If I open Firefox all that happens is a translucent page with only the minimize, maximize and close icons in the upper right corner. How can I restore Firefox?
There is no bar to address, no error message or anything but the three icons in the upper right corner. The whole page is just a giant translucent square with three icons.
Hello MilaRowantree, can you try to start firefox in safe mode by pressing the SHIFT key during startup of this and see if the problem occurs there too? Maybe a theme or hardware acceleration intrudes here...
If safe mode does not work, you can try to disable hardware acceleration in firefox > options > advanced > general and or disable addons that could cause the problem. It would also be interesting what graphics hardware (description of the adapter, driver date and version of the driver) you use - you can access this information in firefox > help > correct information to the bottom of this page... I uninstalled and reinstalled the program, but I still get the same window that displays reduce, restore and exit buttons. Get out and minimize the work but the food is not available. Resizing does not work. I can't go to all the controls in the program to make changes or run a troubleshooter.
The computer problem I worked who had the problem wouldn't me be enough window to reach all the controls in Firefox. I ran virus scans several times and does not solve the problem although I found a bunch of threats and malware. Finally, I've isolated a purchasing department that I was able to uninstall program. That solved the problem with Firefox. It was Shopz. Unpleasant things.

How is it when I try to open one of my favorte often visited Web sites I get a blank page with only the word 'false' in the upper left?
This just started happening the last two days. I tried to add the url to my list to activate in Internet Options, also to accept the list for windows firewall. I rebooted and restored.
It is annoying when I can't access Web sites on my PC. There is no control parenting, nor is it a reason to be since I'm 57 years old, single, live alone and have no children, and not to mention that this isn't a single adult site. This is an auction site. The same thing happens on a site of sports too.

3 have there been recent changes to the computer before the show?
Please go ahead and follow the steps mentioned and later a update on the State of the question.
Method 1: Start Internet explorer with the mode without modules and check.
Click Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, and click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).
If the problem does not persist in Internet Explorer (No Add-ons), then it is one of the Add-ons at the origin of this problem. Please follow the steps below to locate the problem the weak module:
a. restart IE normally.
b. click on tools.
c. click on Manage Add-ons.
d. disable add-ons by clicking on them one at a time to highlight and then click Disable.
e. reactivate modules one by one and check with what add-on, you get this error message.
f. turn off the add-on at the origin of the problem.

Method 1:
Install the latest display driver and check
Uninstall the driver from Device Manager display.
a. close all programs. This will ensure that the programs do not interfere with the update of the driver.
b. right-click on my computer, and then click Properties. This will bring you from the System Properties menu.c. click Device Manager
d. expand the display column of cards by clicking on them. This will show the graphical current map that is using your computer.
e. right click on the adapter, then select Properties.
f. click on the driver tab. This tab displays information about the current driver, as well as options to update, delete, uninstall, and back the driver.
g. click on uninstall
h. restart the computerYou can install the latest display driver for download on the site of computer manufacturing, same driver will reinstall automatically after the restart, if the computer is connected to the Internet.
Method 2:
I suggest you try the system restore. Restore the system to a restore point when your computer was working fine

Try my hand as a result of Dreamweaver tutorial directives to make formatting CSS with absolute positioning, rather than from previously tested code and not having not much of chance. Page looks fine in design DW 8.0.2/Mac window. However, when previewing the page in Safari, the divs are placed in the upper left corner, not in their "absolute" is positioned on the page.
It has a few graphics in the banner that affect rather than leave a distance of 1px. It is the only area where I have lost instructions in the tutorial I think.

Pollyanna, assuming that the use of the program in the way that says tutorials would produce a usable page. It's always to the coding by hand, right?
Strange that the inspector said 100px when I entered the positions here the code doesn't work. Don't even think to check. And really weird as DW isn't making things like the use of margins automatically for the placement of the div, or at least this amount as a more automated option. That's what I bought DW, do "the right thing" for me, otherwise I could also use BBEdit. I'll have to read the article more carefully tomorrow and then to determine my new strategy. I hope that DW will automate things for me somehow. I wish DW tutorials reflect best practices DW at least!
I spent a lot of time-re-hand coding a site frankensteined with many resizable & floating elements. I started with a tested model prepared by someone experienced much more than me who had more div inside div tags than anything I had ever seen. Some of the divs puzzle me. But it worked. It was a real problem to understand and change well. I was hoping to avoid this through the book (DW). HA! Teach me... Back to the treadmill...
