If I did backup everything on iCloud delete (what I already backed up) on my iPhone?

I continue to get emails from Apple saying that I am low on storage on iCloud and my phone. I was curious about what if I just to the top things I want to save, then delete them from my iPhone without them being deleted continuous to iCloud. Probably a stupid question. But I have pictures of my child on here that I can afford to lose, and I had the saved on iCloud right now and I was wondering if this could help me without anything. Whenever I wanted to add new photos I could just save them. Or would it be easier to just return their place on my Mac and iCloud turn off on my phone? Idk... Help, please. Thanks in advance.

If you want to save the images - save your Mac in iPhoto or Photos

The photo stream and iCloud photo library are transient

Save images on your Mac fact is a bit more permanent - however if these are images, you must preserve I'd do one more back up like OneDrive or Carbonite

    Hello, I'm Edding:

A few days earlier, iCloud warn me your iCloud-storage space is nearly full , so I check Storage manage my iCloud and I find backing up my iPhone and iPad are about 3 G of space above. So I delete the backup on iPhone.

BUT!, so far, the backup space deleted do not come back?

This is a shot of the screen of the Preferences system-> iCloud-> Manage

Is there something wrong with that?

    THX.

Seems like you always have space reserved for your backup. One of the fixes that worked for me was to start backup until it becomes larger, then removes it again.

I also heard that he did not work for some.

  • Re-enable the backup automated in iCloud

To save the size, I deleted a backup of my camera.  From:

iCloud: delete a backup device iOS to iCloud

If you delete your backup for your iOS device, iCloud will stop automatically backup of the device.

Instead of backup of your iCloud iOS device, you can back up your device via iTunes.

I can manually save to iCloud, but how to re-enable automatic backups to iCloud?

You just need to go to settings > iCloud and scroll down to the backup option and make sure it is turned on. When your device is locked, attached to a power source (not a computer) and attached to Wifi, it will back up once within a period of 24 hours each time that these criteria are met.

  • will choose the manually back option in iTunes backup everything that is on my iPhone to my computer? Including the app data

Not a problem just a question. I intend to sell my apple iPhone, it's not compatible with my new wireless network. I can't afford to buy an iPhone outright at the moment, but I plan in the future. I want to backup everything on my iPhone to my Mac so that I can restore the data to a new iPhone later. The current iPhone 5 is already set to save important things to iCloud, if I choose the option with a manual backup encryption will be that record everything, including all the data from the app? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I want to just make sure I have everything before you send the iPhone.

    Hello CallRinny,

I understand that you have a question about your iTunes backups and that you should use. Back on which covers.

In general, an iTunes backup will cover pretty much everything on your iPhone. The best thing to watch over it, it's what doesn't iTunes back upwards and which covers the encrypted backup. Take a look at the information below to clarify this. I would also do that applications will be recorded in your iTunes library, so when you restore your backup, apps will sync back to the wire in one sitting instead to download on the App Store.

    backup iTunes

On your Mac or PC, you can make a backup of your device in iTunes. Synchronize your device with your computer is not the same as performing a backup.

An iTunes backup includes almost all settings and data from your device. An iTunes backup does not include:

    • Content of the iTunes and App Store or directly downloaded from iBooks PDF files (you can save this content using transfer purchases in iTunes.)
    • Synchronized content from iTunes, as imported MP3s or CDs, videos, books and photos
    • Photos already stored in the cloud, like My Photo Stream and iCloud photo library
    • Tap Settings ID
    • Settings and information Apple pay
    • Data activity, health, and keychain (to save this content, you will need to use iTunes backup encrypted ).

Learn How to perform backups in iTunes, how to find them on your Mac or PC, and how to delete backups you no longer need.

Let me know if this clears it for you.

  • Is it possible to send a backup itunes to icloud?

    Sounds random, but here's why...

Old iphone went nut should therefore take to apple to be fixed and it wiped (I backed up on mac before). The fix did not work, so they replaced handset and im new with this one and can recover most of the things I need quite simply, except for one thing... (priceless) notes!

My thought is that all my notes are from the itunes backup, but I don't want to just back the notes, so if I could somehow that transfers upwards to icloud, I could just pick the notes and boom! happy days :-)

You can't choose what specific data to restore from a backup.

