iCloud causes problems of storage on iPhone

Since I bought the storage space additional iCloud and moved about 60 GB of files, I receive the error message "almost out of storage" on my phone.

Despite Apple claiming that these files should have no effect on my iPhone storage, they are certainly the cause.

That's how I know:

I've removed these 60 GB of files, was installing a new my iPhone, downloaded and synced all my apps, photos and music and then observed my iPhone storage for a few days. He remained at 6.2 by more than a week.

Then I passed the 60 GB of files on my Mac in iCloud and inside minutes I observed my iPhone storage down to 6.1 GB and the next morning at a little more than 1 GB, where he remained.

I don't understand this. As I said, according to Apple, this data should have no effect on the storage of my iPhone.

There isn't really much point in buying storage extra (in my case 200 GB) iCloud if it affects your iPhone storage (16 GB in my case).

Does anyone have any ideas?

These files you 'shifted' come from your photos to Mac?

How do transfer you to iCloud?

If they were photos and you the synched to your library of photos from iCloud, they are supposed to be sent to your phone. This is how works iCloud. It is no-storage device, it's a synchronization service.

  • problem with storage space - iPhone 4 - 32 GB

Hello, I have an iphone 4 32 gb. I'm having a problem with storage space. A few days ago, that even though I was taking 5 GB of empty space, a notification appeared that storage is almost full. I deleted about 2 GB of photos and videos. He showed me 2 GB of free space, but after 1 hour again the same notification appeared. As soon as I have emptied my space with about 1 to 2 GB by deleting photos or videos, it is completed with other data.

How should I solve this problem?

    Thank you.

What is the exact wording of the message? Could he be referring to iCloud storage?

Hello. I so want to know if there is a way to keep the photos on icloud and get them deleted on your iphone, so that there is no problem of storage of the device.

iCloud is a synchronization system, not an external 'hard drive '. If you remove them on your device, they will remove icloud. To increase the available space, go settings/iCloud/Photos and select optimize iPhone/iPad storage. That will reduce the space required by 90% when it is fully effective.

Any Mac that can run Mountain Lion can run El Capitan, as long as the conditions are identical.

Too little information: you must identify the model of your iPhone and explain exactly your problems. There is no way that anyone would be able to help otherwise.

  • ICloud BIG problem of sharing photos!

    Hello

My albums of shared photo stream are all grayed out. I restarted my iPhone and I tried waiting, but it simply doesn't. What should I do? I have so many pictures on it. I really need help, someone please help!

Even some of my photos from camera roll are gray. There's the funniest photos I erased yesterday who were in my photo stream are appearing and everything else is all gray and I cannot access the pictures.

It's a huge problem, I have enough storage on my phone too. I don't know what the problem is. My iphone 6 has been trolling with photos and it broke down a few times too. If anyone can help me, I would be really grateful.

Log on to https://www.icloud.com and see if your photos are available

If they are - try to reset the connection on the phone iCloud

    Sign up for iPhone

    Disconnect from the iCloud

Do a forced reboot - after all open applications using the app Chooser - invoked by fast double pressing the home button and drag upwards on each app until it disappears from the screen.

Meet the sleep/wake and home buttons down until you see the logo  - then release and allow normal start upward

    Then reconnect

  • Enabling iCloud library fills a storage capacity on macbook air

So I try to upload my pictures on iCloud to free up storage on my Macbook air.  Besides the fact that this process seems to take forever, I noticed when it goes I'm actually losing space on my hard drive.  This caused the upload stop and gives me the error message indicating that I have no more space on my hard drive and the process cannot continue.  I made sure the storage parameter optimize is on so that I do not download originals to iCloud.  Also, when I turn off iCloud, I don't have storage space.  So I have the feeling that anything that is uploaded is downloaded several times.

So my question is what is being downloaded, and how to delete to free up more space on my hard drive?

The use of the photo library of iCloud frees space on your Mac, it uses the same space, as it would if you do not use. So if you don't have enough space on your Mac to fit photos, you'll have enough space to use the photo library.

    Try another service for storage.

  • Is there a way to download photos from my iPhone to my photo library iCloud without having my iCloud all that downloaded on my iPhone photo library?

I just got a new iPhone 7. I was able to import all of my photos and videos of my previous iPhone 6 on my photo library to iCloud. I would like to import the photos that I take on my current iPhone to my previous library without going through my library iCloud just downloaded on my current iPhone. I would just like to see all on my Mac. Is it possible that it is possible? Thank you.

