I was just a victim of a scam, fraudulent and very cruel / virus affecting the site.

I RECEIVED an SMS on my phone cell phone YESTERDAY THAT SAID:

[FROM 760-821-5915]  "Dear Walmart shopper, your purchase last month won a $1,000 gift card. Click here to apply:

So I think it's almost certainly a lie, but I thought that he would do no good to enter the site in my browser just to see if it could be legitimate. If it were an email, I would never have looked twice, but since it was sent to my phone, I thought that it would be true. I recently put my cell on the "do not call" registry number, so it's doubly wrong.

then he re - direct me to:

My question is: how better warn everyone on this type of scam, and how do I find these [censored] and stop?

The Avast software probably created a report and he sent already in their database. With respect to the reports to Microsoft: the only way seems to be through Internet Explorer and it should really be ON the Web site so that it can generate a report.
