Icons disappeared after changing the wallpaper
original title: so I change my wallpaper and after that, all my icons on it disappear, but everything else works perfectly fine, a little help please? Its a Windows XP. Thank you!
The icons disappeared just after I changed my desktop wallpaper. Is someone can you please tell me how I can return icons because that time, my office is empty! My computer is a Windows XP. Thanks in advance for answers!
Please follow the steps below.
Follow the steps from the link below.
Run the Microsoft fixit from the link below.
I also suggest you to download and run the latest Microsoft Scanner on your computer and check to see if it helps:
Note: the data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means there is a risk of data loss.
When I emptied the trash, the trash disappears from my office. The 'Recycle Bin' words are still displayed on the desktop, and when I put the cursor on the location where the icon is supposed to be, the area still "hilights" as if the tray was still there.
I do not use a custom icon. I use the default icon of bin recycle.
I use Windows 7 Professional.
When I restart the computer the trash comes back. I may be able to empty the trash several times before disappearing again, but eventually (usually within the first 5 times empty the trash), it disappears again.
I realize that this isn't a huge problem, but it's more than a little embarrassing. Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, tried to mail.mailroute.net to Setup MX for spam filtering to my Adobe Catalyst account, but now impossible to find or connect to my e-mail account to Adobe Catalyst. Tried to change the MX back record once again, but still can not account for work. Looks like I have no account in the e-mail settings, but I don't want to add the old one back if it replaces the one I... Very odd behavior that change a MX record may produce loss of contact with those mail account. How can I get the account back up work quickly? Also, the account was rather full - buy more storage? Account [email protected]
It turns out you're screwed, if you change a DNS record without warning and they have no backups of what either. Adobe Business revelation would be a better name for their service...
Original title: My CD drive icons disappeared after I installed the Norton Recovery tool
I downloaded Norton Recovery tool, created the rebootable disc. Tested, everything OK. Then found all my readers of DVD disc including a player clone of Ebly, disappeared from "My Computer". They are always in my device manager, but have a yellow tag attached to each of them.
Can someone tell me how to get back them?
Good... got to step 5, then got confused (never been here before). Are you telling me to delete point 4, 4 d 36965 - etc? Or lower and upper values in mentioned in step 5
Locate and then click the following registry subkey: this will expand the content of the key in the right pane of Regedit.
In panel right, if you have UpperFilters, right-click UpperFiltersand then click Remove.
Click Yes to confirm the deletion of the UpperFilters registry entry.
In the right pane, if you LowerFilters, click LowerFilters, and then click Remove.
Click Yes to confirm the deletion of the LowerFilters registry entry.
Exit the registry editor and restart the computer.
Original title: cannot change the wallpaper on Windows 7 after you uninstall Bing Desktop
I installed desktop Bing a few months back, but I'm tired of his daily wallpaper and decided to uninstall it.Now I can't apply themes and wallpapers. When I put manually the images as wallpaper, I get an error message «this image may be defined as wallpaper...»I tried almost all the solutions posted anywhere on the internet, without success.I can only choose some colors here and it's frustrating. Need help!
I solved this problem. If anyone has similar problem
Go to control panel of control-> appearance and personalization-> change background of screen->
Photo location: change of color United desktopbackground drop-down list and select the background
-> save changes
The problem is that I can't change my wallpaper (I have in the past).
I can't change it via the Customize menu (I choose other wallpapers, but the new wallpaper is not displayed). I also tried to change my custom theme default theme and still does not change the wallpaper. It also does not work when I get clickl on an image and select use as background. (my account is a type of admin)
However I change it when I use the local and updated Group Policy Editor 1 default wallpaper for all accounts.
But when I create a new user and try to change its desktop background it works.
type of Windows: windows 7 ultimate x 64
I hope someone can help.
Sorry for my English is not my mother tongue.
I went to C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes and removed all the content and after reboot I could change my wallpaper again.
