IdeaPad Y530: windows does not start after that laptop went to sleep mode.

Hello

More great frustration in my life have laptop brand new, this for me.

After that the laptop goes into mode 'sleep', I'm not able to go back to Windows. All light are there and watch as usual, but there is no Lenovo Welcome logo or any other sign of normal behavior. I can turn it off by holding the button market / stop, but when I turn back the problem is still there. Windows does not start.

I was able to go back to Windows that day after leaving just laptop without any power and battery.

I called Lenovo and they suggested to disable the standby modes use put into hibernation. I did it. When the screen saver started, something went wrong, computer got froze and I had to restart, but then again, black screen and no reaction.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for the reply.

That's what I end up doing. OnKeyrecover does not work either so what spoke on the phone with Lenovo. Then he is gone now for repair.

I just installed the update sp1 for my computer for Windows Vista Premium Home dir all installed with no problems, but when I restarted my pc, Windows wouldn't start. The only thing that is on display is a black screen with Windows Error Recovery on top, then he said "Windows does not start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. I tried to restart it in different ways, but nothing. Then he said: I have to insert my OS drive to try to fix, but that's not even start. Everyone knows about this problem? This has happened right after that I installed the update...

    L.Butler,
Are you able to boot from your Vista DVD or recovery partion and run the Startup Repair tool?  If you do not have a Vista disc so make sure that your computer is configured to boot from the CD drive before booting from the hard drive.  Once you start with support for Vista select the "Repair your computer" option and first run "Startup Repair".  If that is not correct the problem then boot with Vista support and select the option "System Restore" and choose a date prior to the update install.
Once you are able to boot normally again, then I suggest that you are looking for virus\malware.  SP1 was released in April 2008.  So if you install earlier means there may be other problems on your system.  If you have a backup of your current personal data then I recommend to do a clean restore to install\factory.  Then immediately install antivirus software, and then do all Windows updates before installing other software. • Portege R830 - Windows does not start after I have install Comodo Firewall

    Good afternoon

I bought today a Portege R830, and after the Windows configuration, the first program that I installed was the popular free Comodo Firewall. After that I restarted, Windows 7 unbootable. It would be stuck on the user login screen and I know it's a problem with the firewall because if I do a system restore to the restore point created by Setup of firewall, windows restarts.

So I ask if there is any inconsistency between the firewall and software on the Toshiba. A that someone already had this problem? I tried to solve this problem throughout the day with no results. I even re-installed Windows 7 using the Toshiba Recovery and the problem persists. I really like the Comodo and I want this firewall on my laptop, but Windows does not just start!

    Any help would be apreciated.

    Hi jillefsky,.

Have you disabled the Windows Firewall before you start with the installation of Comodo Firewall? As far as I know, Portege R830 is delivered with preinstalled McAfee security software and you must remove this program before you install other security tools.

Generally this has nothing to do with Toshiba and it s advisable to contact Comodo directly. They may know about this so they can give you a proper answer.

But I put t understand why this program is so important to you. Windows already has an internal firewall so that these programs are not necessary in my opinion. Just install a good antivirus like AntiVir and enable the automatic updates of Windows. All that s!

  • Windows does not start after Windows update.

Original title: udate Windows vista problems

I have dell dimension e520, Windows Vista home Basic, 32-bit SP 2, and in January, I upgraded RAM to 4 GB to 1 GB. McAfee security on the computer. The system worked until the last updated (March 2012).  The computer does not start correctly after March 2012 update and System Restore restores to February 21 implemented to date.  The computer will then automatically install the updates again and restart, after which the computer will not start up again (an annoying loop).  I also lose saved data after the system recovery sets return date.  I tried Microsoft Fixit, which did not help.  Thanks for your help. Hurry LOL available updates.

PS computer says 'patch blocking windows to start.  Some updates successfully installed previously, but on the next time you download windows updates, that try to download updates and others have "failed."  Sorry for the confusion but I'm rushing and I try to include all the symptoms, I don't see dealing with the problem I have.

