I would like to do a clean install of windows 7 Professional 64-bit in my hp probook 4540s.after install exactly what are the necessary to install drivers and whence? Thank you

Hello:

Here is the link to the support page and drivers for your laptop.

http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=5229457&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=5229455&swLang=13&TaskID=135&swEnvOID=4059

Now, we can tell you exactly what drivers to install the adapter wireless because he could be one of several models installed in your laptop.

You must install the following drivers in this order.

Chipset: Installation and reboot

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=5229455&prodNameId=5229457&swEnvOID=4059&swLang=13&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=ob-105389-1

Audio: Installation and reboot

Wired network:

Then these are the drivers, I know that you will need:

  • How to do a clean install of Windows 7 Professional of a DVD on the ProBook s 4530?

So I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit installed on my laptop and I want to get rid of it completely and to do a clean install of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit from a DVD.
I don't want to use windows anytime upgrade somehow! Because I have a few serious bugs with my current installation and a clean install, I can be sure to get rid of them

I'd appreciate if someone could tell me how exactly to do this and if all my data will be deleted. If so, will it download all drivers HP and the software again by myself? :/

In addition, because of my college, I get a free copy of win 7 professional so why not use it?
I have already burned on a DVD, now I just need to detail how a facility own n_n
So after I installed win 7 Professional I just copy and replace Driverstore and C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRVSTORE instead of download the drivers?
BTW, I'll accept your next answer as the snap

You will use the copied Driverstore and C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRVSTORE for is the source of the drivers when you then. Do not replace the folder in the new installation of Windows with the folder that you copied from the initial installation of Windows. It would not be a good idea.

Once you have done the copy of the file and have it practice you can simply put the installation DVD into the DVD drive and boot from it. There will be a point where asks you if you want to save your previous installation. Say no to it.

At this stage you can always do a defined recovery disk. I recommend that you do this. This is the copy of the operating system and drivers you purcased your PC with. If you do not want is not a problem like UO can always buy it at HP over the next years.

  • Clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 - bit on Qosmio X 870

When I got my laptop (Qosmio x 870) I immediately uninstalled BONES because it was full of bloatware and installed a clean version of windows 7 ultimate 64-bit. After my installation I tried installing the drivers on my laptop, but some do not seem to work.

My VGA driver installed, but the windows experience index for my graphics is 5.5 which is much lower than it should be (if memory serves right it was 7.4 before I uninstalled the original O.S inflated). However, the biggest problem I encountered is the network driver. I installed all network drivers unique on the page of the Toshiba driver for the qosmio x 870, but none seems not to work. For some reason, the laptop thinks my wifi is disabled, I know that it is not (unless there is a setting in the bios that needs to be changed if not I don't know).

I really need some help here guys, if someone can me EXACT by the drivers I need this point would mean the world to me. Toshiba really should have a package of essential drivers, as most other computer companies have, it makes everything much easier for people who hate the bloated OS that comes with their laptop.

    > When I got my laptop (Qosmio x 870) I uninstalled immediately his BONES because it was full of > bloatware and installed a clean version of windows 7 ultimate 64-bit.
In my opinion this is the biggest mistake that anyone can do after the purchase of brand new computer. But you're not alone.
As a first step before doing this you create recovery discs, and I really hope that you ve done that.
Second, I can understand you if you say that the recovery image contains many pre-installed tips that you don t like, but you should not install version of the OS. No one force you to use all this stuff. You can remove all the system software and configure OS preinstalled on the way you like it.

And third, why you didn t post here and picked up some opinions until you started to install own OS? You might get some useful tips first.
You can install the version of the own BONE but installation of additional things must / should be made after the right installation order. Computers laptops Qosmio have more complicated platform/hardware features and drivers, tools and utilities must be installed on the right track if you want to have all the features.

Best thing you can do now is to reinstall the OS and continue to install all the extra stuff following the installation order posted by Lasko.

  • Clean install of Windows XP Professional on a WD 500 GB SATA2 HDD

Respected members, I've never ever had this problem. Today I bought a HDD WD 500 GB SATA2 16 MB buffer.

I tried to do a clean installation of windows xp professional on this topic (quick format) but each time the installation is complete to copy of files and restarts the computer, when it tries to boot from a hard drive it gives me an error any hardware problem.

"Windows did not start because of a configuration of the disk of the computer problem.

Could not read from the selected boot disk. Check the hardware path and startup disk.

