iCloud keeps asking me to update Firefox

I try to get iCloud to synchronize my Firefox bookmarks and it says first "Upgrade required". I'm on the latest version and I installed the extension iCloud. iCloud always said "Upgrade required" so I rebooted the machine, but it still does not work. iCloud works fine with IE and Chrome favorite.

The computer is running Windows 7 Professional, and the version of Firefox is 24.0.

Is there something else you need to do?

Thank you

Start Firefox in Mode safe to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

To turn on safe mode

  • You can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
  • Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.
  • Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

If it works in Mode safe mode and normal mode with all extensions (Tools > Modules > Extensions) off and then try to find which extension is the cause by allowing an extension at a time until the problem reappears.

Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit ' (Windows: Firefox/file > quit;) Mac: ' Firefox > quit Firefox. " Linux: "Firefox/file > exit ')

  • Firefox keeps asking for an update, but is unable to complete. It is stuck on the "Connecting to Server" and turns for hours until I stop. Help!

I have a version of Mac OS X 10.5.8 and I used Firefox on it since I got it 3 years (?). The most recent update for Firefox and Thunderbird guard invites me, but when I say 'yes' to update, a bar with lines moving through it, and he said: "Connecting to the update server", but it is never a more far. I left for hours at a time and it does actually update or another program.

If you have problems with the update then more simple is to download the full version and trash the version currently installed to do a clean install of the new version.

Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the file on the desktop DMG

    • Trash the present application Firefox to do a clean (re-) install
    • Install the new version you downloaded

  • iCloud keeps asking for password on iPad, iPhone, and Macbook Air

I have a Mini iPad, iPhone 6 and Macbook Air, which is still invited to enter my password to iCloud.  All have BONES perfectly up-to-date.  On the iPad, I did a full erase and restore, nothing helps.  Since then, I also signed on iCloud and signed in on the iPad, I have not tried who still on other devices.  My iCloud username is an @me.com format, so I made sure that all newspapers in places (FaceTime, iTunes Store, messaging, etc., use this journal, even if I have a @icloud.com email too.)  I disabled 2 authentication and password specific to the Messages and FaceTime App.

It seems to have something to do with email in particular.  On the Macbook Air from Apple email program, I get a message on the main window connection failed, and then the iCloud account is set offline.  I have to retype the iCloud password and/or exit and restart messaging to operate.

Another thing pointing to the problem being with email that I have disabled all Push email for the iPad, and the password are stopped.  Then, when I try to retrieve messages manually, the prompt is displayed again.

I'm out of ideas.  One thing I did not must give a new password, to disconnect all devices, then add them, one by one.

Any help would be really appreciated.

    Thank you

  • How can I stop Firefox asking me to update?

The options menu "inform, but do not update," account with no way to turn them off completely. But, since Firefox is apparently just as arrogant and stupid Microsoft programs, Firefox absolutely refuses to stop accepts my answer of 'no' and then no more wonder... I can't imagine why someone would update voluntarily to Firefox 3.6.4, because this adds 1.5 x memory of Firefox which is already a big eater of HUGE according to the Task Manager memory, by adding another process that does absolutely nothing useful at all (all pages 'crashed' must be rebooted anyway - and that's all of them (, not one). It should be pretty obvious to Firefox engineers that no one would ever downgrade from 3.6.3 to 3.6.4, so I do not see why he keeps asking me to update, but I really need to know how to turn it off.

Go to Tools-> Options-> advanced-> update and uncheck the box that says Firefox and click OK

I have a strange problem. Whenever my computer starts and launches creative cloud, Lightroom CC (2015 version) invites you to update the application:

    Lightroom reinstall.JPG

I do the update, but it keeps asking me to update, the next time the computer starts, or even without restarting, it just request again after an hour or two.

    What could be the problem?

    What ca I do you?

Thanks for your time and suggestions.

Apparently, there was a URL open in my Google Chrome, which directed me to install the version of Lightroom.

It was re-opening because Google Chrome saves the last session, I was on, and whenever the URL has been opened, it is suggested to install the old version of Lightroom.

  • My computer crashed and it restarted I asked me to refresh Firefox. I have now lost all my favorites etc. There is no 'old Firefox data' folder - help!

