I was using my 1st generation ipod nano

I was creating a new playlist using my ipod nano (2 gb) when all of a sudden all the music that he dissappeared. ITunes has no music because it is a new installation of itunes 12. How can I get music back? If I can?

A new installation of iTunes must not remove the music library unless the facility has been applied incorrectly. There is no way to recover the music of the Nano.

  • My 1st generation iPod touch can not save on my iMac El Capitan but can to my MacBook Snow Leopard ' 08. Why the iMac think that the backup is corrupt?

Of course, I'm using my iMac El Capitan, but when I bought the music today and went to add to my iPod touch iTunes ended up freezing. Long story short, I could delete the files from the iPod but can not add one; Adding a single song led to suspended iTunes and the cancellation of the synchronization via the iPod of course makes no difference.

After going through all the rigamarole any attempt to delete all backups for iPod, both through preferences and in/Library/Application Support / MobileSync / Backup, I always had the same problem. I can't add music on my iPod via the iMac, nor can I save it there. Yes, I rebooted.

And so, after many tears, I pulled out my MacBook ' 08, who narrowly missed the cut for El Capitan and so still has Snow Leopard. And now my iPod backed up very well! (I cursed myself for not to copy previous backup before it was replaced, but hey.) They are all under the same Apple ID, so at this point, I'm simply redownloading all of my new purchases on the ol' MacBook ' so I can add it to the iPod... but how long this will be a viable solution? (I realize using products Apple since 2008 is an affront, but you've got to do what you do I do, and I don't currently have pocket for 32 GB change.)

So the question. Is there an incompatibility of software between my 1st generation iPod touch (3.1.3) and my iMac (El Capitan with iTunes 12.3.2.35 10.11.3)? Is there really a degree of corruption here than Snow Leopard with iTunes 10.6.8 11.4 (18) does not recognize?

(My apologies for what is the format, I still haven't managed to brevity, and these a few hours researching in it made me frustrated).

Edit: I forgot to mention that I tried to copy on the backup freshly prepared from the MacBook on the iMac and received the same exact error message.

do you see this line on the screen when the Apple logo?  If you do, it is probably a hardware problem.  If the line is not there at the start, but returns after the iPod starts, you can do a restore of the iPod using iTunes.  This d erases the IPO, reinstall its software and sets it to the default settings.

  • generation iPod Nano 7 jumping battery percentage

    Hello.

I recently got an opportunity 7th generation iPod Nano and the battery percentage jumps around. I use it and it seems that it is half-percent or less then I turn off the screen and turn the screen turn it on again to change the song and it will pop up to like more than half. Is this normal or a kind of glitch that I should take to the Genius Bar? Does that mean I have a bad battery? Thank you.

Try to let the game iPod continuously, until it is unloaded.  You can let them play unsupervised until he stops playing alone.  Then, connect it to the power for a few hours, so that it is completely recharged.  See if that makes the battery to act more reliably.  It is good sometimes to drain the battery completely and then load it completely.

  • 6th generation ipod nano

at the time I had my iPod nano, I used has a member of the family because I had no one. (yes I know it's been awhile haha) and I have my own account that I want to use my iPod, and I was wondering if there was even a way to do this, or at least to be able to transfer music... ? as I would be able to disconnect from the old account and connect to my own? Sorry if I'm going to be really stupid, and it is actually very easy. honestly, I tried to look in the settings, but I couldn't find anything.

An iPod (which is not iPod touch) is not directly related to one Apple (iTunes Store account) ID.  It can be associated with the iTunes library that is used to synchronize, but is not identical to the Apple ID.  There is no step of registering a Apple ID for an iPod (which is not iPod touch) and connect it with a new one.  Simply connect it to your current iTunes library.  If you set it to Sync music with your current iTunes library, iTunes erases the existing content of the iPod (from the previous iTunes library) and replaces it with the contents of your current iTunes library.  It is then associated with your iTunes library in the future.

iTunes synchronization is generally one-way, from the iTunes library to iPod.  You cannot use iTunes to transfer from iPod to the computer, with the exception of songs purchased on the iTunes Store (which have been purchased using your Apple ID).  It would be preferable to add songs in your iTunes library, of the original source and set your iPod Sync music from your iTunes library.

  • How can I connect my 1Connectez 1st generation iPod (original iPod) to a laptop

I have an original iPod and it has a screen old port how to connect it to a laptop and they don't have these kind of show ports more

Not sure what you mean by "display port"...  The dock connector of the original iPod (2001) is a FireWire port.  You really have an original 1st gen iPod, with a (not key or click) scroll wheel that physically turns a circle?  Looks like this

If so, it can connect to a computer equipped with a FireWire port .  To do this, not to connect to a USB port.  There are "scam" products that claim to be a USB-to-FireWire adapter cable, but they don't work; they can even cause damage to the iPod if used.  FireWire and USB work very differently (and even use different power supply voltages); You cannot connect them just by changing the shape of the connector.

