dependencies between these four apps, but uninstalling and reinstalling all are a lot of work to get to a solution that may not even work.

Thank you very much.  He was in fact not the .plist file which has been mentioned here, but what I found, it was two folders more deep adobe/Extension Manager2 / exman_uiPreferences.xml who had the position of extension manager -950 and when I changed this line of XML to a positive number, my extension manager then open on my main screen again.  Thank you for your help.  The extension manager should be closed until the change is made to the XML file that I found out he's going to rewrite the file with the old numbers, if it is already open when you close it.

LowPlains has a good point; do not forget that this change will affect all your drivers.

Have you tried to use the feature to disable on the Webcam driver?  If you disable the driver and remove the Cyberlink software, that should do it.  The software supports access to the operating system and deactivate it supports access by the hardware side.

In general this message only occurs if you have several versions of installed Dreamweaver and the extension is enabled at least two versions. So if you have DW8 and DWCS3 and the extension is installed at the same time, and you want to completely remove the extension, open the extensions Manager, then change to DW8 uncheck the extension. Change to DWCS3 and uncheck the extension. Repeat until all versions are unchecked. Select the extension, and then click Remove.

If you still see this message after doing the not checked on all versions of DW, then I suggest try reinstall the extension and try again to uninstall.

  • Uninstall the extensions CC Manager, or do I me ot for CC Photoshop and Lightroom?

Uninstall the extensions CC Manager, or do I me ot for CC Photoshop and Lightroom?

    You are probably right.

My desire was to not have the extensions showing in my CC Apps Manager.  I am not able to find it in my control panel to uninstall.  I was told my Support I could.  So. I'm going to ignore it.   I'm an amateur.  I have no idea what is the CC extensions Manager.

    Thanks for your comments.