My computer crashed (blue screen) and when it restarted a box came asking me to update Firefox. Hi, you can try it for only bookmarks: first open the bookmarks > show all bookmarks > import and backup > restore and see if you have a backup there.

If not and the other favorites, please see.

  • My computer keeps asking me to restart to complete the installation of Firefox

I just tried to upgrade to Firefox 8 and was asked to restart my computer. During its restart and try to run Firefox, I kept getting a message asking me to restart my computer. I've done several times and kept getting the same message.

I found somewhere on the web that the problem could be due to some windows update that requires restarting the PC. When you press this firefox prompt restart, update of victory is not done, so it remains pending and firefox will keep asking you to restart.
Just make all the updates to windows, and then start/stop normally, so that windows gets all those sorted. After that, install firefox again and it should be ok. Mine is and I had the same problem. Discovered that I had 10 updates to windows that require a system shutdown. Those, and then installed FF8 and everything is back to normal.

  • Why Developer edition of Firefox ask me to update?

It isn't really a problem, but Firefox Developer Edition ask me to update to version 44.0a2, which I already

What version of Firefox do need it?

Do you need a stable version as the rejection, or even the beta version that will become the next version and get an update about twice a week?

Or you don't mind updating daily with one using a generation night to test new (unfinished) features that will be part of a future version?

The Nightly alpha1 channel sometimes gets a respin, and if you missed the first update then you will need to download the full version (45 MB).
Editing (alpha2) does not get a respin because that only code that has relied on the Nightly channel for some land of week on the update channel, as well as the channel is a bit more stable.

Our that it is always recommended to install the current version, or at least the beta if you decide to use one of the alpha versions, so you have a relief if certain Web sites or of any browser does not work.

  • What is the problem with Firefox? He keeps asking me to restore my tabs!

Well, I turned on several tabs, and when I close all the tabs, I intended to do, I clicked EXIT when Firefox ask me if I really want to close them. But the next time I turn on Firefox (even after I shut down my computer for 2 or 3 days), he repeats that «well, it's embarrassing...» "and ask me if I want to restore, instead of my home page. I thought that it will happen just once, but it happens every time! It is not an accident or a Firefox stop my tabs, I stop them myself, so why Firefox keeps asking me to restore? Sometimes, I just open the Google Web page, and then close, he always ask me to restore. Can someone help me solve this problem?

PS: I already tried to uninstall, download the latest version and install it, but it does not work.

    You are welcome.

  • Why when I try to update Adobe Flash, it ask me to remove Firefox.

13.0a2 Aurora, on Ubuntu 11.10, using can't play flash with the Gnash plugin current; When I try to update Adobe Flash, it ask me to remove Firefox.

Not sure if there is no default restrictions you may have to substitute. Also, I think that Synaptic should be offering at least Flash 11, except perhaps the default Firefox with Ubuntu is 64-bit. If you have downloaded the Mozilla's Aurora zip package, you can try to create a plugins folder in the extracted folder firefox as shown in the Readme Adobe. That way you would the regular Firefox for Ubuntu with Gnash, as well as the future Firefox with Flash and maybe Squeak. Please note that it would be a good idea to create another profile (for eg. aurora) and switch between the two profiles for Firefox and Aurora to prevent the possible alteration of personal data. Ubuntu forums would also be very useful.

  • Impossible to update - unable to remove the old version and install new - constantly asking me to close Firefox - it IS closed!

Having been invited to update I clicked Yes. Update failed. I tried to update manually on the site but had to close Firefox before you start - Firefox was closed. I tried to uninstall the old version so that I could install the new le neuf-- once again asked me to close Firefox before it could be uninstalled and again, it was already closed. Stuck now - no idea what it takes to get the new version. O.

    Hi Jean Claude,

Firefox can always run in the background. This happens sometimes. I suggest that you try to restart your computer, and then try to uninstall the old version. Alternatively, you can try to right click on the task bar, then opening the Task Manager. This will show you the list of processes currently running on your computer. If Firefox is running, you can manually kill the process.

There is also an article in the Knowledge Base containing information on what to do if the How to resolve the failure of the update of Firefox update error message. There is lots of useful information here.

    Hope this helps!
