I'm sorry, but you will need a Windows 9 x / ME drive to provide during the XP installation from the XP disc is a version upgrade. There is no way around that. See if you can find a friend with an older operating system disk (not a recovery disk) to support qualification. Otherwise, you would need to buy the full version (not upgrade) of XP to install on the computer. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

How can I install windows live

    Hi asian1955,

Have you tried to download Windows Live from here: http://explore.live.com/windows-live-essentials?os=other this is the latest version of Windows Live. Once you start to install, simply install the components you want, there is no need to install anything if you do not need.

  • I'm trying to upgrade to windows 7 Vista but not like the 40 GB c: partition has only 3 GB free.

TRY TO UPGRADE TO WINDOWS 7 BUT C: DRIVE FULL DESPITE THE REMOVAL OF ALL UNNECESSARY PROGRAMS

I'm trying to upgrade to windows 7 Vista but not like the 40 GB c: partition has only 3 GB free. Removed all unnecessary programs, etc. If you only really have Vista on C: drive but still showing 37GB used. Any ideas how I can release another 6 GB of free space.
    Tahnks a lot

I hate to say it, but it would be a great time for a bigger hard drive.  While 40 GB meets at least for installation you really need more for in-place-upgrading a system using 37 GB.  Setup needs space for temporary files, its own temporary relocation, etc.

  • Re: Windows Live Messenger stops working after auto-refresh

    Hello
I'm having problems with my windows live messenger. After a few updates, did to windows, that it does not now. How open it is written that he found an error and it closes and Windows informed when there is a solution to the problem.

I tried to recover the windows system to the time before that updates that ends the correct functionality of the Messenger and then it worked again, but only for a short period.

Then, lately after that automatic updates have been made again, the Messenger stops working with the same error message.

Can someone help me? What could I do to fix this?
I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling messenger, but without success.

I think that this has happened when one of the updates have been interrupted in the middle because of a loss of power.

    Thank you
    Welcome to the Germany

    Hello

UINSTALL Live messenger and clean the registry with CCleaner. Note, maybe you must remove Live messenger elements to the registry yourself. Install it again:

  • Windows live messenger stops working after a while

Whenever I connect Windows live I get a message that this communication platform on-line Windows has stopped working and windows will close the program and I am started mid convo quickly. I do not know why this happens, I just reformat my computer and had to reinstall windows and have this problem since. I even tried to uninstall and reinstall new but no luck. Help, please!

    Hello AshNight,

You should post in the Windows Live help as Mick has suggested. They will come back with help.

However, in the meantime, you can do a repair on your own.
Have you installed programs before this problem started? This may include antivirus, e-mail programs, etc.
I've seen some posts where some products Antivirus and cause of conflict. So as a troubleshooting step, remove your antivirus (not just disable) and see if there is a conflict with your AntiVirus and Windows Live messenger. (Do not forget and don't go out when you do not have an antivirus installed on intenet).

If that doesn't help, then do a clean boot and see if there is a conflict. You disable all startup items and services of third parties at boot. This method will help us determine if this issue is caused by a loader program or service.

  • Cannot re - install Windows Live Messenger. Can't the Messenger newspaper.

"A problem has arisen concerning the security of the web certificate. Error 80048820 No. and 80048416; navigation is blocked. ErnieB.

    Hi Ernie,.

Here are a few things that you can watch in which could be causing the problem.

    1. the date on your computer needs to be properly defined - double click the clock verify that the time and date are set.

    2. If your password information is not saved, make sure that you type it in with the proper case (uppercase or lowercase).

    3. change your password @ https://login.passport.com/ChangePW.srf to something smaller (less than 10-12 characters), and then try to connect again.

    4. If you use a firewall (like Norton Internet Security, ZoneAlarm etc.), it is possible that Messenger doesn't have the correct rights to access the Internet. You can try to re / add Messenger to the allowed list of programs in your firewall.

    5. If you disabled your firewall in the past, it may be blocking Messenger - always try to reboot and see if that helps the situation. You can also try to uninstall a firewall installed, to check that it isn't causing a problem (even if it is disabled).

    6. clear your IE cache and cookies - open Internet Explorer > click the Tools menu > Internet Options > click the button Delete files and when it is finished, click Delete Cookies.

    7. check your IE security settings--open Internet Explorer, click on tools, then Internet Options menu, click the Advanced tab, scroll to the Security section and make sure 'Search' evocation of server certificate is not checked. Also make sure that "use SSL 2.0"and the use SSL 3.0 is checked, then click OK."

    8. Click Start, then run, and enter the following information:

    regsvr32 softpub.dll

Click OK, and then do the same for the following:

    regsvr32 wintrust.dll
    regsvr32 initpki.dll
    Regsvr32 MSXML3.dll

It seems that if the store installed Windows Live Mail 2009, a version which was released more than four years ago. You can download and install the latest version for Windows 7 (16.4.3505.0912) on this page: Download Windows Essentials