Please check the Windows documentation about hardware disk configuration and your hardware for more information reference manuals. »

The next time I try to boot from it, she said something about "hal.dll" missing. Do you think that this may be a hardware problem (but I am reminding you that I bought today, it's new, it's a warancy) or windows xp pro sp2 is not supported for the 500 GB hard drive (which I know is not possible: S)

    Hoping for an answer

Is this the only drive in the system? If so, run the disk Western Digital diagnostic utility. No matter that the reader is right out of the box. In fact, if the material is going to fail, it will normally be done fairly quickly - sometimes right out of the box - or go for years.

If the drive passes the test, try "slipstreaming" of your installation of XP with Service Pack 3 media.

    http://theeldergeek.com/slipstreamed_xpsp3_cd.htm

If the drive is not the only le seul in the system, disconnect the other and try the installation again. The missing hal.dll indicates a damaged or missing boot.ini file and possibly other startup files. If you have an old IDE drive in the boot.ini system file is probably on that instead of on the new drive where it belongs.

  • The difficulty to do a clean install of windows 7 Professional. Please read for more details.

    Well, here's my situation...

    (1) purchased a computer with windows vista (32-bit) on it earlier

    • Did not get a recovery disk.
    • There is no 'sticker' on the computer indicating the type of vista (home etc.) or the product key.

    (2) used my student account at Microsoft to buy Windows 7 Professional 32 bit

    • I have the product id and product key.
    • I burned the ISO image to a disc (the disc has now lost) and ran it by restarting.
    • I chose the upgrade instead of the fresh start option since I wanted to keep my files.
    • Everything worked well.

    (3) my computer is slow because this year, I had downloaded a lot of software. Instead of uninstalling stuff, I recorded all important files on a disc and completely erased from my hard drive to a new beginning. I took measures

    • Created a system repair disc.
    • Downloaded the software used to wipe my hard drive - Boot and Nuke.
    • Engraved Boot and Nuke on a disc.
    • Ran the disc by restarting.
    • Boot and Nuke wiped the hard drive successfully.
    • Inserted the repair disc Windows 7 that I created earlier and rebooted.
    • Went through steps, nothing not arrived and began to receive an error message.
    • Learned that I needed more than the floppy disk repair.

    (4) my troubleshooting and what I tried

    • On another computer, I downloaded the iso image of Windows 7 Professional SP1 32 bit and it burned.
    • Ran the disc by restarting.
    • I got to the screen to enter the product key and I did it, but he said that "the product key is invalid.
    • Discovered that I have a key for Windows 7 Professional 32-bit (but not the SP1 version). So I downloaded the iso for the RTM of Windows 7 Professional.
    • Ran the disc by restarting.
    • I got to the screen to enter the product key and I did it, but he said that "the product key is invalid.

    Quick review:

    (1) I have the product id and the product key for Windows 7, I bought with my student account.
    (2) I do not have the version of Vista that was installed at the factory and did I not the id product or the product key.
    (3) I tried the product key Windows 7 Professional 32 bit I have with the SP1 and RTM version without success.
    (4) I am 100% sure that I'm in the keys properly. Without typos.
I don't know what I can do. What I am doing wrong? Is there hope for my situation? I don't want to spend money so please do not suggest buying another copy.
An explanation I can find is that I actually purchased the Windows 7 Professional 32 Bit update.  If this is the case, what are my options?  I recently explored microsoftstore and recently found a Windows 7 Professional Upgrade sold to students it might be what I bought.  So, what should I do?
    Edit:
I remember that one of the reasons why I want to get Windows 7 Professional was because of Aero and the only Windows Vista who have not Aero has Windows Vista Home Basic is the type of the operating system has been installed at that time, but I still have not the product id or the product key for this factory installed OS. Personally, I removed the sticker at the rear of the laptop thinking hey what I need at the moment? I don't have Vista any more I have the product key for Windows 7 that I just bought.  But now I need it. :/ I hope someone has a solution out there.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions and help.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.

When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer

    Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click the link x days before activation.

Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.

    Enter the product key

    Click next

Select the Activation of the phone

Click Next when you enter your key page

    Select your country

Click Next, call the number listed

Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.

Provide the installation generated when ID requested by the call agent

They give a confirmation ID in return, enter it

Click next to complete the activation.

  • Kodak esp3250 drivers do not install on Windows XP Professional 64-bit

    Hello

I just want to ask if it is possible to download drivers for my Kodak ESP 3250 printer. I heard that it is not compatible with Windows XP Professional 64-bit machines, but I think that it is not true.
    Thank you
    Zuga01

If you really have XP Pro x 64 (which is rare), you're right that current software/driver Kodak for its all-in-one printers (including the ESP 3250) will not work for your operating system.  See http://support.en.kodak.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/32108/selected/true

It is possible that Kodak may have an older version of its software that works.  See http://support.en.kodak.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/23858/related/1/selected/true

  • Clean install of Windows 7 Professional on a new ssd.

