  The keypad lock is the A"" key. To unlock press on and hold the Mute button on top of your Bay for at least half a second. If you set a password under Options/Security, a new padlock icon appears. This can be set to a touch of comfort.

  Follow this, but remember, if you reset the phone, you need to do this again

  2. press the blackberry button.

  3. scroll to speed dial list.

  4. (you should be able to see all the contacts that you have assigned letters for) go to 'A' and press enter.

  5. Select a contact and press ENTER.

  Looks like you have updated to the point where the locking function changed. In older versions, you had an icon on the screen. In the latest versions, you use the power on top of the BB button do a keyboard lock. To get the icon back, you must activate a device password... then you will have an icon for Active password lock. How it works now, and the only way to change this is go back to a previous version, when the change was made.

  Hello, I'm new to BlackBerry, and I want to know how to password lock my Blackberry Torch. I put a password, but I assumed that it did not close the phone when I pressed the lock button on the top of the BlackBerry. But, I have to select "Password lock" in the menu and then it is locked.

  Is there anyway that I can make sure it locks when I press the botton of locking on top, instead of having to select it from the menu. Pleassee... I love this phone and I want everything to be perfect!

  Nope - are you witnesses is WAD - working as designed. There should be a "Password Lock" screen icon who may be more quick than using the menu (depending on where you have this icon, of course).

• Icon of Smartphones Wierd blackBerry I've ever seen before!

  I went to make a call today and noticed a strange icon on the screen of my BlackBerry Curve 8330.  He appears only to make a call.  It is a rectangle that is half black and half blue.  Looks like stars or signs '+' going diagonally through the icon.  It is located on the top right of the screen icon volume during a call.  Any help would be appreciated!

  It is the indicator of Enhanced Audio Boost. You can change that to open your call log > Menu > Options > General Options and see the settings at the bottom of the screen.

  I doubt it has something to do with the new installation of the OS
  I mean its sounds more like a hardware problem and not software problem

  In my opinion, it was a bad luck or chance that happened immediately after the recovery procedure

  But why you said that these buttons don t work?
  Have you tested with different applications?
  What in the update of the BIOS? You have the latest version of the BIOS?
  Have you tried to repeat the recovery procedure? Do it!

  Otherwise I think it might be a keyboard issue and possibly the keyboard must be replaced.
