IBM ThinkPad T41 disk HARD &; WiFi issues
Hello!
I use a laptop ThinkPad T41. Type/model number is 2373-2 FG.
I just bought a new battery for it and I'm going to a new Ultrabay Battery also.
I am strugling on a few things that I can't find information anywhere.
What is the size of the disk is the newest BIOS for this support of the model?
Can I get a HD 80 GB or 120 GB 2.5 "and just drag it in there?
The original 40 GB HDD is not big enough.
Also what kind of MiniPCI WLAN cards are supported by the most recent BIOS?
I just bought an Intel 2200 WLAN card so I could trade on the map of 2100.
I like the laptop as it is, but with a few adjustments, it would be much more usable.
You can even install the last WD 320 hard drive, it will work. Will to any portable PATA/IDE 9.5 mm.
Regarding wireless cards, any card listed at number 14 on this page works:

I hope this helps.

Problem with IBM Thinkpad X 40 (disconnection |) WiFi)
Hi all
I use IBM ThinkPad x 40 with XP Pro SP3 x 86. I have the latest drivers for my laptop:
Wireless driver LAN 2100 3B: driver - 02.08.2006 date; Version - 1.2.5.37
LAN Driver 1000 MT Mobile connection: driver - 20.08.2008 date; Version - 8.10.3.0
My router is Linksys WRT 320N, using new firmware: Ver.1.0.05 (Build 2) from 14/12/2011Note: The problem (the issue of sectioning) only occurs during downloding, video streaming, only when the connection is fully "charged".
I use my router with many other features wireless (also ' i' devices) and I do not suffer the same problem.
I hope that you will be able to help me.
Kind regards
saketo
Hi Alexander,.
I don't think that it's such a compatibility problem, as far as the card in the x 40 is a speed card B. By today's standards, it is quite slow. Don't get me wrong, I love my x40s. But, one of my friends had a speed card B in it and she would lose the connection on a regular basis. I put a map of 2200 BG in it and had no more problems with the connection and the download speed has increased significantly.
Edit: Your 40 x can also draw a 2915ABG wireless card. Scroll the Maintenance Manual of material for list items and there is one for Europe.
Here is a link to the Manual of Maintenance of equipment . Page 81 shows the wireless card. It is very easy to change, only 2 clips and 2 antennas, and these cards are real cheap these days.
Or, you can just use a USB wireless adapter to connect with.
One thing you can try if you are using xp has to go into Device Manager, right click on the wireless adapter and click Properties. Click the Advanced tab. Make sure the transmission power is set to the highest and feeding management is the highest.
If you use the Intel Proset software, make sure the Intel throughout the improvement has the highest value.

Installation of the operating system on a blank hard disk on ibm thinkpad

It is not so if the R50 would satisfy the minimum requirements for Win 7 for processor capacity, amount of memory sharp and others, but if there are Windows 7 drivers for the hardware incorporated into the machine.
I suspect that there are NO Windows 7 drivers for most hardware.
Look at the label on the bottom of the laptop and find the model/type number. It will be a 4 digit number with a 3 character alphanumeric suffix. Go tohttp://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/homeLenovo.do and enter the model type / in the box that says "Fast track" under ", choose your system" on the top right of the page. Click on the button GO and check fade available drivers are valid for Windows 7.

Hi, I bought an IBM Thinkpad with XP Home Edition pre-loaded in 2005 (the XP key sticker is on the bottom of the laptop), but did not receive an XP installation CD - I understand, it is a common practice. I want to improve the internal hard drive (for a bigger) then you will need to re - install XP from CD. They tell me that there is a way to create the XP (on the CD burner) installation installation CD but have no idea how. I can't imagine I'm the only person to have had this problem. Can you tell me where I can find the instructions how to do this please? Any help is welcome. Thank you very much.
There are many cloning utilities, but I recommend Acronis True Image. You can clone your hard drive, then use TI to the image of your system and to make incremental backups. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

IBM ThinkPad T43: Rescue and Recovery question
Hello
I have an IBM ThinkPad T43. The Rescue and Recovery program opens whenever I turn on my laptop after a failed attempt to restore my laptop to factory settings. I cannot even connect on Windows, because the Rescue and Recovery program opens upwards immediately after I turned on the power. I tried to restore my system to factory settings using the program and the product recovery disc I bought at Lenovo, in the hope of resolving the issue, but every time I'm prompt "IBM could not restore your system.
How can I stop Rescue and Recovery of the opening and resume with normal startup in Windows? What should I do so that I am able to restore my laptop to factory settings?
Please help if you have any suggestions. I appreciate it greatly! Thank you!
You can use this TI pc doc disk bootable http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-56222 its been a long time since I used it, but I think that in the top right there is a tab that says utilities or something like that you can wipe the HARD drive from there as I've always used the quick option worked for me

