I was working on a microsoft word doc and all of a sudden all paragraph marks and points between each word that presented themselves. How can I get rid of these?

I was working on a microsoft word doc and all of a sudden all paragraph marks and points between each word that presented themselves.  How can I get rid of these?

You click the Show/Hide in the Standard toolbar.  The location of this button may vary depending on the version of Word that you have (that you did not state).  Click the button again to make the marks disappear.