I had to take it to get fixed, thanks to the effort.  The person fixing said he ran a few cleaning tools and which appeared to fix.

  • VM does not start after that ESXi was replaced by version 6

    Hi all

I ran a scary problem after replacing my VMware ESXi version 5.1 to version 6.

My server is an Areca RAID controller which is supported by version 6 default. Yes, after installation (clean installation) 6 ESXi on a key USB internal drive, everthing seem good. It shows my store of data stored on my RAID controller and I can see the content, (see attachment, image of my data store) including my VM file - SBS2011.vmdk.

I'm not a highly qualified VM pro, but the hard (about 40GB) file must contain my full Windows environment (Windows 2011 server).

Have access to my data store on my RAID controller and access to the original .vmx file, everything seems fine. Make a right click of the .vmx, add to the inventory and I'm ready to go... but... it does not start.

It shows a resource error, not this additional information. My feeling is that there is something wrong with the location of the Swap, because it looks like the place to swap is located outside the VM storage location (hard). This is what looks like my .vmx:

    It is not stored on my hard ' / vmfs/volumes / 512 b 5271-cb39b672-c198-001e676870c7 /! It points to a different location.

(File VMX also downloaded with this post)

No I have two question. What would be the cause of this problem, not able to start the virtual machine?

Second question. Perhaps a solution: delete all files in my store of data, except the VM-SBS2011 - flat hard file, create a new virtual machine on my server, using an existing drive (showing my VM-SBS2011 - flat hard), I'll be able to boot my virtual machine? It will create a (work) .vmx file to the cool address? There where no snapshots exist when I close my Windows OS down the last time. I lose all the data? Help, please!

Currently, I download the full content (all files) of the database on my local computer as a backup. I hope that my hard file will be sufficient.

I'm really grateful for your help!

I copied the file-VM in VMWare ESXi 5.5 on another data store (more old HP SAS) server en guess what... it's starting! So for now I'm back in business. It seems that there is something wrong with the original server, because my hard file appears to be damaged otherwise it would not start on my old good spare HP server...

I still wonder what the hell happened after I replaced the internal drive of hypervisor type USB and installed ESXi 6 on a cool USB. I got in the RAID array. Now, even when I start the server of origin with it's original ESXi 5.1 USB (intact), I got the same error when you try to start the virtual machine. Is thinking there's something wrong with the RAID array but I can access the database on the RAID array and (after you move the content to another VM machine) all files are very well run smooth on the other server. Kill me.

    Any ideas?

  • Windows does not start after Windows updates downloading

I have an IBM Thinkpad R32 with Windows XP, 512 MB of ram and a Pentium 4 processor. Wednesday night, when I stopped, Microsoft downloaded a bunch of updates - 13 to be exact. When I went to start my computer the next day, I got a black screen saying "We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully.

When I select 'safe mode' I get a series of files. When I select "Last known configuration" or "Start windows normally" I get a blue screen with "a thread tried to release a source he did not' and the error code that goes in the bottom" STOP: 0x000000E3 "(0X80558BE0, 0X82FCA548, 0 x 00000000, 0 x 00000002). "When I press F8 for advanced startup options, I get the same result to choose 'safe mode' as before, but also the blue screen to 'last known...". "or"start windows normally ".

I have a recovery disk but it seems to be the 2nd of the 2 discs, and I can't find the first. More I am concerned about the loss of material on my computer (have not saved in a while). My technical skills are marginal - I'm good at copy what is on the screen but that's all.

Needless to say, I'm a little upset with Microsoft for burning my muddy computer with its updates. I set it so that I have to approve the updates, but I wasn't paying attention when I hit the button turn off with the updates.

    shadiahm,
Thanks for posting on the Microsoft Answers forum.  The first thing to do is to remove the external devices (printer, USB drives, USB hubs, etc.), then restart.

If you have your XP cd, you can run a repair installation: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315341.  If you do not have a XP CD you must contact your PC manufacturer to obtain replacement disks.

