IE ad ons

Is it a good idea to disable add ons in windows vista. I have a hp pavilion a6803w computer. If you do how do.

Hello

Go to the Control Panel, and then click Internet Options.  Click on the tab programs above, then click on Manage Add-ons.  Right-click once on the add-on in the upper pane and the option to disable etc will appear in the lower pane.  Choose the type of add-on in the upper left.

I hope this helps.

How can I use external modules installed, rather than the site of Mozilla, like DAP add-on for example, that came with the installation of DAP again? My suggestion is to add unverified option Add-ons for could be enabled too also manually by the user. With the adequate warning that this is recommended for users experienced.

I don't mind provide your comments because it would probably unnecessary as "feedback". Just, let me remind that users - their number and their satisfaction - is it that help a browser to be at the top. When I switched from IE to FF, it was because FF satisfies me a lot more, and it has been and still is the best browser imho. But nothing is constant, even the love of fans hardliners like me, and who are one thing is constant could only make a mistake.

  • I can't see the list of my Add-ons (extensions). It shows me a blank page.

After that I updated firefox 42.0, I can't see the list of my Add-ons (extensions). I see a blank page instead. Modules work, but I can't manage/uninstall any of them.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files that store the registry extensions.

Delete the files (extensions.json, extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) extensions.* and compatibility.ini in the profile folder of Firefox to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created if necessary.

    See "extension corrupted files:

If you see disabled extensions or is not compatible in "Firefox button/Tools menu > Modules > Extensions ' and then click the Tools button at the left end of the search bar to check if there is an update available compatibility.

  • -Add-ons not no projection in the add-on after the 42.0 Update Manager

After the update to Firefox 42.0, when I open the Add-ons Manager, show none of my modules that were there already, and there is the message "You have no Add - ons of this type installed". However, the Add-ons are definitely still installed and still work.

Hmm, a user in another thread said extensions endangered at Windows startup. Sometimes 'cleaning' software will change the files in the profile folder of Firefox on a calendar, including at Windows startup. If you have a software like that, you can exclude Firefox?

    Two other thoughts:

    (1) you use a complete theme? It is more than a nice toolbar background and can affect the functioning of the integrated pages.

    (2) in case there is a problem with the damaged program files, you can try this:

    Clean reinstall it

We use this name, but it isn't about deleting your settings, this is to ensure that the program, files are clean (not incompatible, corrupt or exotic code files). As described below, this process does not disrupt your existing settings. Don't uninstall NOT Firefox, that does not need.

    (A) download a fresh Installer for Firefox 42.0 https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ in an ideal location. (Scroll down your preferred language).

    (B) the release of Firefox (if any).

    (C) simply rename the folder of the current programme, either:

    (Windows 64-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox

    (Windows 32-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files\OldFirefox

    (D) run the installer downloaded to (A). It should automatically connect to your existing settings.

Page modules work in the reinstalled Firefox? If this is not the case, there is always a problem in the profile folder.

Note: Some plugins can only exist in this OldFirefox file. If it is missing something essential, present in these files:

    • \OldFirefox\Plugins
    • \OldFirefox\browser\plugins

Otherwise, there is no reason to keep the old folder except research/curiosity.

  • You have disabled most of the Add-ons that I depend on. Now I use Chrome.

I use some add-ons that you disabled. Like Dashlane, I depended on for many years. Keeps me alone by FF because I use so many sites that require a login. Even if it does not appear as being disabled, it no longer works in goodbye and next and next.

You may need to update Dashlane. See this recent thread where this has solved the problem: some unattainable version 40.1 Add-ons.

  • When I click on the gear in modules to select Reset all the Add-ons to update manually, NO checkmark shows and firefox deletes icon Protection of Kaspersky

I love the old version of Firefox, because I REFUSE to use my computer without Kaspersky. I have it? > Kaspersky is MORE important for me than Firefox (G.Chrome is my backup)

Now I have KIS 2016 and I love its hexagonal icon, showing attempts it is blocking (it is set to block). Firefox 3 times now DELETED this icon, but shows that the Protection of Kaspersky is always an active add-in. I had to uninstall KIS 2016 3 times to return to this icon. When I click on the gear to select the background choice 'Reset all the Add-ons to update manually', nothing happens. No check mark shows, in Options / Advanced, I chose never "check updates". I'm tired of wasting my time to re - install KIS 2016 to get back on this icon. About: config I have enabled FALSE app.update.auto, app.update.enable and app.update.silent. What can be done in addition to the removal of Firefox? (I'm NOT going to install latest Firefox because it is incompatible with KIS).