I'm not entirely sure or understand what you're asking.  If you import pictures from your device, it is stored in iCloud photo library.

If you're wondering if it is possible to store photos only in iCloud, and not the on your device, the answer would be no, because iCloud is not traditional storage cloud based, i.e. it is a sync/mirroring system, allowing you to synchronize all your photos on all of your devices and make them available instantly , or almost immediately in some cases.

  • additional icloud and full phone storage

    Hello

I have an iPhone 6, which currently has no free space. For example if I go to take a picture, I'm greeted by pop up saying that I have more storage and need to manage to clear space.

I have a 50 GB of space icloud, but appears not to me will benefit all. How can I make my iPhone the icloud allows to store photographs instead of on my phone?

    Hello

The following support article explains the difference between the storage (on your iPhone) device and iCloud:

We have two iPhones, two iPads, two MacBooks. On all the calendar events synchronize correctly via iCloud except the inscriptions on the iPhone 6 +. They don't publish to other devices even if the phone receives entries from all of the other devices. All the settings on the iPhone 6 + match those on other devices. All iOS and OS 10 software is up-to-date. Anyone have any ideas on what could be the problem?

    Hi there, therex!

It seems that you have done your inquiry very well and it seems you have reduced to the iPhone 6 Plus. But, since you need see events sent from the phone on all your devices, I'll be happy to help you.

Archive or make Copies of your Calendar (s) -as you work with live data, be sure to not skip this step to protect the information already there.

Get help using iCloud calendars - test all the steps, but it has been my experience that I forgot to put this particular calendar as my default calendar.

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support and have a great day!

  • If all of my pictures are on iCloud can I delete from my iPhone without losing anything in iCloud?

Only, I expanded my iCloud to 200 GB storage so that all my photos on my iPhone can be stored via the cloud.  On my phone memory is exhausted and I'm hoping that iCloud allow me to store pictures, videos, docs, etc., so that I can delete it on my phone and not lose one of these digital resources.  Can you confirm that I can delete photos, videos and documents locally on my phone and still access iCloud?

iCloud is a synchronization system, not an external 'hard drive '. If you remove them on your device, they will remove icloud. To increase the available space, go settings/iCloud/Photos and select optimize iPhone/iPad storage. That will reduce the space required by 90% when it is fully effective.

Need more storage on iPhone 64 GB with 25.5 used for photos.

I signed up to 50 GB of storage iCloud, but there is nothing to help give me the opportunity to take more pictures on my iPhone.

What can I do to be able to use my camera on my iPhone?

Use iCloud photo library and configure the phone for pictures using optimized (this requires an internet connection to see photos high resolution since they will not be on iCloud and any device not using not optimized photos))

  • How can I send my music to icloud and free up storage on my ipad that is full

I own an ipad and iphone 6. the ipad is about 4 years old approx. full of downloaded and transferred other CDs and my storage capacity is busiest. How can I send my music to icloud and free up storage on my ipad. My iphone has not been synchronized with ipad. Cannot update my ipad for this reason software also.

    Thank you very much

You can send music in the cloud of a device. You can delete music, and if it's purchased iTunes music you (if it is still in the store and you have not reached the country since purchasing it) may of it redownload purchased in the iTunes Store app tab. Because you own music (for example copied from CD) you'd need have subscribed to Match iTunes on your computer and downloaded the music to her computer, to show him in the cloud.

You have all your music in your computer's iTunes library? Update of the iOS via a computer version should also require less free space on the device (but the update via a computer requires your content in the iTunes library, the update process will take up a back, wipe the iPad and install the iOS update and restore the backup, the backup contains things such as your documents photos, contacts, settings, etc, music, apps, etc. is picked up in the iTunes library)

  • ios9 optimize storage of iphone does not?

I have an iPhone 4S with 16 GB of memory running with iOS 9.1... I have run out of memory and decided to use the option 'optimize iPhone storage '. I currently have about 4 GB of photos on this phone. I am using iCloud photo library and have confirmed that the photos were indeed uploaded to iCloud. Even though I have "IPhone storage to optimize" checked, my pictures are always 4GB expands on my iPhone. I don't optimization works. Any ideas?

    Thank you, Mike C

I don't think Apple has released the details in-depth the feature, but what I've seen so far indicates that the photos will remain on your phone to their size, until space is needed for something else. It occurs immediately after the activation of the iPhone Optimize storage option.