I've never heard a backup report bugs, however if you are interested in, you can always restore the device as good as new.

I had the same problem and it has chewed all my disk space. I have a 64-bit Windows 10 - disk 250 gig. I deleted all these files except those with current date and released the 150 gig. Much better to delete these temporary files to risking a crash operating system running out of disk space.

  • Backup data from iCloud!

    Hi guys,.

I have a question does your iCloud, available storage, (I think it's 5 GB Apple provides right?) with each device/Apple Id? Has any link with the iCloud backup data.

For example, I have 1 GB of available space on my iCloud storage and if I turn on the option Back Up Data to iCloud and if my data is more than 1 GB it are saved in the iCloud. These two have no connection at all? or are they two different things?

    Thanks in advance to all!

They are the same thing - your iCloud backups use your iCloud-storage space. You get 5 free concerts for the iCloud account (is not by the machine, for example if you use the same account on 2 devices you'll have 5 GB of available, not 10 gig). If you have 1 GB available and the size of your backup is more than 1 GB, he will not be able to make backup

No sorry.  If it is not saved, then there is nothing to restore.  These pictures will be gone.

  • ICloud deleting deletes photo library photos from iCloud, photo sharing

I have iCloud photo library on my Mac and on my iPhone.  I created an album of photos and videos to spend several weeks going apartment hunting in my neighborhood.  I have friends who are also looking for apartments in my neighborhood and these photos and videos would be useful for them.  So I want to share all these content with them using iCloud, photo sharing.  However, I have this great set of photos/videos over on my Mac or my iPhone, because I have an apartment and my use for these photos.

    So I want to:

    1. create a shared album (let's call it 'Videos apartment').

    2. Add all my photos and videos of my apartment hunting that is currently in my library to iCloud.

3 share only iCloud library with my friends (they can add, comment, do what they want)

4 delete the original files from my library to iCloud I don't don't need or want these photos over on my personal devices.

My question is: if I delete the photo in step 4, which will also remove the same pictures of the iCloud Shared Library?

It would be useful to know if the iCloud share photos are copies separated from my photos of the library, or are the same.

Sharing albums and Photo library iCloud iCloud different services and are stored independently from each other.

When you create a shared album and share with your friends, you will see the shared album and photos in your photo library, but you can remove the originals from your photo library, as long as you do not remove the shared album photos. In the shared album photos can be slightly smaller than your original photos, because there is a limit of size of pixels for shared photos.

Backups do not go to iCloud by car. iCloud is to store documents:

    iCloud Drive FAQ

The backups go to iCloud, but content cannot be played directly. You can check which applications are underway by going to settings > iCloud > storage > Storage manage, click on the device and the list of applications during a backup will be under the section "next backup size. If they are enabled, they are ongoing.

But what I see in the created log file by running the script that is today:

    not found obsolete backups

And yesterday's paper shows that only "automatic" backup files have been deleted as follows:

Remove the following obsolete backups and copies:

    Making key time filename/handle type

    -------------------- ------ ------------------ --------------------

    2 objects deleted

    RMAN >

And when I run after a command, I see a lot of obsolete backups (until December 18):

    RMAN > obsolete report.

And when I run the same command that is in the script on the RMAN prompt, RMAN removes all obsolete backups without problem:

    RMAN > delete noprompt obsolete;

Backups are stored on the disk and then moved to tape by the storage team. I'm only responsible for keeping backups of 7 days on the disk. I have to make sure that obsolete backups are deleted so that there is enough free space on the NAS share allocated for backups. Right now it's full of 71%.

Why RMAN is not delete the rest of the files?

    Please notify.

    Best regards

And it won't delete. It is a normal behavior of RMAN. Read carefully this line:

A recovery window is a period of time that begins at the present time and extends backward in time to the point of recovery.

Example, today is December 26, and your retention period is 7 days... If you go back 7 days, which would be December 19... RMAN will not delete backups because you need on 15 December (backup Sunday level 0) to make the recovery. Lets say if it removes all backups before December 19, then you cannot recover the database with only 19 December backup, you must certainly level 0 backup for backup, which is December 15. So once again,

A recovery window is a period of time that begins at the present time and extends backward in time to the point of recovery.

Make sure you read this link, this is a great example explaining your scenario:

    Recovery window
