  Hi, so I have the HP Pavilion dv4 and my webcam did not work. Everytime I open the application for the webcam it will open and then freeze, then a window opens and say "HPMediaSmartWebcam has stopped working. Windows can check online for a solution to the problem. "I clicked on"search online for a solution and close the program"but that it is to close the program. Can I use my webcam on websites like cameroid or seenly but not the installed program. Please help me, thank you!

  Try the following.

  Download the latest installer of HP of Cyberlinks YouCam on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

  http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp56501-57000/sp56980.exe

  When the download is complete, open windows panneau Panel configuration, open programs and features, right click the entry for HP MediaSmart Webcam and select uninstall - once this process is complete, restart the laptop.

  When windows rebooted, open your download folder and double-click the installer for Cyberlink YouCam start the installation.  Once done, check if this contributed to the issue.

  5 restart the computer.

  If you look in the programs/HP / / Media Smart and expand the list, what do you see?

  When I checked the HP Pavilion dv6 - 3151ee Entertainment Notebook Software and Drivers page I noticed that there are separate for the DVD and video software.

  If you have not downloaded any software HP Media Smart or they are not listed when you checked programs/HP/Smart Media, and then try the download and installation.

  Have you tried running the HP Support Assistant?

  Have you tried MS Fix It to help overcome problems running?

  If it worked before, you could do a restore to where he worked.

  Since the release of El Capitan 10.11.6, favorites are missing from the smart search field in Safari to new Windows.  If a Safari any page web (so far), clicking in the search box if poster is Favorites to view icons, as is expected.

  Is this a bug, or can I make some adjustments to bring them new windows?

  Hello Dick Huitema.

  If I understand your message to the right, when you open a new window in Safari, you do not see your favorite icons in the smart search field.  When I use Safari, I always like to have my favorites available and ready to use, so I can understand why you would be tender for assistance with this.

  You probably feel that if Safari is set to open new windows in an empty page. If yours is configured in this way, there is a very easy way to get these favorites icons to show without actually changing any settings. When you open a Web page, you should see a blank webpage with your top search bar and a cursor blinking in the search bar. Instead click inside the search bar right away, click anywhere on the empty Web page and then click on in the empty search bar. You should then see your Favorites icons appear.

  Another option is to set your homepage to your Favorites. You can do it in Safari > Preferences. On the general tab in Safari preferences, select the drop-down menu next to "new windows open with", and then choose favorite. This should ensure that when you open new web pages, all your Favorites icons show immediately. Favorites icons always appear in the smart search field when additional tabs are open as well.

  I can't open the photos option in my Media Smart.

  He opened and allowed me to import photos 2, then I got a message that my Media Smart is not responding.  After a minute or two, the program closed.  When I went to reopen the photo, he has opened, but the elements I imported were not there.  I close Media Smart and reopened, nothing happened.   Then I rebooted my laptop computer and tried, nothing.  I tried the other options (TV, music, video, DVD, WebCam) and they opened.

• RAID is missing from the media browser

  RAID is missing from the media browser. I can see the RAID (AM VIDEO) icon to the trash but can be seen in the file directory. Double click the icon does not open the RAID. My work around is to place an alias of a necessary directory since the RAID on the office.

  RAID is an OWC Mercury Rack Pro and it is visible and functional in the finder. Problem occurs in CC and CC14

  I had a similar problem with an OWC Mercury Elite Pro. I reformatted the drive using file instead of the OWC utility utility and then it worked.

  Favicon changer is no longer totally compatible and is is more updated.
  Removing it solved the problem.

  If that were the case, try to use Recovery Manager to reinstall your original version of HP MediaSmart Photo - the procedure to use the Recovery Manager to reinstall the drivers and software is fully described in the document at the link below.

  After reinstalling, restart the computer.

  Leave windows completely, then open HP MediaSmart Photo and give it a few minutes to re - indexing all your images.

• Problem w/HP Media Smart Photo program on HP Pavilion Elite

  Hi, first time user here. I do a LOT of pictures like "gimmies" for friends and family, especially around the holidays. My computer just planted a fit recently and don't let me NOT look at my photos. I can download them and see the photos, but as soon as I try to click again to revisit, I get the following message: HP Media Smart Photo main program has stopped working. A problem caused the blocking of the program works correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. (Apparently it wasn't available yet!)  I tried all that I know, which isn't much I admit. I have a Geek Squad coverage but it's Christmas and they cannot get me to more important things - such as the installation of new sales. It's okay I bought two from them in two years. Lightning struck an and now I can not see pictures or do anything with photos on it. (Which means I can't order some presents that involves photos stored on THIS computer.)   After reinstallation is complete, restart the PC.

  When windows has completely recharged, open HP MediaSmart Photo and give it a few minutes to index all your photos again and then check if it opens correctly now.

• Program icons missing on the Vista Start Menu, all programs there, but the icons are hidden

  I use a PC running Vista 32.

  When you click on the start icon (circle of windows) I see a lot of white space (where the icons should be) then at the bottom it says all programs with an arrow. When I click on this all programs with arrow icons appear, but I normally click here to see the show. Do not know what happened...
  Appreciate any help.
  I should mention I tried to go to properties to customize the start menu and clicked on default settings, but it does not work.
