IE7 broke my Tecra S1

Can anyone help?

I downloaded & installed IE7 on my Tecra S1 (successfully) and rebooted... now I go through the "starting windows (XP) upward" bit, connect, the wallpaper loads (but nothing else, not the icons on the desktop etc.) and get a message telling me that IE has a problem and needs to close... and nothing else happens. Zero.

Check battery etc but no joy. Someone advised that I try to boot in safe mode... but I don't have the slightest idea how to do (I'm not an expert).

Any advice greatly appreciated. Thank you

To start in safe mode, you should do this:

If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off
Wait a few seconds, and then turn on the computer.
Start pressing the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears.
If you start typing the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error".
To resolve this issue, restart the computer and try again.
Make sure that the safe mode option is selected.
Press ENTER. The computer then begins to start in safe mode.

In my opinion the ASP (certified partner) in your country should be able to help.

Therefore, contact with the technician of ASP and ask for the manipulation of the Fryer!

  • Tecra A9: IE7, it is freezing during the use of WLan

Well, the first problem of loss of connection has a problem of Netgear. Now I have another problem Wireless:

I start the computer, wait until everything starts and it is connected to my Netgear router.
I can start outlook and recover all my email, but when I run IE7 it freezes and I have to ctrl alt del out of the program.

If I try to use MSMessenger, it keeps trying to connect but never does.
I have to restart the computer that usually solves the problem, but sometimes it takes many re - start.
So, I am connected to the router, can retrieve email but unable to connect to the net.

I run a program of repairing the registry and when the computer is OK the program runs from beginning to the end, but if I try to run it when it is impossible to connect to the net it will freeze to check the .lnk shortcuts.

I have run chkdsk/r several times as well.

Any thoughts on why he does this?

    Hello

I recommend the entire Vista and also the IE7 update to the last State.
In addition, you should check if the same symptoms appear using another browser such as Firefox or Opera for example.

  • Tecra R10 - TrueSuite Access Manager doesn't work with IE8

Fingerprint software does not start after you install Internet Explorer 8 in my Tecra R10 TrueSuite Access Manager stops working that is when I open a site that requires the login/password.

I've updated the TrueSuite Access Manager to the latest version 2.5.28.0 but the problem remains. From the console to access the password Bank Manager the program stops responding.

Operating system: Vista Bussiness 32 bit
    Internet Explorer: 8.0.6001.18702
    TrueSuite Access Manager: 2.5.28.0

Does anyone have an idea of the problem?

    Thank you.

    Hello

    Have you tested with IE7?
Did this happen using the preinstalled Toshiba OS and Windows with IE7?

If this n t happens using the IE7 while there may be a compatibility issue between the two parties; IE8 and TrueSuite Access Manager.

  • TECRA S5 Nvidia Quadro NVS130M - sudden BSOD - Win 7 Pro 32-bit

After moving from Vista to Windows 7, everything worked fine until two days ago, when suddenly my laptop stopped working. I had to hard restart it, and then all hell broke loose.

    The problem is the following:

    Info part number: PTS53E-00S009EP - Toshiba Tecra S5 - 2 GB Ram Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 2.0 Ghz - Nivdia Quadro NVS130M

Windows 7 Professional 32-Bit started to report all of a sudden and the error code 43 for the graphics card (Nvidia Quadro NVS130M). I got the latest nvidia drivers, so I uninstalled the previous and restarted the machine and installed the new. After the restart, the laptop crashed with a blue screen.

I went back to the last known good configuration (drivers vga adapter default of windows, which does not recognize the Nvidia Quadro NVS130M) and the laptop booted up normally allow me to get back into Windows.

I went to the Nvidia drivers previous, and arrived the same problem, blue screen, go back to the last known good configuration (by default windows vga adapter driver).

I went back to the latest drivers for the Nvidia Quadro NVS130M found on the download from Toshiba site, same situation as before.

I went backwards to the oldest drivers on the Toshiba Support downloads site, and the question remains.

Since August, I have Windows 7 Professional 32 - Bit and it worked fine, it is completely up to date, and have always used the two wit the factory default Vista and Windows 7 Nvidia drivers.

I have installed windows updates recently, the latest being early November 2011.

That recent change, about 15 days ago, it's that I've finally found the drivers for the SD card reader, they where for windows XP it is interesting enough, but Windows 7 immediately recognized the SD reader that she had not until then. He could not yet identify the kind of material, it has been.

I tried to uninstall the drivers from toshiba for the reader of SD card, but even in this case with this uninstalled and hardware disabled in the management of the material, when I try to use the factory drivers downloaded from Toshiba blue screen happens again.

Another symptom, I noticed is if the blue screen do not occur (when he does it specifically lists a file from drivers nvidia as the cause), the computer will stay with a black screen and the fan will operate at extremely high speed, but there seems to be no HARD disk activity, as the drive HARD activity on the laptop does not light at all.

