IdeaPad Y500 battery status always led ON

Hi, I have Ideapad Y500. There for 2 months I use it. I keep the charger connected always using 100% charged. The present battery status light on the left side of the base of the laptop is turned on for a few days, even if I unplug the charger from the socket. Why is this happening? Is this due to the excessive load? Help, please...

Hi KrishnaFT9,

Welcome to the Community Forums of Lenovo!

Always on battery indicator indicates that the battery has a sufficient charge to power the computer and when the indicator turns red means that the battery needs to be recharged, it is the new type of indication and it is normal and there is no need to worry.

Batteries are no longer available on the Apple online store but can be at your nearest Apple Retail Store, you must check with your store. A better option is probably buy one yourself and replace it. Buy a quality like this http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/apple_laptop/batteries/MacBook_13_Unibody battery

  • IdeaPad Y500 "Windows doesn't detect any hardware networking".

    Hello

I have problems with my recently purchased Lenovo Ideapad Y500 because it is impossible to connect to the internet. As a first step, the connection worked well and I managed to set up the connection Wireless using an ethernet cable.

The problems started when I installed the F-Secure virus/firewall program - in the middle of the installation process (some time after the installation tool uninstalled MacAfee default program) the laptop became unresponsive. First of all everything except the background color disappeared, then the screen went completely empty and the laptop has not responded to other buttons. I waited for about 20 minutes until what I pressed the button for a few seconds in order to stop the laptop.

The laptop rebooted normally, and the installation of F-Secure program was still underway. However, because the laptop had been closed at halfway, I decided to cancel the installation and re-install the program. I removed the parts installed with Control Panel tools, to realize that the wireless internet from the laptop disappeared.

The laptop detects all connections; the network group says no connection is available. Previously, before the strange white screen problem, the Panel showed several nearby wi - fi networks. When I try to connect via the Network Center and sharing, I get only "Windows does not detect any networking hardware." Connect the ethernet cable (connected to the modem/router) makes no difference.

I managed to solve this problem. For some reason, the pilots of two network components have been updated but did not work, so I did a restore on those, the question of fixing.

  • IdeaPad Y500 Upgrade help?

I myself an ideaPad Y500, bought about 4 months ago.
According to me, it came with a GT650M and an Ivy 3632QM image processor i7.

    I'm currently on Windows 8.1

For some reason any when I run speccy, it says I have a free RAM slot, and I don't have that one RAM stick 8 GB to 798 MHz. is it possible for me to buy new RAM that runs at about 2000 Mhz and still be able to use it?

    Can I use 32 gigabytes of RAM? With 2 x 16 or is the max 16 (8 x 2?)

Also, I would like to know how to SLI. I have an optical drive that is removable, but I don't know if this is where I put in my other graphics card. Where do you find an other GT650M anyway?

I would like to know the best way to upgrade my laptop, or maximize performance.

    Thank you!

    Hello
    Welcome to the forums!
Yes, some y500 come with 8 GB in only 1 location and most likely the application is to give the right information.
On a new ram, I strongly advice you buy a compatible ram only which is supported by the motherboard of your laptop.
The sli, the second gpu goes inside the CD-ROM and the optical drive must be removed. A single device can operate at a time.
On the purchase of the gpu, I really don't think that you will get a ultrabay gpu for your laptop in India but you can check with the support.
Also, check your laptop hardware maintenance manual, it tells how to replace the ram and other interchangeable client devices.

  • Battery status values

    Hello:

I got my Atrix a month ago, I had with 1.26 and I realized that when the phone was not plugged in, the battery status would say 'not charging', but now, after I upgraded to 1.83, I realized it now says "unload" when the phone is disconnected. I tried the API and everything and I discovered that the possible values for this field are:

    Unknown
    Does not charge

    To carry out

    Load

    Full

But what I didn't want to say these fields, is there a negative sense in the performance, or is it the same as not charging? I worry especially because I get a reboot once a week (I checked the forums and it's somewhat normal, but anyway)

Please if anyone knows, I would be very grateful if you shared.

    Thank you

    jorgejams

When your phone is turned on and sitting in standby mode, it will be 'discharge' or using the battery. If it is plugged in it will be "load". If it has connected and fully charged, it will be 'full' and if it is hooked up and loads but not complete, it will 'recharge '. Unknown occurs when the phone cannot determine what it does. I'm not sure "do not load" but I guess you might get this message if the phone cannot be charged.

