iCloud photo library and FIRST photos in iOS

I would like to enable capture of RAW files in iOS 10. I have a 256 GB 7 iPhone +, but at 30 MB per DNG, storage will be used quickly if I don't get the photos on the phone regularly.

It is true that I am still unclear on iCloud photo library works. I activated on my iPhone, but I think it means it stores the photos on the phone and also downloads in the cloud?

If I had to come home every day and transfer the DNG on my Mac and remove them from my phone, I assume that they will have is no longer a storage space on my phone, but would take place in iCloud if they were downloaded before I moved out of my phone?

Looks like I should cut iCloud photo library if I am shooting RAW, since I would like to download very large photos that I don't necessarily want to keep?

iCloud is a synchronisation/mirroring service and not a traditional cloud solution based.  If you are looking for a more traditional based cloud solution, then consider using an application third, for example Dropbox, Flickr or Google Photos.

If I turn on iCloud library on my Mac and my iPhone, all existing photos in iPhone camera will roll and photo streams appear in pictures of my Mac?

And the existing camera roll photos will be downloaded on my Mac if I download original activated on my Mac?

The reason I ask this is pictures of my Mac is my master library of photos I want to keep. I could take 10 photos with my iPhone of a scene, but only to copy one of these ten photos to pictures of my Mac and I let all ten photos in the Filmstrip of the iPhone. I'm afraid that when I turn on iCloud photo library on my iPhone, I'll pollute my Mac with photos Photos, I don't want to keep.

With this in mind, would you recommend that empty of my film and photo stream iPhone before I have activate iCloud photo library on my iPhone?

    Thank you!

  • Is iCloud photo library space use doubled if I use Photos and iPhoto apps?

IPhotos and Photos apps right now: If an image appears at the same time it

be transferred twice (with the help of double the amount of space) in iCloud storage space?

IPhotos and Photos apps right now: If an image appears at the same time it

be transferred twice (with the help of double the amount of space) in iCloud storage space?

No, you can not use iCloud with iPhoto and Photos at the same time on the same computer.  Photo library only at a time can synchronize with iCloud (My Photo Stream, shared Albums, iCloud, library).  If you enable iCloud for a Photo library, it will be disabled for the previous library.

Sine you use Yosemite - in the first versions of Yosemite was a problem, and it was possible to activate my photo stream in iPhoto and iCloud library in Photos at the same time. But my photo stream does not count against your iCloud free storage, that is used for library iCloud, there is no overlap in iCloud photo library.

  • How to remove photos from my iPhone 6 s, without deleting icloud photo library on all my devices with ios 9.2.1?

I just updated my iPhone 6s ios 9.2.1 and whenever I try to remove photos from the iPhone library, it is said that they will remove the iCloud photo library on all devices. I don't want to do, I want to save the photos on my computer, but free up space on my phone. Help!

If you have iCloud library enabled in the iPhone then any photo that you delete from your phone is also removed to iCloud and all devices connected to this library to iCloud. It is not a setting or an option where you can change this while continuing to use iCloud photo library. You can reduce the space required on the phone by activating the settings > iCloud > Photos > optimize iPhone storage. You can suggest that Apple offers more options via: http://www.apple.com/feedback/icloud.html

  • I've disabled iCloud photo library by accident and lost all my photos in iCloud. I can find them somewhere in return?

Product: iCloud (library), iPhone on iOS 9.2.1 5s

I turned off my iCloud by chance photo library and now all of my photos in iCloud went. Is it possible to find somewhere?

Turn on again iCloud library unfortunately did not help.

Is there someone who can help? Thanks in advance!

Just turned off iCloud library should not delete your photos. However, if you went in to manage stock and selected disable and remove they would be deleted but they would stay at https://www.icloud.com/ for 30 days. It seems you want to use iCloud photo library as an archive of photos. It was not intended for this use.

iCloud Photo library FAQ - Apple Support

It is designed to allow you to have full access to your library without having to choose which photos and videos you store on which devices because it connects to your library using iCloud to all your devices, you registered this service. You can choose the option to Optimize Storage iPhone, which will automatically replace your photos in full resolution with optimized for your phone free storage.  Such use allows to my 64 GB iPhone store more 18 000 photos and 877 videos with fast access on my iPhone and elsewhere, while occupying only 4.8 GB on my physical device. The library full resolution resumes of more than 112 GB of storage which I can access in iCloud.com, on my computer, or by requesting the download of contents of high resolution on my iPhone with that I will make.

Otherwise, if this does not work for you, you can use other services, such as Dropbox, archive your library, so you can completely remove the photos from your iPhone. If you deleted pictures from your iPhone now, they would delete the iCloud photo library so that he be kept in sync as your Contacts or Notes.

  • My iCloud photo library is activated and it says space low disk - download 1 548 points but never actually download?

Why does say not enough space - download 1 548 points when I go into settings > iCloud > Photos?  I have iCloud library lit as well as download on my photo stream but it never downloads actually and my phone again a low disk space.  I have 50 GB of space with only 47.6 GB iCloud used so space should not be a problem.

"Low disk space" is probably what indicates that your phone is low on space... not iCloud. How much storage is on your phone? Go to settings > general > storage & iCloud storage and what is stated in high "STORAGE > 'Used' and ' available? Your iCloud-storage space is at the bottom of this page under "iCLOUD.

  • ICloud photo library - double images and memory iPhone 5 c problem

    Hello

After months of deliberation, I decided to convert my Aperture on Mac in photo library and link the family three iPads and my iPhone to iCloud photos. I made sure all software updates have been installed on all devices, including the Mac. After 22 days of continuous download, I have now all the pictures in the clouds!