I read there is a problem that can lead to the computer by blocking or gel at least that the latest version of the UPEK software is used. However it does not mention anything on a blue screen. Also, given that the blue screen error message specifies a Nvidia driver file name, he wouldn't do much sense this problem it was the UPEK fingerprint software that was the cause.

He wouldn't make any sense at all because if I leave the default vga only adapter driver and do not install a driver for the graphics card, everything works well, reader SD, UPEK Figerprinting, etc...

I had all this work, including the fingerprinting software until exactly two days ago for what the confusing too me.

I ran Endpoint Protection AV software from Symantec, the computer is perfectly clean, there is no virri and indication as abnormal.

I'm now totally ideas and I can't seem to find information on this topic.

Your help is very appreciated and urgent, because if all else fails, I would be forced to go back to Vista, something that I wouldn't really really really like to do, because of the hassle of reinstalling OS, Office and software for a total of more than 50 GB and due to the fact that Vista is significantly lower in so many aspects to Windows 7.

Thanks in advance for your help and support.

    Hi Jorge,.

I've also read about pilot of fingerprints that cause a freeze on the Tecra series but as far as I know it was about A11 and M11 series S5 shouldn't be affected, but to be honest, the described issue looks more like a problem of graphics chip
Eventually it s graphic driver not question but related graphic chip problem

But have you tried to test the laptop with the new OS preinstalled? Try this and use the operating system has been pre-installed by Toshiba in this case, you might check if he s really a problem or a chip driver problem

  • Tecra S4 has some problems on Vista

I have improved my S4 of December 2006 with Vista a few months ago (via modus-link, for free), I like the look, but have still some problems... are they known?

Using IE7 with more then 7 tabs open, especially those who use Outlook 2003 at the same time, I often get total do crash... no task manager and so forth can be opened, HD works strongly, but carefully to close some tabs in Internet Explorer using "Alt + F4" the machine begins to speak with me again.

Another problem: the fingerprint sensor. It worked fine with XP and both Firefox or IE to remember passwords. He recognized by typing in a password field and asked to record with fingerprints. You use Vista, it gets updated each time when a new update Firefox is available f.e... but it does not work.

last but not least: no drivers for Photo/video of entry available six months after the official start (esp. Canon N650U Scanner and grabbeeX + Video grabber, the old drivers for XP often do its job, but sometimes causes bluescreens.)

Beside the Scanner-video-drivers, everything is up to date, Microsoft Windows and Office and recommend Toshiba for Vista drivers.

    An idea for a workaround?
    Thanks, Olli23

Problem initially seems to be the Alps Touchpad.

In my eyes there s nothing unusual. I imagine that the CPU and the network run with high performance while using 7 tabs IE7 (7 sites).
This can lead to a few intermissions.
In addition, I would recommend Vista to the latest status update!

With regard to the issue of fingerprints and firefox:
According to your description of the update for firefox made mistakes when performing updates
Maybe the registry keys are corrupt
I recommend you to remove the software of fingerprint.
Then, restart the laptop and also erase the registry with freeware called CCleaner.
Then run all updates of Firefox.
After firefox update to restart the laptop and reinstall the fingerprint software.
Either way... you can turn off the automatically updated to firefox!

    Regarding the graphics driver Vista;
It seems that the Tecra S4 was delivered with an nVidia graphics card.
Check the Web sites of third-party 3rd as www.omegadriver.net and www.laptopvideo2go.com for a Vista driver!

  • Tecra S1 - XP product key is not accepted

    Dear all,

I have a Tecra S1 where the original hard drive is completely broke down. I put a new hard drive in this laptop and I would like to install windows again. Unfortunately, I don't have the original windows CD that must be delivered with this laptop. Until now, I've tried 3 installation CD but all these CD recognize not the product key at the bottom of my laptop.

Does anyone know how to get a correct installation CD?
Anyone know what to change to get the CD here, I must accept the key on the bottom of my computer?

In advance thank you very much for your help

    Martijn

    Hi Martijn,

I think you mean the product key on the underside of the computer laptop, right?
Well, this key doesn't work with normal disks of Microsoft because it s an OEM license key and belongs to the version preinstalled Windows.
If you install Windows on a normal Microsoft disc, you need to use the key that belongs to this disc!

You can also install Windows Toshiba Recovery disk, but if you don t have such a disc ask your provider of local service for it.

  • Replacing the screen Tecra M3

    Greetings,

I broke the screen on my tecra M3... around spare parts? Also the plug on replacing the screen

    Hello

The replacement of the screen is a tricky thing it s not so easy
So this should be done only by electricians for laptop

The Tecra M4 has been equipped with a screen of 14 "XGA
But a laptop screen is one of the expensive laptop parts
I m not quite how it is safe, but you will need about 300-350 EUR

I think that it s no need to replace the screen if I was you I would look for a Tecra M3 of second hand.