I intend to buy an ssd. my pc was originally run under windows vista and I had him upgraded to windows 7 Professional. is it possible to do a clean install of my windows 7 Professional on the new ssd? If so, how? and Microsoft will allow this? It's always the same pc.

If you have a win7 upgrade version, you must install the earlier version of the victory first then move to win7.

If your version of Vista was preinstalled by the PC manufacturer you pourriez have encountered problems with your recovery disc for the ssd.

Personally I would not buy a smaller than 256 GB ssd

Depending on the size of your current C drive, it might be better advised to clone the SSD using a third party, software of imagery of the installation, for example Acronis TI, as she has more options than the buit in win7 imaging tool

  • Can I do a clean install of Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on Vista Ultimate 32-bit upgrade. Installation file will not work. The error is described below.

The XPS 730 with Intel Q9450 computer yourself running Windows 7 64 bit? The details of performance show that it is capable of 64-bit. When I try to install Windows 7 pro 64-bit upgrade, the installer will not work. I get an error that reads:
The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows that you are running.

I'm currently running Vista Ultimate 32 bit. Everything that I read on Microsoft and elsewhere says that you can go from Vista 32 bit to an operating system Windows 7 64-bit as long as you do the clean install. I'm that far away since I can't even run the installation.
Maybe nobody knows what could be the problem?

    Hi Hal K,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Answers.

If you are currently running a 32-bit version of Windows, you can only perform an upgrade to another 32-bit version of Windows. Similarly, if you run a 64-bit version of Windows, you can perform an upgrade to another 64-bit Windows version.

If you want to move from a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version of Windows, and vice versa, you will need to back up your files and then perform a custom of the version of Windows you want to install installation.

  • Fingerprint reader not working on M6-1045dx after a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

Hi all, I wanted to do a clean install on my new laptop and it's the only thing that I can't seem to make it work so far. The validity on the HP website driver is installed, but there is no software security listed for this device. I tried Protecttools and he said he has not been supported on this device, I tried too Pass Simple and it wouldn't start without crashing. I'm not even sure that I install the correct software. Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    David

Perhaps the best thing you can do is to install the version of HP SimplePass latetst of AuthenTec.  It's a version of 'up' of what is currently available at HP and has all the features and functionality you need to SimplePass.  You will also be able to import your file, .tsd (backup password) If you have in your facility.

    • Download HP SimplePass of AuthenTec (V5.4.0.620).
    • Extract using 7-Zip software.
    • Double-click to start the installation process.
  • Clean install of Windows 7 SP1 (64-bit) error 8024402F

    * Edit - I've redirected to the Windows Update team.* network

After you perform a new installation of Windows 7 using the SP1 64 bit DVD, I get the error 8024402F.

I did this same setup on 2 computers last week and had the same error on both computers.
Things I've tried that don't work:
    • Tried to wear this laptop to my home network to install the updates
    • I tried to run the Microsoft Fix It tool
    • Automatic updates disabled with all the boxes
    • Changing DNS settings
    • Firewall disabled
    • TinyWall installed
    • Installed using .net 4 web install
    • Upgrade to IE9 using offline Installer
    • Tried to run a Bat file that disables and enables services
    • Delete / rename the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution
    • System analysis tool
    Things to Note:
    • I am able to use Windows Update correctly on other computers very well. Just not those freshly installed SP1
    • Yes, I am able to connect and browse the internet
    • All the drivers seem to be working properly
    • I checked my router and nothing seems out of the ordinary

I don't know there is more that I don't remember.

I did this same process probably a hundred times without any problem using this DVD and goes directly from SP1 to install updates windows 100 +. Only in the last week or two, something has changed on the Windows Update site that doesn't allow me more start installing Windows updates since a disc newly formatted with W7SP1.
Were there changes in Windows updates in September/October? Is there a patch for this?

    SUCCESS!

Here's what I found out, see if it works for you as well.

Apparently, my ISP (mediacom) blocked the traffic for Windows Update. I installed a VPN client free to go around them and all updates installed. Now that the machine is updated, I have need the VPN client to the optional updates.

Since version original SP1 was not updated and managed Windows 7 32 bit, I can only assume that update server or the type of traffic for Windows 7 64 SP1 is different. I did not have a capture of packets, so I can't say with certainty.
