  Check Device Manager to see if the touchpad is found and configured.
  If it is configured correctly, please just try to activate by Fn + F5 & (or only F5 according to FN-configuration).

  There is one for Synaptic and one for the ALPS.

  iPhones have a proximity sensor which is supposed to automatically turn off the screen when you hold it in your face. If this is not the case you can take the phone and have it checked.
