  I'm having a problem with my Windows XP Home Edition lose an output audio and returning to its display go back to a previous version.

  ~ 3 months ago, I had an infection, which I thought that I solved it with Malwarebytes or Avast. Other FREE antivirus/anti(fill in) suggestions?

  There has been some changes to the UI recently. Everything is still there, just in a slightly different place. Try going to Firefox > Options > Options.

I took it to the repair guy and they converted all the files (.old) and then reinstalled the operating system that has recovered the old files and got the computer running again.
