  Hi all

  The BIOS of this PC is supposed to be able to boot from USB. I installed Vista (ugh) on a disc. This disc has been in the PC to do the installation.
  I then removed the player from the PC equipped with another drive to the PC and installed XP (my favorite OS).

  XP starts very well. I then mounted the Vista disc to a box external and connected to the PC changed the BIOS to boot from the USB drive and reboot.
  While the PC seems to START to boot from the disc Vista finally makes an error message just after the initial loading of chart.

  I reversed the readers (mounted disk Vista on the PC and the XP disk to the USB box) and this time the PC boots Vista OK but the new external hard drive just gets the chart of loading for XP and gives the error message.

  Anyone got any ideas here please?
  I VERY rarely need to use Vista (thank God), but as I teach it is sometimes necessary.
  I know I could set up the dual boot on a disk but really need a capacity of complete drive for XP

  I read it and can't believe what you do. How did you come to the idea to run OS saved on the external HARD drive? According to your assignment, everyone can connect we own external HARD drive, OS boot and have full access to the s computer portable HARD drive and copy all sensitive files.

  We have almost 400 rack (R720 and R820) servers at the customer and the client asks for the serial numbers of the drives which placed on the servers. Each server has 16 disks. Is it possible to take serial numbers of the drives collectively via open manage, idrac, or any other way.

  Model two - Pavilion DV7 - portable hard drive

• How to better manage the storage of photos

  I have an iMac which is fill with photos. Right now I have almost all my photos in jpg form stored in the pictures folder, and I have also several libraries of pictures with all these pictures of the images in the library (I think). I have the option to store my Photos libraries on iCloud. In addition, I have a terabyte external drive on my desktop. Currently, I also have a paid subscription for (other than iCloud) cloud backup but it only backs up my primary hard drive on my iMac.

  I need to download pictures on my drive hard main iMac to save disk space. What I would like to delete all the photos in my pictures folder, but make sure first that they exist in a library of Photos. Then I want to move my library to the external drive terabyte, is going in the future with Photos and also their synchronization to iCloud from the external drive.

  Can someone tell me how to do (or do other suggestions)? More precisely:

  -How can ensure me that my photos stored in the images are all in one of my photo library

  -evaluate the wisdom of deleting all the photos in the pictures folder and according to the photo library with a backup in iCloud

  -iCloud score for libraries on the external hard drive (which may be obvious... have not yet watched)

  Look and see - there is no functionality to check this - if you import photos it should ignore the duplicates so you could import all of them - but who may or may not completely eliminate duplicates

  It is great except iCloud library is not a backup - is a synchronization service and any changes anywhere are manufactured everywhere - you need a local library with the original downloaded for saved locally - TimeMachine is a good start

  I've just upgraded my Aperture library to Photos and spent three weeks to download all my photos on the cloud.  Now that they are on the rise in the cloud, I was wondering if I can use iCloud to host images for posting on internet forums and others?  Many of them will not directly let you download a picture, a link just here where she is already hosted (using the [IMG] tags).  In the past I had used SmugMug for this, but it seems silly to pay two subscriptions for the pictures of clouds (my library is big enough I'll have to pay Apple a monthly fee for additional storage space).

  Shared albums use a different part of your library to iCloud iCloud. The storage of shared photos does not count against your iCloud subscription, but it is limited, see: iCloud: My Photo Stream and iCloud Photo Sharing limit

  Make sure that D: is not the partition recovery including the manufacturer put there to make the recovery disks from and eventually to return your computer to how you bought

  You cannot combine C: and D: and their data using the Vista Disk Manager

  iCloud library is essentially a synchronization services to keep your library in iCloud as centralized storage and reference to synchronize all volumes.  If you change a photo to one of your libraries on one of your devices, the changes will be updated in iCloud and synchronize all of your devices that are synchronizing with iCloud photo library. All libraries on all synchronized devices will always display the same pictures, montages, albums, metadata.

  So you will need a library t sync with your Mac.  To save storage, you can use the "Optimize Mac storage" option in the preferences to iCloud. Then the image original high-resolution fies will be stored only in icloud and your Mac will replace them with smaller and optimized, versions if the storage is not enough for the version high resolution.

  If you want to remove the cloud, you can do two things:

  System Preferences > iCloud > manage > photo library > remove and disable

  or

  iCloud.com > pictures (select and delete)

  Please note, however, if you enable iCloud library again at any time in the future on your Mac, all the photos on your Mac will download again. You may find that buying more space iCloud is the best answer for you.
