  • Windows 7 changes the screen resolution when video applications go full screen.

When I have plenty of screen some video players, that the resolution of the screen on just the ordinary 1080 p 1080 p (native) that has a refresh rate of 60 hz. As soon as I exit full screen it activates again. Would be nice but when it switches the screen is no longer fits the screen and the user interface looks very grainy, the video actually looks very good. Windows Media Player 12 for this, while VLC does not, which leads me to believe its something to do with the way that Windows Media Player makes video (which I think it uses Direct x, which uses VLC OpenGL).  I have this problem on my computer and my brothers computer I customized built. The specifications are very similar, other that my computer has an Nvidia GTS 250, and has a Nvidia GTX 275.  Is there anyway to stop it from doing this?

Just in case people always have a problem with this problem, pls here's a solution that worked for me...

I spent the last month trying to solve this problem, and "youemailme" (another thread here) had the correct solution for me! And so Simple!

I noticed on Blogs that this problem has existed for at least Win98 is not your computer or your operating system.

The question seems to be programs in your Menu has a different screen resolution to set startup, thereby causing the screen resolution change when you start your computer. This isn't a MicroSoft program error, but rather a question of "settings".

With me, what worked were 2 things:

    (1) perform the 'clean boot process' as advised by many to determine which granted software was causing the problem... and then.

    (2) right click on the name of the program (as discovered in above) 'problem' in the Start Menu > properties > compatibility.  For some reason, there is an option to "run in 640 x 480 screen resolution", which has been verified.  This program was in the startup folder and the cause of the problem.  Then unchecked the resolution box. No problem.

In my view, there are a large number of people dealing with this exact problem. I hope that this process of step 2 could solve their problems.

(ps, just thinking about it now, you might not even bother with the 'clean boot process' but simply go through all your programs in your Start Menu and run the 2nd step explained above. Should work?)

    See you soon

Re Windows XP: At the opening of the hearts, the window is very small.   How can I increase the window to fill the screen.   Double click on the top panel does not work.

    Hi Rosa,.

The size of the window for Hearts is actually design in Windows XP.

However, there is a solution. You can follow these steps:

    Step 1

    a. first of all, copy the game.

    b. click Start, all programs, games.

    c. right-click on the game of hearts .

    d. Select Properties from the list.

    e. press the button find the target on the next window.

    f. right click on the highlighted file and select copy.

    g. then paste the copy on your desktop.

    h. right click on your desktop.

    i. Select Paste from the list.

    Step 2

Finally, we will change the resolution for the game setting:

    a. right click on the game you just pasted on your desktop.

    b. Select Properties from the list and click the Compatibility tab.

    c. put the check box marked "run in 640 x 480 screen resolution.

    d. now whenever you want to play, click on that game on your desktop and it opens in mode full screen using the widest possible cards and numbers.

    Hope the helps of information.

  • SSD upgrade and now get "non-genuine windows" message at the bottom on the right.

I had Win7 successfully running for a month and chose to upgrade my SSD to a more capacious.  Use of Norton Ghost, I copied (cloned) system on the new drive.  After off, reset the player to the new SSD in BIOS and reboot, all I get is a clear blue screen with the «...» Windows is not genuine"message in the lower right corner of the screen.  I stopped, restarted and reset the original boot drive in BIOS, and now the drive gives me the same message.  So I have no Win7 working more.  Thank God I still have my old XP running.

    Any ideas or advice?

I've erased successfully to the top of my problem using the system restore.  I discovered an image file system intact and recent on my network which I copied on a USB key and the following restoration that everything is now works as before, and Windows is once more authentic.

Thank you all for the suggestions.

  • I need help importing my old Windows contacts in the Mail application

    Windows mail for windows 8

I just want my old windows mail contacts to people or post... I have saved the files to an expansion disc... but can't find how to put the files in the people... where can I find out how to do this?

    Hi Ellentavino.

You can't import contacts of the PPP to Win 8 people directly.  However, if you go to http://people.live.com and choose manage it gives you the ability to import Outlook or a CSV file.

Once these contacts are imported - it might take a while but they will eventually be replicated down to the people app in Windows 8.

    Hello

    ·         Make sure you have this problem in safe mode.

    ·         Diagnose the drive in the search for errors

    ·         Make sure you have no virus

    Method 1:

I suggest to restore the system to the Windows recovery environment and check to see if it helps:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/what-are-the-system-recovery-options-in-Windows-7

    Method 2:

Try to access the files in safe mode. You can click the link below to see how you can start in safe mode in Windows Vista.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Method 3:

Try to take permission of the drive in safe mode.

    (a) open your computer and right click on your hard drive.
    (b) go to Properties.
    (c) click Security.
    (d) click on Edit under a quote "To change permissions, click Edit."
    (e) click on Add.
    (f) typeeveryone"in the white box.
    (g) then check in the "total " box Control
    (h) press OK.

This makes the hard drive usable by everyone (all users and different computers)

  • Windows Vista crashes, the screen becomes pink with diagonal dotted lines

My HP Pavilion DV9500 laptop started making a few months ago:

The computer and the programs sometimes simply freeze, sometimes the screen becomes a light pink with diagonal lines dotted, and sometimes the laptop itself restarts without warning.  The computer is about 3 years old now and have not had any problems before this.  I tried to do a clean install of the recovery feature that I don't have a Vista disc to reinstall from, and he always does this.  Sometimes the computer will be fine for a few hours and sometimes just after the start it will freeze.  A couple of times too, as it starts, Windows will not start and it will say "Not found operating system".

  • Unlock windows box disappears after windows automatically locks the screen

    Hello

I have a professional Windows XP Tablet from Lenovo X 200 ongoing execution machine. This problem does not occur * too * often, but enough to be annoying.

After 15 minutes of inactiviy, windows is the standard screen saver routine by locking the desktop computer. Meanwhile, the white box that says click on Ctrl-alt-del to enter your password is visible. There is also the virtual keyboard on the screen.

From time to time, I go back to my computer to see that white box unlock is missing! There is no way for me to go back to windows! I have literally remove the battery and restart. During this time, I lost all my unsaved data... not to mention that I keep not the most graceful way.

This happened to someone? What in the world could be the cause?

    Thanks for the comments.

    Hi Jim_B_NJ,

    1. you have value to request password on Resume on the computer?

I suggest that scan you SFC on the computer that would be a system file corrupt on the computer search and replace.

The analysis may take some time, so be patient. Windows allows to fix corrupt or missing files it finds. If the information of the installation CD is required to fix the problem, you may be asked to insert your Windows XP installation CD.
