  Thanks for posting with us.  I suggest try to start safe mode and see if it works correctly.  If Yes, then you can start using the "last known good configuration."   If in Safe Mode, you have the same problem, you should run chkdsk /r and sfc/scannow.  Here are the instructions for these suggestions.  Post back with the results.

• Audio filter missing on Mac, and yet do not miss.

  When I load the first (Mac version, latest version of first), I am suddenly getting an error:

  "Lack of audio filter: 2:859259221 DSUS dbx 160.

  
  

  Yet when the program loads, the Audio filter is actually there (UAD dbx 160) and works very well. It's not a huge deal, but since it started suddenly occurring, I hope this isn't a sign of future trouble.

  My learning curve is showing - I thought about it. I'll let my mistake here so that others can learn.

  For some reason, a filter had been applied to a single audio clip - NOT in the audio mixer Panel, but on the item itself.  I'm just learning that first allows you to see at a glance if audio FX is applied.

  I have the first configured to display audio in the timeline panel.  And there's a little bitty box in the upper left corner of each audio file with the letters "fx".

  If there is no fx applied, these letters are gray.

  If the volume or pan has been applied to this clip, these letters are yellow.

  If another plugin is applied (as was my case), these letters are green.

  I figured this out after watching every single audio clip in my calendar.  I found that the plugin mentioned above - the dbx 160 - had in fact been applied to a clip.  I took it off, and the error message from my original post disappeared.

  I solved the problem by going to Tools\Defragment Administrative and optimize readers. I could then manually run Defrag and also restore the defragmentation task that was missing in Task Scheduler. Everything is OK now. Thank you for your return to me.

  Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

  Method 1: This problem occurs if the current user profile has been accidentally deleted from the system.

  Note: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information on how to back up and restore the registry

  a. log in the system by using an administrative user account other than the user account that is experiencing the problem.

  b. back up the data in the folder of the current user profile if the profile folder still exists and then delete the profile folder. By default, the profile is located in the following location:

  %SystemDrive%\Users\UserName

  c. click Start, type regedit in the search box and press ENTER.

  If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

  d. Locate the following registry subkey:

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList

  e. under the ProfileList subkey, delete the subkey named SID.bak.

  Note: SID is a placeholder for the security identifier (SID) of the user account that is experiencing the problem. The SID.bak subkey must contain a ProfileImagePath registry entry that points to the folder of the original profile of the user account that is experiencing the problem.

  f. exit the registry editor.

  g. log off the system.

  h. Journal to log on to the system again.

  To work around "printing in rescue mode" ensure that all cartridges are installed and no are exhausted.

  With respect to the drying of the page, change the print settings might help; Definitions of setting for the printer driver.

  You can change the icon using the context menu > properties.

  You can check for problems with the Windows icon cache and trying to rebuild the icon cache.

  1. Open the task (Ctrl + Shift + ESC) Manager
  2. In the processes tab, right-click on the Explorer.exe process and select end process.
  3. Open the file picker via ' file > new task (run) "and click on the Browse button.
  4. Type or paste %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local (%LocalAppData%) in the file name field (AppData is a hidden folder).
  5. Select the IconCache.db file and use 'Remove' from the context menu to remove the file.
  6. After that the IconCache.db file has been deleted, start a new explorer.exe process through "file > new task" for the job and work the taskbar to return.

  The IconCache.db file is a hidden file, so make sure you can see hidden files.

  • Open activity monitor (utilities > activity monitor) close all processes of Adobe

  (e.g. cc, Core sync, the broker CC library, Office, Adobe, Adobe CPI, demon Adobe Crash etc.)

  • Restart the computer, launch adobe creative cloud for the application folder.

  Recently, my niece tried to take a picture of the webcam and use it for paper painted.  She then changed back.  The next time that the computer was used, all desktop icons disappeared!

  They are still in their folder, and if the Office toolbar is enabled, all the icons are there.

  If the office is a right-click, the options menu under rearrange icons by are grayed out. the display does not appear.

  It is not a malware problem; system has MSE and in addition, the nice people at MalwareTeks have crossed me half a dozen ladies without anything to reveal.  In addition, all dashboard software works very well in the start menu, or quick launch icons or toolbars of office.

  It is XP/SP3 with all updates.  Everything seems to work, it's just that there are no icons on the desktop!

  In addition, if a new user is set up, icons ARE there on THIS desk.

  If the system has installed Service Pack 3 and you have a XP installation CD is an older MS if you want SFC to run quietly, you can use your old XP CD to create a new CD to install XP with SP3 "listened slip" in it.  You will also find have such a useful thing in the future.