You are using a version of Firefox that is very old, please upgrade to the latest version of Firefox updated to the latest version. Kapersky drops support for older versions of Firefox, so if you do not update you may encounter problems in the strange, not to mention many security bugs in older versions of Firefox.

Then, make sure that you use the latest version of Kapersky and then use controls, buttons and Toolbars Customize Firefox to add the icon of kapersky on toolbars of Firefox.

  • Some add-ons unachievable in version 40.1

I installed 40.1 FF and have you encountered a problem. I have some add-ons that do not work, for example Dashlane. It is stated that he "could not be verified for use in Firefox. Proceed with caution. Then, when I go into details, she mentions on a "signature of the add-on. I tried to do everything to get my extension work, even closing browser, erase my internet cache, cookies, history... Re-open FF and yet a few my custom extensions/add-ons will not come, the error of the add-on cannot be checked/add on signature.

Can someone help me with this, or it can solve.

    Thank you.

If Add-ons says "Proceed with caution" page, the extension is not blocked, this is just a warning for your information.

Your Dashlane icon disappears from the toolbar, or the icon does not work? What problems are you having?

You can try to update Dashlane to see if what works best with your Firefox 41? I installed version https://www.dashlane.com/download 3.5.2.91395 test and it appears on the toolbar. When I click on the button, after a delay, he invites me to create an account.

  • lost my bookmarks, passwords, history, add-ons

    My acc sync:
Thursday, September 3 2015... I install new windows and new firefox on my computer... I log into my acc and sync but not send my information... I lost all the bookmarks, history, passwords, add-ons
    pls help me...
    Thank you

Edit: removed personal information for your protection. (philipp)

When you set up synchronization on a new installation and initial synchronization is complete, if there were errors in the process of an error log was created. No error - Sync log have any detectable errors.

The 2nd screenshot seems didn't sync no data at all - the supplied server plug empty files @1 kb.

Have you requested a new password for synchronization when you try to configure the synchronization on this new installation?
If you did, your data was wiped out by the synchronization server. The new password is useless saved data; encryption of your data when it is out of your systems is created from the current password. Change the password and Firefox can not decrypt your data; the server is prepared for a data loading costs to allow the user to use the same email address.

Sorry, but the synchronization was not designed as a backup for the data backup media when formatting a device and reinstall everything. The encryption used by Sync system leaves no room for error. Given to answer many other questions similar to your support, I can only imagine that the account password has been changed before being able to connect to the synchronization service.
When properly used for the synchronization of several peripheral user data would still be on another device, would there be a user error or if other issues arise.

    Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}
    While you are in safe mode;

Type of topic: preferences #advanced< enter > in the address bar.

    Under Advanced, select General.
Find and stop using hardware acceleration.

Search web sites secure. Are there problems?

Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that turns off temporarily
hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables
-Add-ons (extensions and themes). If the problem disappears,
that tells us something. If it is not the case, this tells us something else.

  • Why don't security browser Avira displayed when I search modules in the Add-ons Manager page?

Why don't security browser Avira displayed when I search modules in the Add-ons Manager page?

If I search in google, it appears in the list of results, and it displays a add to Firefox"" button.

However when I click on the "Add to Firefox" button, I get a message "Firefox prevented this site from asking you to install software on your computer" with the button authorize. Why is this and is - it safe to click the allow to install this extension?

Hi Roberto2525, through the Manager of addons you will only find extensions that their developer chooses to host with mozilla / addons.mozilla.org, addons not they want to distribute themselves.

the warning message you are seeing is normal and is displayed before the installation of each addon. as the firefox addons are always free to do almost everything that is possible, you must install the addons which authors you trust (extensions hosted on addons.mozilla.org are carefully controlled until they are published).

from 41 firefox, firefox will require that hosted also outwardly need addons must be signed by mozilla, after what they've been through a few basic checks. so, if you install the extension avira and it says something like "could not be verified for use in firefox," then if please contact avira as well and ask them to get their signed addon: signature of the add-on in Firefox
