iDRAC7 virtual media - USB flash drive map

I'm testing a new T320 with an iDRAC7. Management station is Win 7 with IE 9. With the virtual console open I select Virtual Media > launch Virtual Media. A USB stick is mounted on the management station. The flash player appears in the virtual media window in the E drive and a new drive will appear on the managed system named "CD Drive (E :) ». If I select the mapped check box flash drive, nothing changes in the details pane, the two entries still say "not mapped". Similarly the contents of drive is not accessible from the managed workstation.

After some searching around it appears this behavior occurs when the plugin type is set to Native uner Console > Virtual Console. If the type of plug-in type is changed to Java then flash can be mapped as expected.

So I was wondering if there is something that can be done to make it work with the type of plug-ins native (ActiveX) that I prefer not to use Java.

The picture below shows the problem - the USB box is selected but the drive is not mapped, it shows just like a CD player empty on the target system.

Usually if the native mode does not work but Java, then something goes wrong with the ActiveX plugin.  If you disable your browser plugins and make sure the DRAC is a trusted Site with all ActiveX scripts allowed for that zone, then usually the plugin will download and run correctly.  If it still does not work, try another browser like Firefox or IE8.

  • Some USB flash drives REFUSE to work in this 40TL963B

Hi all. I recently bought a new 40TL963B and so far I have found nothing wrong with her.

Except that... when I listen to it all the Satellite channels, I noticed thay were very different from my FreeSat box. Duplicate the layers, randomly arrested... etc. It made me want to not use the built-in satellite feature.

However, I found a program called ToshibaEdit which allowed me to manually change all the digital channels on the TV. Grand... I though. Until I met this problem-->

Inorder to change the ads, you must copy the TV channels on a USB flash drive, you can edit them on your PC. Now, it took me AN HOUR to do, because of two flash readers I used, none of them worked... I kept getting a "Write Fail" error. WTF?

The disks are formatted in FAT32, one is a 8 GB is 2 GB.

Finally, I tried an external 2.5 "USB 120 GB hard drive. Even if the disc is defective... This WORKER. I expect flash drives to work, to be honest, but all of them... the external USB hard drive worked.

In any case, I spent another hour sort channels, until I was ready to transfer the data back. And. Yes... the same problem. This time, I received an error "failed to read". Again, tried the external USB HDD... worked the first time.

Now, this HARD drive is faulty, so he'll be thrown... so I'm going to need a flash player to do it again if something happens.

And then... can ANYONE tell me why on Earth two appropriate, fully working almost brand new USB flash drives REFUSE to work in this TV, but a former, fairly well defective USB external drive MADE? In addition, the same flash drive that I tried to copy the data from digital channel with was also used for a backup of the Firmware... and it WORKED perfectly. It works also for use with the media player.

While this TV has a hatred of Flash drives all of a sudden?
Anyone can shed some light on this?

In addition, very quickly, TV seems to lose its TV settings every time that I bring the TV out of Eve. I'm going to the TV Dynamic and adjust all the settings, but he returned to AutoView and all settings back to 0. Is it a fault or is there something I need to do to 'save' the settings per channel?

Any help at all will be appreciated greatly.

    Hello

    > And then... can ANYONE tell me why on Earth two appropriate, fully working almost brand new USB flash drives REFUSE to work in this TV, but a former, fairly well defective USB external drive MADE?

AFAIK the 40TL963B TV supports a common HS USB 2.0 interface and memory flash can be formatted in FAT16 or FAT32 file system. So there is no specific requirement for USB flash memory

  • What is a Windows 8 certified USB flash drive?

I just bought my 3rd USB flash drive in the hope of being able to copy my recovery image. My computer would not use the first two I tried all ports USB 4 - port 2.0 and 3.0. This time, I bought a HP flash drive who said that she supports Windows 8. I understand that I should not use a Windows 8 certified USB flash drive. Before I open this disc, I want to know if it's a. If so, I will return it not open - unlike the first two I tried.