Well, I reinstalled windows xp pro sp 2 on my grandfather's old ibm thinkpad models Z60t, because he gave it to me and I didn't need half of the stuff on the hard drive. So I reinstalled xp and I do not have driver disks or backup discs. I went on the Lenovo site and tried to download the drivers on my desktop and transfer them to my laptop. I reinstalled the wireless driver but it is not working properly. It won't let me connect to the internet. In addition, it doesn't let me put the computer on standby.
Help, please.
Install update of the system from here:
http://support.Lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?&LegacyDocID=MIGR-66956
Who should find most if not all of the drivers that you miss.
Then proceed to the dial-up connections to:

Good luck.

Optical drive for IBM Thinkpad R50e, type 1834.
Have been looking for a DVD RW for an IBM Thinkpad R50e drive, type 1834. This has proved to be not easy.
The support page from Lenovo for DVD options for "hard disk, CD-ROM and the options of DVD - ThinkPad R50, R50e, R50p, R51, R51e", located at http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-53136, States 'Note: not supported with the ThinkPad R50e systems.» And my model, 1834, is indeed not listed as supported in the "optical drive options.
Why, when I specify the model and the type I have, so a lot of readers not supported those listed and not supported? I'm not interested in optical drives that does not fit. I would like to know who does.
I do not have the old original disk so I can't check the number of parties on the matter. So, what number of coins is the DVD RW drive has that fits the IBM Thinkpad R50e, type 1834?
Oerjan Pettersen
one of them will work 92 p 6575 / 13n6827 / 39t 2723 / 39t 2861 it says not supported because it came with the cd-rw/dvd not dvd - rw

Install OSX 10.11.4 I do cleaning but R command will not work. With the help of USB keyboard so not wifi issues to to worry. Help?
Would you like to share why you must do a clean install?
You can try the recovery of the internet (which will work if your older model has been updated to enable of): hold command + Option + R until you see a progress bar (take a while). It will connect you to the Apple servers. When you see the utility window, choose disk utility to erase your disk and when you're done, choose to reinstall OS X.
Computers that can be upgraded to use OS X Internet Recovery - Apple Support
PS: Correction: I think not yours can be updated; in this case, you will need the original installation disks to wipe the drive and reinstall.

Hello
Can you please write a little bit more kill your issue? Since when you noticed this problem? What did you do last time? Maybe installed WXP and now the HARD drive is not visible for the BIOS or does not appear when you use F12 at startup?
Please write a little more. I don't think that the service can't do anything.

IBM Thinkpad T30
Type: 2366
Manufactor Date: July 2003
OS: Windows XP Pro SP3
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 1.9 Ghz
RAM: 512 MB
HARD drive: Hitachi DK23FA-60
Graphics card: ATi Mobility 7500 w/16 MB RAM Radeom
I realize it's a very old laptop but it still works to this day and I use it every day.
I've been a bit online and I found that there is a design with the motherboard fault. More precisely the location of the hard drive and RAM above the other causes a lot of heat build-up to this place. IBM (now Lenovo) offered a repair or replacement of the laptop for a few years I know. My question is Lenovo continues to do this or not? I got this laptop a month ago and a half, so I have not long. Unfortunately I have no money to even pay for the repair and even less to ship for repair. Is there something I can look at?
Welcome to the forum!
It's been years since the replacement program of the Board of Directors on T30 units had ended.
Your best bet is to install a single 1 GB DIMM in the 'healthy' location and use the machine like this if one of the RAM slots failed.
Good luck.

If so, you will need to get a drive OEM from a friend and use your key. Make sure that it is a key OEM and OEM disk during installation.

The IBM Thinkpad T-40 of work with this power adapter: 83: 6339
One of my friends had an old AC adapter his garage to a true old IBM Thinkpad laying around and gave it to me. The reference number of the AC adapter is 83 H 6339. My wife bought an IBM Thinkpad T-40 who only has the docking station with power but does not connect directly to the laptop. I wanted to know if this old AC adapter would be compatible with the T-40 (2373-72U). I don't want the hook upwards and the chance to spoil anything either, but I can find no record on what types of this adapter is supposed to work with laptops.
hankinsd, welcome to the forum,
I would not use it, it's an adapter sector 56W and too 'low '. The T4 series requires an adapter of sector 72W.
Hope this helps