Also, if you have access to your XP, you can start in repair mode and run SFC/scannow: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310747 Mike - engineer Microsoft Support responses

  • password not accepted after that laptop wakes from sleep

When my laptop is on battery power and idle for a while, it goes into sleep mode. When I want to start working again, Windows does not accept my password. I need to change username, then click on my profile (which displays LOCKED) and only then Windows accept my password.

After doing a search on the net, I see other Windows 7 users have the same problem...

Hi Sean, the problem may be that the NumLock key is on in your profile.

Try this.  Hit the key Windows and r and type regedit and click ok.  Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Keyboard and locate the InitialKeyboardIndicators value.  DoubleClick on it and change the value from 2 to 0.  Click ok and restart.

Let us know if this helped.

  • IdeaPad S10-3 does not start after windows updates 7

    Hi Experts,

I have a laptop Ideapad S10-3 with WIndows 7. It was fine until I installed a few Windows-7 Updatss. Once the updates have been made, the system rebooted and after that it never started. I just get the first screen of Lenovo with the F2 and F12 options. Anything after that. If I press F2, it goes into the BIOS menu, but if I press the F12 option, and then nothing happens. I just see a black screen with the cursor blinking in the upper left corner. Can someone please help me get back system works again. Would be a great help.

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards

    Vijay

    Hello

Thanks for the suggestions, but none of them worked. However, I could finally get my ideapad work as follows.

As soon as the screen of Lenovo's Logo, press F2 to enter the boot menu. In the start menu, there is an option for the compatibility of the disk with AHCI options (or something similar) Compatible vs. I don't know what was before settings but in the condition of non-working, the setting was AHCI. I then changed to "Compatible" and restarted after the registration of the configuration. He then loaded windows.

However, I do not how the setting changed on AHCI. Also in mode AHCI, my USB not detected. After I changed the compatibility mode, it detects and I was able to load Ubuntu from USB disk as well (as a book drive).

Try if it can solve your problem in this scenario.

    Kind regards

  • Pavilion DV6-2140ED: Pavilion DV6: 10 Windows does not start after the upgrade memory (4 GB-> 8 GB)

After I upgraded the RAM in my HP DV6 from 4 GB to 8 GB (2 x 4 GB Kingston KTA-MB1333 / 4G), Windows no longer starts. I get a blue screen and it keeps restarting.

I think that the memory specifications are similar to the Samsung M471B5673EH1-CH9 original memory: Ghz 1333, non - ecc, 1.5 volts, case latency 9 etc.etc.

    It's a laptop DV6-2140ED HP with a processor Intel i5 - 430 m and Intel mobile chipset HM55.

The bios detects 8 GB and it also passes the check/test of memory. As far as I know that I have also installed the latest bios firmware: F.1D. Reinstall my Windows 10 64 bit does not work either: with 8 GB I also get blue screens, after I try to boot my Windows 10 bootable USB drive.

I read other people having the same problem, but I have not read a solution yet. What can we do about it?

    Hello:

Please see this discussion.  You buy a very specific memory for any HP laptop with Mobile Intel 5 series chipset.

  • Windows does not start after the use of CD "" Toshiba Recovery and Applications/drivers ".

Well my Toshiba Satellite A205-S5814 laptop was very slow and I was getting very frustrated with it, so I decided pop in the CD "Toshiba Applications/Drvers" perhaps to restore my laptop to factory settings and run perfect once again.

As I was doing this operation and tried fixing it, the thing finished and off the laptop. And when I turned it back on, Windows will now start and give me the Windows Boot Manager screen. My laptop had Vista on it and I even tried to install Windows XP Home Edition on it with a disk I had. But whenever he's going to do, he says he can find t any hard drive? But for sure, there is a hard drive!

I do not understand what has happened and why this Toshiba drive ruined my laptop. Before I used this drive my laptop has always works and works OK, it has been slow but still booted Vista and stuff ran. Can someone please help me or tell me what to do, I think that Toshiba has messed up my laptop with disc here, and I don't think that we should have to pay so he can get fixed.
    Please help me.