The States of package under requirements that Windows 8 is one of the necessary systems. For me, this does not mean that it is certified for Windows 8. Am I wrong?

    Computer: HP 500 - a60. 8.1 Windows (x 64)

    Hello

Your question has not been answered by Erico on one of your other posts?

If a piece of equipment is certified MS then it should be presented to MS for certification.  Some USB flash drives are marked on the package compatible with Windows 8, but this does not mean that the particular flash drive is "certified."

There is to many, many USB flash drives that work with Windows 8. Some have argued that, if the USB flash drive as a 'removable' device, so it should work with the HP Recovery Media Creator.  However, I recently discovered that one of flash USB 2 (team F108 64 G) drives that I is not set up as a 'removable device' when you open my ThisPc (myPC) and it works perfectly for me.

  • Ultrabook HP 4 t-1100 - hard drives defective - No. DVD player - made HP sells recovery USB flash drives?

    Hello

I am repairing a laptop HP Touchsmart Ultrabook 4 t-1100 for a friend. The pc wouldn't start. BSOD, would try to repair itself, then BSOD again. I ran the hard drive from the bios test. He said that the hard drive has failed. I bought a new drive hard Western Digital 7mm Blue, replaced the wrong drive, has passed the test to drive hard and then asked my friend if she had the Windows 8 recovery disc or a flash supplied with the computer player.

Apparently, the recovery discs are not included with Ultrabooks, nor are a recovery flash drive. Being that this computer has been for a schoolgirl teenager, given to him by his mother of the computer-illiterate, nor had the foresight to do a restore of backup USB flash drive. All Ultrabooks do not have a reader of CD/DVD/BLU, so a USB recovery "disk" is necessary.

I don't have another computer to Windows 8 lying autour to make a USB recovery. Some people sell images of USB recovery on eBay, but they don't seem very good reputation.

And apparently they do not put the product key of Windows 8 on the bottom of portable computers more either! HP offers to sell a "recovery disc" through their section of the support of their website, but it is obviously not a DVD player to put it in.

Here's my quandry: If I buy the "recovery disk" HP, they will send me a DVD or a USB FlashDrive with a system image on it? And if they send me DVD, I'll be able to put it in a computer Windows 7 and make a bootable system image that then I could put it on a USB key? Then, Windows will automatically find the product key?

I just bought a Split 13 x 2 13-m110dx PC that came with Windows 8. I have upgraded the OS to 8.1 and made a copy of the recovery Partition using a USB flash drive, and deleted the recovery of the PC disk that I learned that I could do. However, when I tried to retrieve OEM provided using the USB flash drive by following the directions at creation and use of a recovery of Microsoft USB drive (Windows 8) "System Recovery" was not available to the title of "troubleshooting." I tried to tell it to boot from the USB, but it askes me to insert the support of windows or other media, but rejects the flash player. What do I do now because I have not all discs?

  • Can I use a USB Flash drive?

    Windows XP Professional - SP3 - Version 2002

Can I use a USB Flash drive to increase memory? My machine has 512 MB of RAM, and I have a 1.80 GHz CPU Celeron (r) processor.
From what I've researched, because my OS is Windows XP and I have 512 MB of RAM, I cannot use a 4 GB Flash drive.
I use a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) and lots of sample packs and I have need of more memory. My machine is maxed out at 512 MB of RAM.
If I buy a 4 GB Flash drive, can I load my DAW on the Flash drive and optimal storage space or should I buy a hard drive to accomplish my problem of not having enough memory?

    Thanks in advance!

512 MB you should be fine for Windows XP. OK, the application may run more slowly than on a modern computer - but performance is reasonable.

Like me, I have a computer with 1 linear array of 512 MB memory and a 128 MB memory chips - making the total up to almost 640MO - but I use Photoshop CS3 on it daily and it works fine for most tasks.

However, if you want to get some further improvements to your computer for the RAM intensive applications performance, I would recommend increasing the virtual memory.