If your computer is a Mac (no FireWire port) with a Thunderbolt port, Apple sells a Thunderbolt-to-FireWire adapter.  On a Windows PC, to connect to the 1st (or 2nd) gen iPod, you add an expansion card of a certain type that provides an actual FireWire interface.  For more details, please provide more information on your situation.

  • 7th generation iPod nano will not be recognized by iTunes more.

My laptop is fairly recent. Provided with Windows 10. My iPod is recognized and works perfectly until about 2 months ago. iPod still works and plays. The laptop recognizes that there is something related to the USB key, but iTunes does not properly recognize it. I would like to get some new music, but it is quite difficult if iTunes does not recognize my device. Nothing help online troubleshooting things and I don't feel like calling apple support and deal with them. Any advice is welcome.

  • iPod nano 5 with MacOS Sierra

I use the latest version of MacOS Sierra (10.12) in my MBPmid14. However, I found that the iPod Nano 5 I have is not recognized by the computer. It loads, but it does not sync. One of you have the same problem?

I have not used this iPod in some time, including synchronization and load. I have an XtremeMac charging cable.

Is what the iPod is too old and too recent software, cable has problems (it has synchronized before) or something in the settings prevents the synchronization?

I use a 5th generation iPod nano, and it works fine with the latest version of the OS and iTunes.

When you connect it, look at the screen of the iPod.  He said initially 'Connected' (to indicate a data connection)?  Or does only show the symbol of battery?

  • How can I use an ipod nano that was synched to another computer?

My daughter gave me his 2nd generation ipod nano because it is no longer use it.  When I plugged in my USB to load, I got a message informing me that there is an update.  It would not be updated beause "ipod cannot be updated because it contains files that are used by another application."

What should I do to be able to use this ipod nano?

I don't think that this message is related to the iPod is synced to another computer...  It is usually other applications or processes on the computer (which is not iTunes) accessing the iPod for some reason if iTunes is not able to perform the update.  However, your question in the subject heading ("How can I use an ipod nano that was synched to another computer?") is valid, since the iPod was previously used by someone else, with a different iTunes library.

If you want to start using this iPod with your iTunes library and put on your songs, instead of doing an Update, you need to restoreThis erases the iPod, reinstalled the latest version of the software, and sets it to the default settings.  The iPod gets a 'new beginning', as when it was new.  To resolve the problem with this "files in use by another application" error message, try restarting your computer.  Immediately after the computer finishes starting up, run iTunes, plug in the iPod (if it isn't already) and try to do the restore (or Update).  If you still get this error message, please after return.

If you are restoring, you can configure it to sync with your iTunes library.  You can post back, if you need advice on options for the implementation.

I'm sorry that I can't answer in Spanish.  I used Google Translate.

Lithium batteries can become unable to hold a charge, if left in a State completely drained for a long period.  Given that the iPod was never opened and charged, which could be the reason that the battery of the iPod does not hold a charge now.

Apple can no longer service the 5th generation iPod nano, but if you do a search on the Internet, there may be electronics independent repair companies in your area familiar with Apple.  The drum part is available online.  This web site illustrates the procedure

  • iPod Nano 5 G vs 7G

I am looking to buy an iPod Nano. I heard that the click wheel on the 5G breaks, I don't want to deal with fingerprints. Which device is more user-friendly and accessible, because for me, the G-7 resembles a small iPod Touch without internet.

I used a nano gen 5 years and use it exclusively for my race (with the Nike + Bluetooth receiver to iPod and motion sensor on the shoe).  I use a case and hold it in my hand when running.  I took a few falls and dropped my nano several times.  So it has a few scratches.  Always works 100%.  According to my experience, it is solid.  I don't know that there are some owners with broken wheel.  When tens of millions of what whatsoever are sold, ALL possible types of problem will be produced for the global customer base.  This does not mean that any particular problem is likely to occur to any individual customer.  Since you don't touch the screen to use a 5th gen nano, there is no problem with the fingerprints.  A user of long date iPod, I like the interface of the wheel.

The 5th gen nano becomes an iPod 'old' at this stage.  Old things tend to start to break down.  If the iPod has been heavily used, its battery is likely to be carried out (or how to get there).  If the iPod wasn't used a lot and sat in a drawer, which can be even worse for a lithium battery.  The nano gen 5 has a battery that is soldered to the logic board, is not easy to replace, without good soldering skills and enjoy disassembling miniature electronics.

A unique feature of 5th generation iPod nano: it has a video camera (to take videos not photos), as well as a built-in microphone and tiny speaker.

The 7th gen nano is the current model.  It is brand new with a warranty of one year.  Users who have never used an iPod scroll wheel can be more usable.  It has a touch interface; you deal with fingerprints.  It uses the connector of the lightning, which is the current standard for Apple peripheral of mooring.  No accessory Nike + necessary to track running.

A unique feature of 7th generation iPod nano: it has built-in Bluetooth.