    Welcome them

PS: All the laptop parts can be ordered at a local ASP (service point/partner)

  • How to insert new Modules of RAM in Tecra M7

    Hello
I use a Tecra M7 with 2 GB of RAM installed. Because of my work, I need more than that and bought 2 new Modules RAM 2 GB each.
But trying to open the back of the M7 I have not found a place where I could access the old RAM Modules and replace. Does anyone have a Description or a photo where I open the M7 to replace RAM modules?

    Andreas

I can give you a little tutorial how to change the modules:

Remove the cover of the keyboard on the top of the keyboard (taking a screwdriver flat-blade and gently enter), then remove the 2 screws and remove the keyboard. You can disconnect the keyboard by releasing little support on the keyboard port. But BE GENTLY, brokes stuff too fast. ;)

Then remove the cover of the memory (only 2 screws :) between you and the memory locations) and replace the modules. After exchanging just do the same as I've described, but backwards. : D

    Good luck

  • You need a card mother Tecra S1 or intact with mainboard failure.

I am owner of a not so happy nowadays to a Tecra S1 1.6 GHz. He got all the typical problems for this model. First HARD drive broke, then taken helmet and graphics card now. Everything was OK until they broke out the graphics card. It worked like a dream and has the old physical ports on type I need.

I have red on the net is a very common problem, but if anyone still has one perhaps used more due to age, usage or other defects, I would be interested to buy for a reasonable price. It is possible to get a new motherboard, but a? ¬ 750 is not an acceptable price. I'm sure there must be several S1 not used there, but perhaps the problem is to find them. At least not trash so Mo is always OK!

Send me a note if you have good advice.

    Hello!

Have you looked on eBay? Here, you can get a large number of spare parts or you are looking for a fault S1 with a motherboard intact.

Sorry, but I think it's the only way to get parts that they are not an ASP (authorized provider service).

    Good luck!

    Good bye

I try to format the 6 GB to 2 GB in FAT, but not joy.

  • Tecra M5: Can not access the internet pages, but can ping in cmd.exe

Hi all, this is confusing to me.

I've been happily connected to my WLAN for more than a year without any problems. I recently updated my drivers for the following on my Tecra M5:

    -Intel Pro Wireless adapt
    -Drivers audio Sigmatel
    -nVidia graphics card

Now, after facilities, everything was fine. However, a few days later, I turned on the laptop and went to IE7 and it cannot display the web page (my homepage is www.google.co.uk). I called my ISP to help and they reported problems on the service, and they gave me the www.google.co.uk ip address I got a response of in cmd.exe. It seems that I can get out on the internet but I can't access the Web pages - it could be a DNS issue?

I have disabled my A - V and firewall and tried but get the same question. I also tried to restore the PC back more than a month and it did not help either. I'd appreciate any help that anyone can give.

I also plugged the laptop directly into the router using an ethernet cable, so it's not only a wireless issue either.

I have installed any other software at all at the moment and the only other thing that got my attention, it's that, in the field of restoration, there a lot of system restore points, which I wasn't expecting to see in the last month. But it could be a Kipper.

    Thank you very much

    MARC

    Hello

According to your message, you are not able to connect to internet via LAN and WLan. Is this good?

Well, in your case I would first check the router settings and re still.
In addition, you must reset the router.

Usually, the router assigns the IP address, and therefore you would just plug the laptop LAN cable and then should be able to connect to the internet.
Please note that the TCP/IP protocol settings must be set to automatic.

    Check everything first!

  • Replacement of Tecra M9 DVD MultiRecorder Panasonic UJ-852

    Hello

Unfortunatelly in my Tecra M9 DVD multirecorder is broken.
It no longer works. System to 'see' it, but no reading CD or DVD, or writing is possible.

I was looking for the recorder ultraslim PANASONIC UJ-852, but it is very difficult to find.

So I bought the Panasonic UJ - 832 - almost the same driver (different write speeds).
But BIOS informed me: ERROR INCORRECT of the BAY and the OS doesn't see at all.

I also put the LG GSA-U10N multirecorder ultraslim wife U-300 toshiba unit but BIOS again informed me: ERROR INCORRECT of the BAY.

    What it means?
Are there opportunities that I can replace my DVD broke to the other by myself?
What I have to buy only UJ-852? Can someone help me?

    Thank you!

    Hello

Maybe you bought a CD/DVD drive that is not compatible, and BIOS can not recognize this because of bad master/slave/c-salt settings.

The settings for the desktop PC readers is editable using the jumper.
The computer s portable slim CD/DVD discs online are controlled by the firmware and you cannot change these settings if you don t have the right firmware.

So I think that you have to buy another compatible
I recommend to ask the ASP in your country for a compatible ODD
