Icon options blackBerry Smartphones

I noticed that am I being charged 17 p to sms receipt so I tried to disable this option on my blackberry curve. I was told to go on the icon options and click on the sms text, but when I click the options, nothing to do with the sms arrives! How can I disable this function please.

You are not very accurate, so I'll just guess. I don't know why the hell they will charge you for this.

I think you are receipts SMS (yet again, Im just guessing you don't give me much to work with), then go on the App Text Messages> press menu , and then choose Options> under SMS clear Delivery Report.

I hope one of you whistle may be able to help me.

I have a Blackberry Bold 9780, I use v.6.0.0.294 on o2 to the United Kingdom.

App world Blackberry does exist at all on my "BOLD" and even when I downloaded it again, it will not appear.

(not sure if there are other icons missing these are the only 2 that so far, I've noticed)

He said: I'm running the latest version of the software, so I don't understand what is happening.

I rebooted several times, no luck.

I've been in the Blackberry menu and looked for a way to display my lock icon and it won't.

    No matter what valued Advisor,

If maisl isn't here as stated above then you must erase your SMS database.

To clear the TEXT completely check following the steps:

    1. Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer.
    2. Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
    3. Double-click on the backup and restore, and then click Advanced.
    4. In the list of device databases, select the appropriate database.  For your problem, select SMS.
    5. Click clear.
    6. In the warning window, click OK.

Don't forget to have if you erase your SMS as mentioned above, then all Messages will be lost and cannot be extracted unless you have a backup.

  • Message icon missing blackBerry Smartphones

I have the blackberry curve 8520 and the icon envelope message from the homepage has disappeared. I always get new warning messages, but there is no envelope icon to navigate when you switch on the phone. Any ideas?

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Hide you? Try to activate "Show all" to see.

Did you move it? Try searching all the folders (for example, Applications, downloads, etc.) to see. Make sure you have "Show all" active there as well.

Have you installed a new theme? Those who can hide things away.

If all those who fail, then I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! Good luck and let us know!

  • The Options icon locked blackBerry smartphones

I'm new to the 8300 Curve.  I changed the background / the display of icons and somehow I 'locked' the Options icon.  It won't let me open at all now.  It will allow me to open all other icons.

    Try this:

When your device is ON, remove the battery, wait a minute, and turn the battery on the device.

  • Missing icon for blackBerry Smartphones

    Hello

The blackberry app world icon disappeared from my home screen, I tried to download app world once again, but no icon appeared, someone at - it solutions?

First of all, make sure that the icon is not hidden.  While on your home screen, press the menu key and select Show all or show all if one is available.  If that isn't find it, go to your Applications list to see if it is on your phone.  You can find that by going to your home screen in Options > device > application and pick up there.  If it's there, highlight it with your mouse, press the menu key and select Remove.  Once you have done this, from the browser on your phone, go to www.blackberry.com/appworld to redownload.

Let us know if that helps you.

  • Icon of blackBerry Smartphones that I can't get rid of (9800)

I play with some of the fearures and wanted to try the call barring function.

Apparently rogers has locked this option off, sort of.

And I mean sort of, as they made an ass job of it have.

in any case, in the bar where the phone puts the icons for new e-mail, voicemail, etc., there is a shield with a scream of interrogation. For the life of me I can't understand how get rid of it.

I tried to go back and redo tuning changes, but since I am unable to actually launch the first time, I can't cancel it or turn it off.

So, I had an icon on my phone for the last 6 months that does nothing, and I can't remove.

I have tried everything reboots to remove the battery to remove the sim card and the battery... etc.

Any thoughts or ideas would be great.

  • GPS icon missing BlackBerry Smartphones

I had just bought a BB 9000 "BOLD" and I got Vodaphone UK as a service provider.  My question to all, is that when I look at the menu, I don't have the GPS icon everyone takes to run BB Maps.  I looked in several websites, but I have not found the "right" answer, I need.  I also looked at the Options > Advanced Options > GPS and have updated it.  When I do, I can't pick up my current position.  I also looked at the Options > Advanced Options > Applications and found Blackberry Maps, v. 4.6.0.  I am running firmware 4.6.0.162 v. (4.0.0.155 platform).  Please, help me find my icon or something that will allow me to use the Blackberry maps.  Thank you for your time.

I had the same problem.  In the end, I called Vodafone and they sent me a link to download.  Although they give him free his sometimes "not there."  Just give them a call and they will send you the link.

  • Icon «Dead» blackBerry Smartphones running in the background.

    Hello.

I think I have an icon 'dead' for a New York Times app running in the background and I fear that it may eat his memory and battery power. When I hit ALT and escape keys at the same time: it shows itself as well as other normal BB applications; However, when I click on this icon of the New York TIMES, everything freezes and the only way out is to hit the call button of power off / end.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

On the Blackberry go to options, options, advanced applications.

See if the app is listed, do not click highlight and select Remove.

Make a traction battery as shown.

Let us know how it goes!

  • Icon for blackBerry Smartphones Strange ianccessible

On my smartphone 8900 about an hour there is a blue message icon appeared next to the new message on the front screen icon.  It has a 1 in a red circle next to it, which makes me assume that it is a message from somewhere, but I can'r, select it and have no idea of how to access it or really what it is?

The blue icon looks a bit like the blackberry logo so maybe it's a message of Balckberry, but if so I have no idea where to go within the unit to opne it?  Doesn't anyone have any ideas?

    Thank you.

This looks like a BlackBerry Messenger notification. You have a message or a contact to add to BlackBerry Messenger.

Find your BlackBerry Messenger application, instant messaging, or the Applications folder is sometimes found in the folder.

You see one that looks like yours, below?

  • Account icon Email blackBerry Smartphones won't go away

I have three e-mail accounts set up on my 8330.  I use is no longer one of them, so I deleted using the e-mail account on the device configuration application, as well as to go online to my BlackBerry Sprint account and delete it.  The icon always appears on my phone and for some reason, is now the default account to send emails.  As the account has, indeed, been deleted, emails don't actually go through this account.  It's a huge pain to keep remembering to change the account that I have send emails since.  On a side note - I also changed my settings to use a different account as my default account - it does make a difference.  The setting is good when I check, but when I test them, the old (deleted) account is always the default.  What Miss me?  How can I get rid of this account once and for all?  I really don't want to wipe my machine and start over...  Thank you in advance for your help!

Options > Advanced > Service books... find and locate the TWO entries related to this account, one for each [cical] and [cimime].

Hello, this is the first time I used a chat room, but it was recommended by an employee of Blackberry because they didn't know what that meant the icon. I have a gold star to the Center at the top of my screen, just below the time display. Can someone tell me what this means.

    Hi Reganreed,

It is an invitation to download, I think it's a Ram optimizer. Try to open your App World and the output or looking at your posts. Find Ram Optimizer, open and exit. A yellow/gold star should disappear.
