If I buy windows 7 run my games that are vista

If the game is for vista will work on 7

In most cases yes.  Indeed, if the game is made for Vista, it will almost certainly work.  If the game is made for XP and it worked on Vista, it will likely run.  There are a few exceptions, but not many.

Are the games that are compatible with Vista, they are also compatible for Windows 7?

    Hello Karen W.

In large part, Yes.  I didn't fall on one that does not work on Windows 7, which was done on Windows Vista.  But by saying that I haven't met one who does not work on Windows Vista and I have a fairly large library of games.

The only thing that I actually noticied is lowest for the transition to 64-bit, where the 16-bit applications no longer works, and some games just there about 8 years ago still used 16-bit installers.

If your computer is pre-installed with Windows 7 Home Premium, you should have a recovery if partition:

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...

For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".

    ------------------------

If the recovery partition is damaged or does not, you can then use the downloaded Home Premium as an alternative.

  • Can I run a game that has been installed in a Windows version of 32-bit with a 64-bit OS?

That's the question, please answer me.

    Very likely... :)

Most of the games are very good with few 76. The exceptions are-

Very old games of 16 bits (pre 2000) often have 16-bit setup programs that do not work on 64-bit.

They can often be installed on a 32-bit and copied computer at work 64-bit and again.

Some of the most popular games of old have new installers that are compatible with 64-bit available on fan sites.

It is not the OS that is causing the problem with a lot of games. This is the DRM (copy protection) not not grateful

    an OS 64-bit as legitimate.
' 04-'06 are bad years of DRM. The older Starforce , Tages DRM are the most problematic.

Two associated DRM issues are - unsigned drivers (Win7 64-bit not only) or - the DRM is not compatible with 64 bit.

There are several fixes that will get most of the running games-

-Floors has a 64 bit update available on their Web site that works for The Witcher (possibly others).
-When a game cannot be executed because of the more zealous DRM it can very often be fixed with a 'noCD' patch

These can come from a couple of web sites (Mega Games), but some games do not have a noCD patch available.

Then, there are a few games that don't work on Win7 64 bit. Some 16-bit and BACK according to need of games

  • When I try to run a game that uses DirectX, it gives no error message or anything it either, then closes.

When I try to run Black Ops II I double-click the icon and open the Task Manager to verify that the process is running. I see that it is running. But 30 seconds later, the process stops. Then I ran DxDiag and he says I'm under DirectX 11. However when I look for dxcpl.exe in the System32 folder, it isn't here. That's what I think, it is the origin of the problem. Please help me find a way to fix the missing DirectX file!

    Data sheet:

    OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit SP1

    Processor: Intel Core i5 CPU M 460 @2. 53 GHz

    RAM: 6.00 GB (5.87 usable)

    Dell Inspiron N5010

I thought that the question was already answered-

"dxcpl.exe (DirectX Control Panel) is not a default Windows file. I think that it only would be present when

DirectX SDK developer tools are installed. "

Therefore, there is no point in having a dxcpl.exe. It is not relevant to the running of the games.

It is used by software developers who are coding with C++, and because you have not

the software is installed, this file is not in System32.

  • "Buy Windows to another computer" wants that I first put to 8.1

    Hello

I need another code of activation of Windows for a PC that I am about to build. I know that there is an option 'Buy Windows for another computer,' I heard will be cheaper than buying a new one.

However, I am currently on Windows 8 Pro. Whenever I click on 'Buy Windows to another computer', it keeps telling me to update to Windows 8.1. But I don't want my current computer to Windows 8.1 because I have problems with it. I know it's free in the store Windows, but I can't upgrade.

So, how to buy another key for my PC will now if the site won't let me not just because I'm on Windows 8? I'm not good enough for her? If this is the case then there are a few problems with your site's serious usability.

My Fater-in-Law in still being running Windows XP and has deleted somehow free games (Freecell, Solitarie,...) that come with the system.  Unfortunately it does not find the disk WindowXP initially provided with his Hewlett-Packard computer, so it cannot restore from disc tha.

Does anyone know if the GAMES that come with Windows XP can be downloaded from Microsoft, etc...?  I can't find anything on the Microsoft support site.   Thanks for your help

Did you go to windows components installation area in Add or remove programs?

There is a good chance that they are still on the computer and you do not see only them. Go to that area and check the box for Microsoft games and see if it asks for the disc.

  • How can I make Vista compatible with games that are not compatible with vista?

I've heard that I can update vista to play games that were previously not vista compatible (in my case lego creator), but how do I go about this?

    Hi horsesprite,

You can try to run the application in compatibility mode.

  • If I use Windows 7 Professional with the English edition, it would be possible for me to run games that are in Chinese (which means read Chinese characters correctly)?

I noticed her Ultimate version has the language program 35 or more. However, I highly doubt my computer having the power to enforce that. I have to use something like Microsoft Applocale in order to be able to play games then?

    pchau,
I think that your game should work normally and if it is written in Chinese as the display language then it should work.  Best thing to do is to create a restore point and then install the game and try it.  Let us know what happens.

  • I can't run any games that use DirectX

Hello. Before I tell you my problem I will give you some basic information.

My other laptop broke, so now I'm currently using an old Windows Vista laptop I had. This laptop really got destroyed by a Rootkit (I have since found and deleted, has also conducted several full scans with Malwarebytes after I did, found nothing.) It was the guard scare-ware online.

Now, on to the problem. I ran before on this laptop games such as counter-strike and of Garry's Mod, but now I'm having issues running it. Messages error say a few words about hardware acceleration and others, it was graphics issues. Then I ran dxdiag and went to see, it turns out that that's what I got: http://i.imgur.com/5yp7Unq.jpg

As you can see, all my settings acceleration not available. I tried updating my DirectX but in vain. It simply doesn't get it. The red rectangle has been added by me, I believe that it is the source of the problem. Pilots can be screwed. I also recorded diagnosis of DirectX tests in a .txt file and put it in a pastebin here: http://pastebin.com/pBDDFugP please read this if you think that you can find the problem.

I could really use help on how to solve this problem. Please read and answer if you do.
