ICS: Internet connection sharing ERROR while allowing IP.
Hi all
My "Netgear" router gives the IP Address of the gateway 192.168.0.1 and my laptop is connected via a wireless connection. When I turn on my connection sharing wireless internet connection, windows xp tells me with the message below:
"When Internet connection sharing is enabled, your LAN adapter will be on use the 192.168.0.1 IP address." Your computer may lose connectivity with other computers on your network. If these other computers have static IP addresses, you must set them to obtain their IP addresses automatically.
"Are you sure you want to enable Internet connection sharing?"
When I press 'Yes', it gives me an error:
"An error occurred while Internet connection sharing was being enabled.
Internet connection sharing cannot be enabled.
A LAN connection is already configured with the IP address that is required for automatic IP addressing.
My question is, if we can configure ICS service to activate other windows of the IP ADDRESS is required to apply?
Thanks in advance for your help...
I'm sorry, but ICS is completely inflexible and does not change its LAN IP address.
The settings that you found are for something else: allowing unsolicited Internet connection requests to pass through the firewall on the ICS computer to a client computer.
Change the address LAN IP of the router. It is easy to do and will solve the problem.

ICS - Internet connection sharing does not
I build two computers with Win7 Ultimate and need to share a modem on a wired network connection. I have got the file sharing to work between the two machines and followed all the instructions concerning the ICS, but still not get the no host machine to connect to the Internet. I chose the option on the host computer to allow machines on the network to control the connection, and of course, when I plug the cord of connection linking the two, the host dials upward. However no program on the computer no host can actually communicate.
You are in the right place. The host of cable connecting network address IPv4 is not what it should be, which indicates that ICS is not configured correctly.
While remaining in 'Control network and Internet\Network connections', right click on the connection dial-up, and then click Properties > sharing . If Internet connection sharing is checked, uncheck it and click OK. Then go back and put a check mark in this box to re-enable Internet connection sharing. If a box appears asking you to select a private network connection, select the connection of cable system in the menu.

Original title: problem with Internet connection sharing
my laptop running on Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 (this one has access to the internet by using the dial-up modem and will to act as a sharer of internet connection or as a host) and the client computer runs on Windows 7 Starter
in a first step, I try internet connection sharing, I've set up an ad hoc network and I just changed my setting modem dial-up on the sharing tab, of course what I change, it of 'Allow an other network users to connect through this computer internet connection' and choose the on Home Networking connection wireless network connection , then my mobile client to connect to a special that I created and portable client connected to the internet via ICSthen the problem came when I restart my laptop. When I tried to use ICS once again, my customer laptop really takes a long time to connect, he continues saying 'identification' side host and client. and after that "identify" is complete, it says ad - hoc connection, I create has "no network".so, I'm a person answer in this forum' Obtain an IP address automatically is the wrong setting on the Ethernet connection. " To return to the sharing tab and unshare the wireless connection. Close all windows network, and then open them and re - share the wireless connection. Who must configure IPv4 for the Ethernet connection properties for:IP address: 192.168.0.1
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: no
"DNS server: none.I put this on my laptop of the host, and and I put the IP address on my laptop customer in 192.168.0.2 with the same default gateway as my portable computer host IPand made some progress in this case, when I try to connect host and the client is no longer to 'identify' phase, immediately connected laptop both but my mobile client can not connect to the internet and displays "No Internet access" on the ad hoc network, I have createI tried a lot of things but always completed my mobile client can not connect to the internet and displays the message "no Internet access.
What makes me confuse is first, I try to share the internet connection everything works like a charm, I set up an ad hoc network, and then change the setting on my modem dial-up so he can share the internet connection, and voila, computer laptop client connected to the internet. I change even not all IP settingsBut why after I restart my PC, this problem comes...someone knows how to help me with this problem?Hey, Mimbs,

Hello
I'm developing simple hosted Network Service.
As we know, hosted network must ICS but I don't know how to handle it in the c# code, or by registry.
In windows XP, there is a register for the use of ICS on this path.
-HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\ICSharing\Settings\General
However, I see no record of use ICS in windows 7 or 8.
Issue.
I wonder there is no way to manage the ICS in the c# code or registry in Windows 7 or 8?
Thanks for your help!