    More about memory virtual here-

    http://ask-Leo.com/what_is_virtual_memory.html

    To increase the virtual memory-

Do a right click my computer > click Properties > Advanced tab > settings under 'Performance' button > Advanced tab in the performance Options window > change button under "virtual memory".

Now select the custom size option.

The options below, you can see some details like -

    Minimum allowed - XX MB

    Recommended - XXXX MB

    Currently allocated - XXXX MB

Make sure that you set the value of initial size (MB) near the recommended space. The value of maximum size to a value much greater than currently allocated space. (But always value less than 2048 maximum size - you don't need that much).

That could give some amount of performance increase - but he won't give you a magical boost of performance.

  • Laptop HP 15-R084NG: is it possible to copy a HP recovery on another USB flash drive support?

    Hello.

    Just a few questions please:

    1. when I do only once "HP Recovery Media" to a USB key, I can then 'copy' and 'paste' on another USB flash drive as long as the 2nd flash player has sufficient capacity?

    The recovery still works well?

I ask this question in case I have to change to another USB flash drive and I am aware I can only have a copy of the HP recovery.

    2. If this is the case, I then can also make a backup on a Western Digital external drive so that in case of malfunction of the USB flash drive, can I still transfer files to another USB flash drive?

Thanks in advance for the answer.

    Best regards.

  • HP v210w - 32 gb USB Flash Drive Urgent help please :(

    Hello..

I have a HP v210w 32 Gb USB Flash Drive.

I was copying some stuff on it and all of a sudden it stoped working!
I tried to open it, but it is said that the partition is not accessible and the media is write protected!

I tried to format it, but it does not work! He said that the disk is write protected!

I thought it was damaged but when I opened the Disk Manager, he was there, healthy and active!

I tried using "HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool", and it has detected, it failed to format

I also tried to use partitions such programs as 'MiniTool Partition Wizard Professional Edition' and 'EaseUS Partition Master' and they detect it as an active reader and healthy! and I can delete it's drive and recreate it, but nothing happens after the application of changes!

What is the problem with my Flash drive?
I have it only 8 months ago

is there a solution or hope to fix it and make it work again?

    Hello Meleha,

Try this to see if it helps.

    Reach
    http://www.PNY.com.tw/index.php?CLS=2&mode=download

This version corrects HP usb readers that have read-only problem (unable to write to the USB because it says as its read-only).

USB Flash Driver Format Tool (Ufix-II) is supposed to be the fix more successful by both programs.

You might need to 7 - Zip installed to extract the .rar file if Windows cannot open it.  It's a free program.

    http://www.7-zip.org/

You will extract the downloaded file "RecoverTool_V2.00.42_M1223 8CE.exe" and run.

  • XP Pro virtual memory optimization: Flash Drive & disc?

I have a question - several actually, on win XP Pro virtual memory optimization when using both/either SATA hard drive and USB Flash drive.

I read http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308417 and a few other resources around the web forum, but don't see any true geniuses answers about what measures lead to high performance.
I understand about the benefits of min and max, but what kind of division, if any, should be used?
the particular system with what I experience is a laptop presario that has "fast" USB 2 and SATA 150 drive interface using a typical disk of 80 GB at 5400 RPM.
Max transfer through this channel sata speed is much higher on paper than USB, but of course that is not the whole story.  and the usb flash drives themselves vary considerably in their performance in practice.  I don't know, for example, if, given the two devices as memory virtual stores, it's better to spread the load between the two [I have a concept/model in mind raid] or to bias the allocation manually for the flash/RAM?  It is best to let windows manage the space or is the virtual memory model for XP too primitive to make a good job of determining how to use what device?
    Thanks for any help

More / or less expensive flash drives did not address if compatible with Windows 8.

Thanks in advance for your help...

    Hello

If the flash drive is listed as "Windows compatible 8" may not be used - the reason is that the creation of HP recovery media software is seeking a device marked Win 8 compatible show as internal drives flash drives and external .

In the example below, the 32 Gb flash drive USB 'Dave G' shows as a drive hard internal who can not be used, while the USB flash drive "Removable disc H" would work.
