  I guess you mean not Mozilla Thunderbird. Mozilla Application Suite is a much older than Firefox 3.6.28 discontinuous product (the latest version is dated April 21, 2006).

• Oracle 11g on IBM - AIX 5.3 LPAR with VIO-Server

  We are researching the application of Oracle RAC 11 g on the solution IBM LPARS running IBM AIX 5.3 TL06
  These LPAR uses a VIO-server access I/o.
  Now a paper said THAT Violence is not supported for Oracle RAC, the other document's and jet of another State, it is only supported for use with the DSO
  
  Can someone point me to a site with real support information or can someone tell me if the RAC is currently working on an LPAR with a VIO Server

  You have a limit on the size of the file on your system as 2Go on older unix systems.

• Monitoring of virtual machines running on the UCS blades

  We are in the process of migration of servers HP rack to Cisco UCS blades. I have 4 blades UCS running ESXi and dΘmarrez from SAN. We have configured in HP SIM HP servers to monitor hardware issues and the status of the VM.   We monitor our UCS ESXi 5 with SNMP hosts and use Solarwinds NPM.  It works well.  These are the commands that we send through our VMA (free VMware) server to a new host.

  There's probably a way to do it on the console of the host, but I don't know what it could be.

• Call recording on the virtual machine running on Cisco UCS

  We evaluate the requirements for implementing call recording in our environment. Ideally the call recording server to run as a virtual machine on an ESXi host running like a blade on a Cisco UCS. I know that I need to set up RSPAN between my physical switches and turn the "Promiscuous" mode on my vSwitch which would be connected to the virtual machine. Where I'm stuck, how the NETWORK adapter that is connected to my vSwitch would be able to sniff this traffic? Are there requirements when I implemented the vNIC on the UCS or VMWare or under the physical being connected to the span port card desired traffic will get to my VM as a controlled traffic?

  Was asked to re-design of our QA here environment to the company that I work... It is a gesture of challenge will be a heavy task to accomplish... But currently, we have a whole list of requirements that must be met. We plan on using VMware to facilitate the provision of virtual machines on the side things Wintel and we also AIX in the backend for database for Oracle Rack servers, etc... The question I have to ask the community is... How is your configuration of the QA environment as in your business? What is current tread? Completely isolated? Create a subdomain in your current production environment and mix the two together that could be scary for me?  What is the best practice to implement appropriate QA environment before placing the code or upgrade software before he hits the production as a security guard? The other challenge also lies in the AIX servers and they cannot be updated as easily and quickly as VM servers.

  Advising several of the DBA in my shop to install the clusterware and ASM under an AIX user id (for example, crsuser) and then implement various database houses (we plan 2 databases for this cluster) under different pseudos of AIX software (for example, users oradb1 and oradb2). So the clusterware will run on AIX user id crsuser, and the first database would be executed using AIX user id oradb1, the second database would use AIX user id oradb2. Will this work?

• Simultaneous report runs very slowly when the output format is 'XML' on IBM 6.1

  We have recently updated one of our test server database IBM AIX 5.3 to 6.1 operating system. We are witnessing a strange question in the execution time-out of simultaneous reports that have output in XML format (no server of publication and the Publisher). Whenever the output format is set to XML, the execution time seem to have increased very high than it used to be less than 5.3. A report to take 10 seconds which takes about 4 minutes to complete which is huge in comparison. Information about the version as below

  Oracle EBS 11.5.10

  Oracle 10.2.0.4.0 DB

  IBM AIX 6.1 OPERATING SYSTEM

  Oracle reports 6.0.8.28.0 (I know old enough)

  We have solved the problem. I would like to share for the benefit of the readers of the community, if they are facing similar problems.

  The reason for the slowness of the report was due to lack of installation of the 'VIEW' option that is used when XML reports. Reports whose outputs are in format PDF, XML, HTML etc, Post Script, they all need a virtual display makes setup and configuration properties of config pointing to this server whenever settings are do. It could be a windows machine with X-Server running on it for display purposes or it could be services that are running on the same server for Unix/Linux applications where the application runs. We have installed VNC as X-Server that hosts services for virual (X) output for display on UNIX itself and have configured it in the reports configuration file. It seems to have solved the problem and the reports are run as expected (must faster!)