However I have 2 problems. My 30 k + original images expanded to 40 k + with thousands of duplicates and my iPhone 5 c memory (8 GB - what a mistake!) is now full and I cannot take photos more or update applications on it. I guess that duplicates are albums on iPads.

Before I converted, I checked and the documentation stated that the Photos would be recognition of duplicates and not replicate in the cloud. I also checked the box to optimize the images on my iPad and iPhone not realizing that even with the optimization of the paltry memory on the 5 c would be totally inadequate - the iPad is very good.

Now I have more documented and install PhotoSweeper on the Mac seems a possible solution to the problem in double - the alternative is to go through each image!

Re the problem of the iPhone, the only solution I see is to stop the iCloud photo library on the phone and then remove the images on the phone. Who will free the memory, and I will then be able to take pictures I have to take pictures by other means. It's not ideal for a functioning flawlessly, but when my contract is up this summer the next phone will be a greater amount of memory and hope it will be seamless!

Any advice please before going further?

Photo Sweeper is a good package and works well and is course - so are duplicate Annihilator for Photos and PowerPhotos

You could try turning off ICPL on the small phone, cleaning of duplicates and leaving all s = complete uploads and downloads and stabilize and they new the on with photos on the iPhone - optimized it can handle then - worth a try

  • If I turn on iCloud local library, my library on my iMac remain intact and still receive new photos and videos as well?

I was using iCloud library until I received a message that my storage was almost full on my iPhone and I could take is more new photos or video.  I wanted to delete the pictures and videos from my phone to free up storage space, but it is difficult or not delete my files on my phone would also result in their be removed from the library thus iCloud.  So I decided to disable iCloud photo library and uploaded to my iMac (as I was given 20 days to do so).

I was under the impression that my local library of Photos on my iMac would always remain in tact and updated independently of the library to iCloud.  Isn't this true?

All help on this subject never mention 'Download' and 'Download' to and from iCloud, but there is nothing that confirms my library local photos remain in tact and current.  Someone can it confirm please?

I was under the impression that my local library of Photos on my iMac would always remain in tact and updated independently of the library to iCloud.  Isn't this true?

It is provided that you activate the photo stream instead.

but it is become difficult or not delete my files on my phone would also cause their be removed from the library thus iCloud.

With iCloud library enabled, you cannot delete a photo on a device (or iCloud.com) without deleting each device which uses iCloud photo library (iCloud.com). In order to save space on your mobile devices (and indeed your Mac if you want to) turn on the optimization of the pictures on these devices (settings > photos & camera > optimize storage on your mobile device and Photo preferences > optimize storage on your Mac)

Dynamic optimization, it reduces the resolution of your photos, if necessary, so that you don't notice it occurring initially. However, when necessary, it is very effective, and users have reported libraries being optimized for much less than 10% of their original size in some cases. My own library is about 9% of its original on my phone size.

  • Disabled by mistake to iCloud photo library and he turned his back.  Still says it will remove pictures

I disabled the iCloud photo library photos & soft adjustment camera, as well as any type of sharing.  I need try to free 13 GB of space which has been monopolized by ghost photos that were not on any device or even show in icloud.com.  Restarted the phone, the data was retrieved, and I re-enabled all elements in parameters, including iCloud photo library of photo sharing.  iCloud library, Optimize iPhone/iPad, storage, Upload to my photo stream, download Photos of Burst, iCloud, sharing photos, pictures to summarize all lit up.

The question I have is that I see the message:

"iCloud photo library will be removed from iCloud in 28 days.  Choose to download and keep the originals below to download a full copy of your photos and videos. »

That's fine, I have all my saved photos.  What I find that I am able to do is add any (as via iCloud.com Photos), as the 'Upload' button is grayed out and the same message appears on the header of the photos app page.

I want to reset it.  I thought that turn everything would have been fine.  But it seems to be stuck.  I activated on all devices.  It's frustrating because it is preventing me from getting things done on the fly, I'm used to because I can't upload pictures in the Photos app.

  • iCloud photo library and faces

I created faces on my library of Photos of MacBook and this morning has decided to turn on iCloud photo library on an iMac to remember all my originals.  All the photos were perfectly copied everywhere, but while the faces always works on the MacBook, it asks me to put in place new o the iMac... y at - it a way to turn it?

Also, I have a folder in 'My Albums' section, called, 'iPhoto events' and that there are 2 folders of photos from my iPhone.  How were these created?  If I delete a photo of these flows it deletes all my photos.  I think I can delete individual photos from these albums iPhone but they will remain in all the pictures and then I deleted albums and the record... is that sound right?

All the photos were perfectly copied everywhere, but while the faces always works on the MacBook, it asks me to put in place new o the iMac... y at - it a way to turn it?

ICloud library stores tags searchable faces, but not thumbnails of faces.

If you named a face on your MacBook, you can find this name in the search field in the Photos on your iMac. You will find photos, but the thumbnails will be missing. I would name a few faces manually on your iMac, then wait a few days for the recognition of face on the iMac to find thumbnails of faces and then use the search to quickly assign names for the thumbnails.  It will be faster that the original designation on your MacBook, because that Photosis make a good guess.  See this support document: use Photos and iCloud library on several Mac - computers Apple support

Also, I have a folder in the "My Albums" section called "iPhoto events."

The migration has created an album for each of these events you had in iPhoto or the projects you had in Aperture. (See this link: How Photos handles content and metadata for iPhoto and Aperture - Apple Support) If you do not want these albums, delete albums, then the folder.   Deleting an album or folder does not remove the pictures from the library.
