I will back up everything that I want to keep and do a custom (clean) installation for windows 7 Edition home premium.

Amount of external hard disk space is required for installation files?   I have a 10 gig and a ceiling of 5 gig on my wireless devices, or am I better off buying the staples or office depot installation disc?

Hello

"do a custom (clean) installation for windows 7 home premium.

You say you want to install Windows 7, NOT Vista.

It is a better idea if you buy you the Windows 7 DVD and then install it from the media.

You then save model the work of making a Bootable DVD from the download and you also then have a reliable way to reinstall Windows 7 and repair work on this, if you have the need to.

Before purchasing Windows 7, make sure that your hardware and software will work properly with him.

Take some time and these checks:

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

I want to restore my hp desktop computer that is running windows vista edition Home premium, but I don't have the cd and when I try it files through the windows there not a correct restore date.  can someone help me?

    Hello

You're confused system recovery and system restore.

System Restore makes the settings from your computer to an earlier date; It will not reinstall the operating system.

System recovery reinstalls the operating system how much you bought your machine; as for the new State.

You can reinstall by the HP Recovery Manager if your computer is still running or by pressing F11 at startup.

You can also make your own recovery discs.

All these information are the included HP link.

I have Windows 7 Edition home premium installed 32-bit update. How can I upgrade to 64-bit? Will there be problems of validation so I re-install from scratch?

If you have purchased a retail package, it should include the disk for Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Otherwise, you can download a backup copy at the following link and use the same product key that allows you to enable the 32-bit version. Its a possibility, you may need to reactivate by phone, see below for instructions:

You will need to do a clean install, there is no place on the way to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit.

Using the disk of 64-bit Windows 7, install Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer Utility from the DVD (to find it, simply navigate to x:\support\migwiz, "x:" is the name of your hard drive. (In this case, you will see a collection of files, the important"that you must search for and double-click is 'migsetup'.) run it and create a DAMP (Windows Easy Transfer file), if you have an external hard drive, you can access it later when you perform a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit disk so you can stored there.

Once you have done this, just do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit disc. In Windows 7 64 bit disk, start Windows Easy Transfer, follow the wizard screen, tap on which is stored the WET file (external hard drive) and it will restore your personal files and settings. Reinstall the applications needed.

  • I have a Sony Vaio with Windows Vista Edition Home Premium, and I want to do 2 things:

    1. I have a processing time of printing is slow b/c other programs running in the background.

I have a bunch of programs on my desktop I really do not use/need. How to uninstall programs that I don't want?

    2. I think that this will free up more RAM so that the installation of Windows 7 will run better.  I have a dual 32-bit chip.  How will I know that my computer is prepared / has the ability to run Windows 7?  I am running Windows 7 Advisor now, but he said was thank you for downloading.  It doesn't have any pop up window that says that everything was OK and I can download Windows 7.

At the time wherever you bought the laptop, the processor has been the best on the market. But now the development has given way to more advanced and powerful processors. Windows was developed to use the maximum features of more recent material with each release of version of Windows.

You can go for the configuration later, the best material of today so that it will more suited for Windows to run faster.
  • How can I fix backup after go back to Windows 7 Edition Home Premium windows 10

I have upgraded to Windows 10 but returned shortly after to Windows 7-32 bit Home Premium. I was not able to backup as usual and when I went to do the screen showed that "backup Windows only has not been implemented". When I set it up and tried backup I got error code 0 x 80041321... "the image of the task is damaged or has been tampered with." Was able to fix by applying "repairtasks.codex etc." posted on .microsoft answers by Dijji on August 14, 2015... This application allowed me to get at least in the backup (and fixed other problems back too).

I can now do a backup only if I select "Let me choose"and uncheck the data files and the Image of the system and then check the box under computer for my C drive. I can't do a backup as previously by selecting "let Windows choose ' when I don't try this backup method I get error code 0 x 81000031" windows Backup does not have while determining the location of the libraries of one of the users included in the backup: retail; the file name, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect. "

I always save to a hard drive Portable Samsung.

I'm not an advanced user and would appreciate any suggestions as to how to solve this problem. I have a system repair disc and the System Image I did before moving to Windows 10 if it helps.

In summary: How to fix the error code 0 x 81000031 for this problem of backup.

PS Do not know about what Windows to place it, if it's better elsewhere how it can be moved by me or moderator?