Internet Connection Sharing via Intel my Wifi

I have just restored my laptop factory. Configure my wifi profile. When I click on share my internet it gives the error that has first of all connect to the internet. I am already connected to the internet, therefore a ground of firewall problem please help with a few problems of settings.
Thank you.Hello SiddheshGajare,
Which Wi - Fi utility you are trying to share the connection to help?It is perhaps that the connection is not able to share with other devices. You can look into trying sharing instead of use the Windows internet connection Wi - Fi connection utility:The instructions also apply to Windows 7. -
Internet connection sharing cannot be enabled.
Greetings. I noticed a lot of posts about a similar situation, but I don't seem to find the answer that works for me. The skinny: using Windows 7. I connected to XBox live through ICS with my laptop. Hotel has wireless and I connected to it. Then, I followed the instructions and my wireless for sharing of the value. From there on, I wired XBox laptop w/ethernet cable and XBox settings manually configured as IP address, subnet, gateway, & DNS address mask. It was working fine the first day. During the next two days, connection was super slow... but it still worked. The problem does not seem to come from the hotel's Wi - Fi connection. It was the laptop for XBox it seemed. So I did some reading more and got more stupid than usual. I tried to 'Bridge' of the LAN and wireless connections to see if I could get better results. I'm not too good sense of course so I didn't know if it would work. There can be no. This is why I removed the two bridge connections and even removed the icon of "Bridge". I tried to go back to the original configuration that has worked and that's when I started getting the "connection sharing Internet can not be activated. A LAN connection is already configured with the IP address that is required for automatic IP addressing"message. So now, when I check the share my wireless, I have that message and it won't share. I'm lost! I tried "ipconfig \all. I tried "netsh winsock reset." Nothing seems to work. I don't know if I'm doing something of out of order which does not allow local network setting. I mean... what must be plugged in the ethernet cable, or even not at all, and when it is, that the parameters of the Xbox is? I even put the XBox failing to see network settings if I could start to this end. If it was not obvious, I'm still able to access the internet wireless and wired. This is something crazy and so far, none of my smart friends have been able to help! Thanks in advance for any of yours. As I said, I'm really not good with this stuff so if you have answers, please show idiot as I am a fool proof. See you soon! Jim C

By using internet connection sharing
I'm having a problem using ICS. It used to work perfectly, but then I had to reinstall vista and use my restore disks, and it has not worked since. That's what I'm trying to do. I'm taking a wireless internet signal coming from my router and it sends through my LAN port for the computer of my son, who does not have a receiver wireless on his computer. This used to work properly, but don't work no more... That's what I've done so far:
I turned on ICS on my wireless connection. I checked all the services I want to be able to have the connection (http, ftp, telnet, etc.). I turned "detect settings ip automatically' on my son's computer. I have a crossover cable from my computer to my son (that's what I used before too). I don't know what happens wrong... someone has any ideas? Please help :)
Hello
Make sure that you are really using a crossover cable and that the side network is up
and running.First step - Ad - Hoc network

Hello.
With Windows 7, I want to share the network connection Wi - Fi with Bluetooth through PAN (Personal Area Network).
When there are several connections in addition to Bluetooth after opening "Share" tab, I see these connections in the "Home Networking connection" list, but there is no Bluetooth. Then, when there is no connection in addition to Bluetooth which I can share with, there is no tab "share."
Equipment: laptop Samsung NB30:
- Broadcom BCM2070 Bluetooth 3.0 + HS USB Device with the driver PAN ('Bluetooth device (Personal Area Network)") provided by Samsung: Microsoft, version 6.1.7600.16385, 21.06.2006
As I assume there should be means to somehow add "Bluetooth Network Connection" to a list of connections that can be internet shared with.
Also, when I tried to fix this problem manually, other questions are raised:
- There is really no Thoubleshooting guide for Internet connection sharing in Windows 7? I see this document on the site "Microsoft Support" for Windows 98SE, Windows XP - but not Vista and 7.
- When I'm stuck to the administration of the system to the GUI, there is good decision to guarantee a target with the CLI. After searching a command line installation Internet connection sharing, I see no guides for this - only something likehttp://forums.devshed.com/windows-help-34/enabling-ics-under-command-line-89499.html . Is there really no way to set up ICS by command line and I'm forced to use complex GUIs?
So, please help me solve problem BT PAN ICS. But if you reply to other questions, it will also be interesting to read.