  • I resized the partition of C: Lenovo IdeaPad Y500 laptop with the partion of aomei assistant and now I'm not able to start.

Original title: I messed UP WITH MY 8 PREINSTALLED VICTORY AND IT DOES not START NOW

My lenovo ideapad y500 supplied with windows 8 pre installed. I wanted to set/resize partitions as the laptop has been delivered with a single partition (C :). after I resized with the partion of aomei Wizard something happened and now I don't am not able to start. my laptop has been delivered with the pre-installed operating system, and she had no DVD of win8. I dinot do the recovery disks either. Some say that the product key is injected into the bios) , so I neednt worry about losing the win8 original license. any means now what shud I do to get reinstalled 8 victory! where can I download an image of victory 8 to install?

LENOVO has this option of key recovery is not working too now that I changed the partitions. (IE it works if the partitions are unchanged)

    Help, please!

You have an OEM key - make sure that it is the OEM version of win8.

Lenovo has a drive engineering key which one of its options is to repair the functionality of the button a magical touch.

Ask in the Lenovo forum if they can direct you to the download of recovery engineering key a repair disk and how to fix your recovery button.

    http://forums.Lenovo.com

Can you get to a command prompt to start with a system repair disc or the installation or the upgrade disk...

and taste the repair orders bootrec.exe/fixboot would be a good idea to start with.

  • Battery status icon

I lost the battery status icon in my taskbar (right). One that shows the percentage charge etc. How can this be restored on my ThinkPad R500

If it's something that just happened in your current Windows session, then restarting may well bring back.

If this isn't the case, then click on start-> all programs-> ThinkVantage-> Power Manager. When Power Manager opens go to the tab options and tick ' display gauge of Power Manager in the task bar.

  • I can't the battery status in the job prompt.

I use Workstation 9.0.2 on a Ubuntu 12.04.2 host a Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04.2 comments. It is all running on a ThinkPad X 230. The guests were created when I had version 9.0.0 installed Workstation.

I check title 'Report battery of guest information' for both hosts and started their. The guest OS do not seem to detect the battery.

As a note, I have noticed battery reporting does not when Ubuntu eventually removed the path/proc/acpi/battery/BAT0 obsolete in favor of the/sys/class/power_supply/BAT0 way. I just guess that is related and perhaps Workstation leans on the proc file system and not the sys file system.

    Thank you.

    Hi AlanaA,

Thanks for the detailed post.  It is exactly as you describe: my computer battery status relay functionality needs to be updated to use sysfs on modern Linux hosts.  We have an internal bug filed report to follow up this issue.

Used to work fine but just stopped.

Looking for drivers, but couldn't find

    Hello

    How old is your battery?
Have you changed this in the past?

Also try to calibrate the battery; discharge the battery until it s completely empty. Then plug the AC adapter and wait that the battery could be completely loaded.
Repeat this several times, then check the State of charge.

  • IdeaPad Y500 discharge battery for some games

Recently I had problems with the battery discharge then plugged everything by playing a few games (Civilization V and Sniper Elite V2 ones I noticed the most). In the case of Civilization V, it also causes the game behind the point of being unplayable. Notification of battery when scrolling on said "plugged in, not charging" and therefore indefinitely until the computer turns off a lack of power. It also lowers the battery life about an hour and fifteen minutes what discharge like this.

Any help would be appreciated with this, because it doesn't happen with every game I own. Sims 3, St rank the third, Skyrim, etc do not suffer from this problem. I already tried to uninstall the games with this problem and reinstall them, but that doesn't seem to help.

    Thank you!

You are using version SLI? If so make sure you a 170W charger and not a 120W since 120W charger will be the kickoff and make portable use battery since 120W cannot manipulate to give power to the 2nd gpu so thats why 170W is necessary.

I have a mini laptop, NB500-108, running Windows 7, and he never had a battery up to present problems.

In addition, the led light never changes from orange to green, as he used to do before.

    2. compatible control ACPI method to uninstall or disable Microsoft in Device Manager;
    3. full release / full load;

I think it could be a faulty battery since the lithium batteries would begin to lose own performance after his indictment for 400 - 500 times, I suppose that your battery is affected it s just a theory, but I think it is to test a new game