    Hi Philippe

I have now solved the problem for my computer as below:

    1. click on start, then click computer

    2. right click on any of the 4 libraries IE Documents, music. pictures, videos and go down to properties

    3. click on properties and you will probably see that each library has 2 places... they looked reasonable for me

    4. at the bottom of the Panel, click RESTORE defaults, and then click APPLY and then click OK

    5. repeat the same process for each of the libraries

    6. I then ran Microsoft Fixit tool for backup

7.I replaced then backup setting by "let Windows choose ' and ran the backup.

Backup worked correctly, as she had always done before.

I want to emphasize that I am not an advanced user

Hope it could be useful that I can not imagine that restoring the default settings could do no harm.

If you see STRANGE places in each library library it would I think be wise to investigate further before restoring the default settings

If it works for you could mark you as answer

    Kind regards

  • Can I get my favorites on an external hard drive that I use as support? I have Windows 7 Edition Home Premium.

I've been backing up my computer with Windows 7 Home Premium on an external hard drive. I've been using manual backup when I plug the external hard drive. I tried looking for the folder of Firefox but can't seem to find it. He recorded with all of the other files and folders, and if so how do I enter it?

Your Firefox profile would have the data. You can find it at:

    • C:\Users\ < Windows user/login name > \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ < profile folder >

      • The file you want is called places.sqlite

You can copy this file if you want to restore your bookmarks to your current Firefox back to C:\Users\ < Windows user/login name > \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ < profile folder > and overwrite the current file. Keep in mind, this will delete your current bookmarks.

If the license for Windows 7 Professional, you have access to is a retail version update or complete, you can use the product key and the Express upgrade to Windows 7 Edition Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional. First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click on the option enter a key, enter the key of Windows 7 Professional on demand, click Next, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement, click on upgrade, wait while the software upgrades, (it may take 10 minutes or more depending on the if updates are required) your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify you updating the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a window will appear notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional your files, programs and settings retained.

Please note that the Express upgrade does not support OEM, MSDN-Academic, Volume (the student faculty licenses) license. If you are in possession of all these brackets, you will need to save and do a custom clean install. If you want to do it, please backup your Windows 7 Home Premium or according to edition currently installed. Some licenses for Windows distributed to tertiary level students are not perpetual, which means that you cannot continue to use the software after a course or graduating.

  • How much time after reinstalling window 7 32 Home Premium it take before that receive updates?

    * Original title: update Windows 7

How long after reinstalling window 7 32 Home Premium does it take before that receive updates.

Should be immediately the minute that an Internet connection is detected. I would advise that you install updates Windows Update batch well. There are about 300 post SP1 updates, more if you have reinstalled the version Windows 7 RTM.

My recommendation would be to install updates in batches, these 5 at a time, exclude the hardware/driver updates. Avoid installing a set of updates for Microsoft Windows and Office at the same time. Also, try to install the first small updates. Avoid installing things like the .NET Framework and SQL Express updates.
Whenever you install updates (it's a chore, but it guarantees a more reliable experience). Try to start the Microsoft Office updates for programs such as (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Another thing, try to download the updates, and then install them. When you are prompted to restart, disconnect from the Internet and restart your computer.
To proceed with the installation of additional updates.
If the continuous computer to become unresponsive, try the following:

You can reset the Windows Update components by running the Fixit on this page.  But if there is malware present, she will continue to reset the connection to the update servers:

Once the Fixit has been downloaded and the system is started in the pure State, check that the native Windows Firewall is now on if a 3rd party firewall has been used previously.  Now run the Fixit and choose the default mode.  Restart once it's done and see if the system can be connected to the update servers.  If he can't, then rerun the Fixit and choose aggressive mode.  Turn it back on when he finished the race and updates.
I suggest before you stop and install the updates, disconnect from the Internet, first.

A friend wants to sell and transfer its CS6 (Mac) costume for me, because it uses all of its content, but I use Win', is no longer possible?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Iscu,

Once you buy the Mac version of your friend, you can go ahead and ask for an exchange of Windows platform.

Make sure that your friend is a "licence transfer" through Adobe. Once the "transfer license" is over, the serial number will be saved under your account and you will be the current owner of the license. Later, you can go ahead and request an exchange of your product. To learn more about the license transfer, follow the below URL:

    http://helpx.Adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/transfer-product-license.html

FYI - Swap platform is available only with the current version. Therefore if CS7 releases, you can buy a platform upgrade...

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Kind regards