    Hello!

I don t think that the Toshiba Recovery disk ruined your laptop.

If I am right on the recovery disk is Vista and it was installed before. I think the installation going something wrong.
When you get the Windows Boot Manager you can fix your computer? You can reinstall Vista without the recovery disk when you choose this option, then Toshiba product recovery.

When you install Windows XP, you need a SATA driver. If you don t use one, you will get this error which can t find hard drives.
You can download it on the Toshiba site and after booting from the XP CD, you must press F6 to load drivers from a floppy external drive or use you nLite to create a disc with drivers.

  • Windows does not start after the installation of NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500. Help!

Before, I had a Sparkle GeForce2 MX400 64 MB AGP Graphics Card with the installed driver. I have not had any problems with him, but I need to upgrade, so I got a NVIDIA Inno3D GeForce FX5500 256 MB 128 bit AGP graphics card. So, the thing is, before I installed the driver for it, the computer was working fine, but of course I can't play games. So I downloaded the driver from NVIDIA (175,19 I think), and I installed it in safe mode to avoid any conflict with my antivirus. The installation is complete, and the system restarted. Everything was going well until after the windows logo (by the way, I'm on Windows XP Pro SP3), when the system crashed all of a sudden. The screen turns off, the unit of the system itself was still on, but it does not. I tried enabling / disabling the NumLock, CapsLock button to check if there is an answer, but I have nothing. I manually turned the computer off, waited for about 3 minutes, the market again, but again, the system crashes after the screen Logo of Windows XP. I started in SafeMode again, uninstalled the NVIDIA driver, restart the system and everything went back to normal. I retried my old 64 MB AGP card and it still works fine. I really need to install the driver to make the most of my 256 MB graphics card. Can anyone help please?
So far I did the following:
    1. re-installed Windows XP
2 re-installed the driver NVIDIA about 5 times already.
    3. update all the drivers of my motherboard.
    4. completely removed all traces of NVIDIA using Drive Cleaner and put it back.
    5 installed DirectX 9.0.
Still, none of them worked. Help!

    Here are my computer specs:
    OS: Windows XP Pro SP3
    Motherboard: ECS 661FX-M rev 1. 0 b
    Processor: Pentium 4 2.4 GHz
    RAM: 768 MB
HARD drive: 1x80GB IDE slave, 1x20GB IDE Master
BIOS: Phoenix Tech, LTD 6.00 PG 01/18/2006 v2.2
    Antivirus: Avast free Antivirus v6

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you! :)

PS: I know that my computer is really old. But please don't advise me to upgrade the entire computer or something like that. I can't afford to buy right now a new. Thank you.

    Hello

I suggest to start the computer in safe mode and check if you can start.
    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true

If you are able to start the computer in safe mode, then go to Device Manager and uninstall the drivers for the graphics card and restart the computer.

If it boots fine in normal mode and then try to install the latest drivers in normal mode and check if that helps.

    Check if that helps.

I did a clean install of windows 7 Home premium 64 on my dell inspiron duo 1090, returning 8.  This laptop does not have a disk drive or an Ethernet port.  I used Installer 64 bit of this Web site and the corresponding link.  http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_8-windows_install/can-i-revert-back-to-Windows-7-from-Windows-8/f8f5aaaa-8a18-4255-a6b2-5ecd6840d7ab

It installed perfectly fine at first.  I was unaware of the proper order of pilot facilities and went first on the network drivers.  Designed for cordless operation and then use the updates automatic/driver finder.   After going on the dell site and download the drivers of network to a flashdrive from another computer, I then unpacked and used the setup.exe.  Now, when you try to restart the computer it perpetually loop screen Dell, the only options in F2 for Setup or F12 for boot options (the only option being the hard drive boot because there is no disk drive physical and nothing mounted on a virtual disk drive).

How to make a 'Keyless Install"of Windows:

Boot from the DVD of Windows 7 disc or a USB flash drive that you created, and launch the installation.
