    I am computer illiterate, where the help required

    Vista Home Premium to Vista Business is NOT an upgrade path.

    You will need to purchase a FULL version / license of Vista professional and do a clean install of it.

    How to do a clean install:

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • DOES NOT UPDATE MY VISTA HOME PREMIUM

    MY VISTA HOME PREMIUM 32 BIT DOES NOT UPDATE AND I KEEP GETTING THIS ERROR 80073712 CODE.
    "PLEASE HELP ME"!

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/957310

    Above is resolution of Microsoft to your error Code.

    But it is perhaps not very simple to fix.

    1. try Method 1 to above website. Run (Checksur.exe) system update readiness tool

    2. do you have Service Pack 1 installed Vistra?

    Method 2 is in the list.

    3. method 3 is to do a Vista repair install.

    You need good Vista disc to do this.

    4. If none of the works above, you need to reinstall Vista, using either the recovery disk/s or the recovery partition.

    Save all data before you do, because it will be lost when reinstalling.

    Good luck with it.

  • Hi iam trying to get a free update of vista home premium for windows7 edition Home premium, but have had no luck at all.

    Hello

    IAM doing the free upgrade from windows vista home premium to windows7 home premium but with no luck please help.

    Migration: Windows XP and Vista

    First, Windows XP and Windows Vista are not eligible versions for the free update, so you should have to buy a full version license.

    Buy Windows 10 family/professional edition

    In addition, Windows XP and Vista users will need to perform a custom installation, any attempt to start the installation of Windows 10 in legacy versions of Windows will trigger the following error message:

    Learn more: how: perform a customized Windows installation

    Keep in mind, the restoration works in Windows 10 can't stand not installs custom, so if you decide to go back to Windows XP or Vista, you have to reinstall it using original reinstall media. So try to create a backup of your installation, if it is important for you.

  • From a newspaper article, I realized that Windows 7 would be free updated for Vista Home Premium that was on a computer purchased. My purchase date was 12/28/09 & Best Buy told me that I was not covered. What are the limits?

    How does the Windows 7 upgrade Option?

    The Windows 7 upgrade Option is available through participating PC manufacturers on some PC and Microsoft on any purchase of packaged product Windows Vista. The Windows 7 upgrade Option applies to Windows Vista Home Premium, Business and Ultimate editions. Your upgrade to Windows 7 will be the comparable version: so you will get either Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional (upgrade to Windows Vista Business) or Windows 7 Ultimate, respectively. The Option upgrade Windows 7 program runs from June 26, 2009 through January 31, 2010. Some manufacturers may choose to shorten the time of upgrade Option.

  • lack of cd installation for window vista Home premium, but not the sticker on laptop?

    I don't HAVE THE CD TO INSTALL the windows vista family premium, BUT WHEN I BOUGHT MY LAPTOP and hav, STICKER IS in MY COMPUTER PORTABLE WINDOwS VISTA product key, WHAT should I DO TO GET AN Installer?

    Vista Media recovery obtaining and/or using the Vista recovery on your computer Partition to factory settings .

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

    Problem solved. I decided to wait and try download on my home network, I would have used my last download NIS 2010 if I uninstalled and did a clean install. When I tried it on my network home, which is not the case nearly as safe as the College network, it worked fine. Just wanted you to know and say thanks for all your help.

  • Updates to Vista Home Premium

    I can't use my laptop.  Following error message: "Setup updates step 3 of 3."  0% complete.  Do not turn off your computer. «The laptop will then close and restart with the same error message.»  This loop is more than 4 hours.   I had so many problems with Vista, it never ends.  I want to use my laptop as soon as POSSIBLE.  Help.  G. R. Rutherford Frame

    Hi Rutherford,

    If you have a Vista DVD tries to boot from the Vista DVD and click on install now rather try to click on fix my computer now and in the tools, click System Restore, restore the computer to the date it was working fine. Incase you do not have the Vista DVD try to start the computer in safe mode and perform a system restore or tent from start to the last know good configuration.

    The steps should help you to fix the problem.

  • After you have installed the free updates for Vista Home Premium 64 bit, Windows will not start

    After that I installed the free updates to service pack 1, the system goes through 2 of the 3 steps, while it recharges, then the system does not boot?  To get the computer to work again, I need to run the repairer of Windows, which allows you to restore the system to an earlier point?  Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

    Do your system restore, then:

    Click Start > right click on computer > properties > Windows updates down the lower left corner > updates installed in the lower left corner in the next window

    > then click the one that you don't want > uninstall will appear at the top > uninstall it.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, on the page where you clicked "Installed updates", click on change settings at the top left corner it
    > Change update settings in the next page of AutoUpdate to "check for updates but let me choose etc" > OK ".
    When you take a look at pending updates, you can either download/install them one at the time, namely the update causing you problems.
    > or if you do not need an individual > right-click on > UAC prompt > hide it