My ORB start does not, he will have all the features and the icon disappear, just to the left of the word iteven using restore window can not solve the problem, I use windows 7 pro, this happen after the update I have install on September 24, 2012
1. What is the KB (Knowledge Base) number associated with the update?
2. the problem persists only with ORB start?
Method 1: Make the SFC (System File Checker) scan and see if the problem occurs.
Method 2: Use the Microsoft Safety Scanner in full scan mode and remove all threats that is not detected by it and see if the problem persists.
Note: the Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.
The Microsoft Safety Scanner is not a replacement for the use of antivirus software that offers continuous protection.
Hope this information helps.
I have a weird problem with a client running Horizon view 6.0.1:
In linked Clone desktops, we are unable to change the desktop background. We have created a new master without optimizations that I thought one of them already could be the problem (we removed the design etc. but just to get that optimizations).
I can change the wallpaper in the master image without problems, but not in the deployed workstations. If I click on other models, I see more active design Aero, the colors change from window etc, but the background remains the standard image of blue windows ("harmony"). Even if I select the images from the Explorer, right-click, as wallpaper - no change.
Anyone has the same problem and can lead to a solution?
P.S.: We use management Persona. But I have already created a pool in an OU without management of Persona and still have the same problem.
I saw something similar awhile back after running desktop optimization commands. I found myself by opening a ticket with Microsoft and the following changes are what sets our questions.

I would appreciate if someone could tell me how to put a picture on my screen of my photos. I have Windows 7 starter on my Toshiba NB50.
I tried to right click on my photo, but when I did that it gives me doesn't have an option to set as wallpaper. Please help I brought this thing 3 days ago and almost over.
Thank you Dann.
Unfortunately Windows 7 Starter doesn t will allow you to change the wallpaper. This is a limitation of Windows on Windows 7 Starter Edition. The wallpaper can be changed on Windows 7 Home Basic Edition or higher versions.
After installing windoows 8.1 April major upgrade (win 8.1 presents as OEM), and have shrunk C partition to create a data partition "D", "Troubleshooting" option under advanced start menu is no longer available.
Toshiba Recovery Media Creator does not work, too (it can not find any hard disk recovery partion).
I got in the OEM recovery partition.
I am also able to create a recovery using the Windows tool unit.
You have no idea about it?
Thank you very much!
Sorry to hear about all this. Unfortunately, you now have a big problem. I don't understand why you didn't create support of recovery before you started to change the factory settings, including to change the structure of the partitions of HARD drive.
Mobile offered with factory settings a structure specific partitions and recovery recorded image is saved on the partition of drive specific and marked with invisible markers. These markers are visible for preinstalled Toshiba recovery media creator tool and when you start the tool can find points of reference and has full access to specific files.
Unfortunately, after changing the original scores structure Toshiba tool cannot find these markers more and is not able to copy files from recovery media recovery. What you need now is the original recovery disk. Using this disk, you can install original recovery image and after doing this, you will have new factory settings.
I know it sounds stupid now but you must order the original recovery disk and it can be done on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
If you have any other questions you are welcome.
After changing the map of 85 W MagSafe, time to start the computer has become excessive (2 minutes). The screen lights up immediately, but the video appears after 2 Min.
Once started, the performance of the computer are OK.
This anomaly occurs after the change of the adapter, it's never happened before.
Try a SMC reset:
After changing the resolution to 800 x 600 or less (while playing an older game BACK), the screen is reduced to the size of the postcard.
Someone at - it an idea to solve this problem, (another driver display or s.th.)?
In my view, there is a setting in the BIOS to force the screen image to stretch to fit the available space.
After changing the password in windows server 2003, when the new password take effect?
In dealing with the problem with Windows Server 2003, it would be preferable to send the same in the Technet community. http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/smallbusinessserver/threads
Hope the information is useful.
Office Jet 6500 will not print after changing the ink cartridges
This doesn't seem to be a problem with the printer itself and not Windows. I also suggest to contact the manufacturer. In this case, HP.
