If I share a wireless router with my neighbor, I am able to see their history on my computer?

I'm asking this is because I believe that my boyfriend can be watching things on my computer that are harmful to the computer itself - I want to make sure that it is him and not my neighbors before saying anything. Please help. Thank you!

  • WRTP54G (wireless router with phone connection) with Panasonic BL-C30A network camera (WEP only)

    Hello

I would use this wireless router with WEP I can access the wireless camera (camera does only WEP encryption).
The camera should be the only device authorized to connect to this wireless router.
I can devote channel 11, so only use this wireless router
I know that WEP can be cracked but I think maybe I can set up the router for it does not matter, i.e.,.
While the camera is accessible by this particular router

    so my questions are:
    1. can I configure the router so only local outgoing LAN requests http are allowed?
    2. any other suggestions about the configuration of router that prevent access to my network?
(using address filtering (by address mac camera only) MAC is worth, but I guess that the MAC address can be spoofed so not a complete solution)

However, when I tried to transfer it to my laptop, I see this video on the laptop from the list of the iPad. It shows and transferred everything that I took on the iPad (other shorter videos and pictures) just not the big one one. How can I transfer it? Help, please.

This seems to be a "feature".

  • With the help of WRT300N Wireless Router with a USB modem (satellite)?

Hey there!  I tried to find this answer in various places online, and I saw a few things that have led me to believe that this is possible, but nothing to explain as thoroughly as I'd like.  I have a N of Linksys WRT300N wireless router.  For the next few months, new home construction we do service by cable or DSL, so we use the Cricket's broadband Internet, which connects via a USB port (Cricket is a 3G network, managed by a cell phone company).

I'm trying to understand if there is anyway that I can connect internet Cricket USB to my computer, as usual, but then connect my router to the computer somehow so that I can distribute this wireless signal?  I'm having crazy to move the thing USB from one computer to another and would really like to connect my PS3 wireless signal, thus.

Does anyone have an idea how this could be done?  If so, could you explain to me what I need to do quite exactly?  I am running Windows Vista on this computer.  Thank you very much in advance for your help.  You're going to be spare me months with a value of pulling my hair out, believe me.

Yes you can do it, USB Modem not connecting to the computer, the computer must be connected to the Internet Port of the router and then it will give a Wi - Fi connection and...

To do this, you need to enable Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)...

Qwest is wrong. There are a number of manufacturers that make routers wireless with USB ports. This is a new trend.

D - Link makes this one. Unfortunately, it has been abandoned. Linksys makes this one.

Belkin makes one in this video.

  • Unable to connect to a wireless router with my laptop

It starts and then say that it s a unverified network and just say connect but don't make any progress, and the internet is still not functional

I m using the router without wire of 7mg eircom and is placed outside the door of the room of my bed with full strength.

It would be interesting to know what laptop you have.

  • Belkin G wireless router with packet loss

Hey im having a problem with my Belkin G Router wireless.  Sometimes, I need to plug allow a person with a laptop computer to connect to the internet, but as soon as I do, I become unable to find servers for online games.  When checking my connection on speedtest.net, I stumbled on Pingtest.net, I tried and found that I had a 88% packet loss.  I tried to configure to DMZ with no effect... What can I do?
Desktop Gateway W3650 all standard parts
    Wireless Belkin G F5D7234-4 v3 router
    Webstar DPC2100 modem

It works up until I plug the router

"Packet loss" is probably artificial due to the firewall of the router.  To check, go to http://192.168.2.1/ and click 'Firewall' on the left side and turn off.  Now try again, you should be getting 0% loss.  It worked for me.

You can enable it after checking.  I don't know that it actually reduces performance, it makes just hard to perform this test. ... I think so.

  • wireless router with built-in vpn client

It depends on. Most of the VPN routers (wired and wireless) will support a tunnel from gateway to gateway, i.e. you can connect your LAN to another LAN remote. You can define tunnels to multiple locations if needed. However, all the LANs - local and remote - must use unique IP subnets. You cannot connect a 192.168.1. * LAN a 192.168.1. * Remote LAN for example.

What is not possible is to connect via remote arbitrary router to connect a single computer to the Remote LAN, as you can do with the VPN client.

You don't need to install anything in your desktop PC. Wireless routers have ethernet ports you can connect to your PC with a cable.

  • my laptop has completed the automatic update of vista and after that I can't access wireless router with an ethernet cable only

My sony vaio laptop running windows vista has completed an automatic update and after that, I can't connect to my wireless network, I can access the internet with an ethernet cable.

It worked perfectly fine before the update, I know that there is a problem with what I had the same problem in the past. The way it's been solved previously was to restore the laptop to an earlier point before the end of the update. Unfortunately I can't do that and the laptop has been completed, wiped and there is no backup where I can go to restore.

I know I can remove some updates but don't know what 1, me it is another way to solve the problem.

Your help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hi Nadzarif,

You can try the following steps and check if it helps:

    Method 1:

Because the wireless stopped working after windows update, you can check the Sony support link and try to install the latest version of the drivers for the wireless card and check if it helps:

    Sony support

For more information, see the article:

    Update drivers: recommended links

    Method 2:

Updated version has a problem in the history of the update.

    Step 1:

You can check in the history of the update for the updates that are installed recently or before the show.

    a. open Windows Update by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type Update, and then in the list of results, click Windows Update.

    (b) in the left pane, click view update history.

    c. to display more information about an update, double-click it.

See the Windows updates are installed

    Step 2:

Uninstall recently installed updates and install the updates one at a time to understand what update is the cause of the problem.

  • Access point or wireless router

I'm looking for thoughts, opinions, facts, etc. on the best way to set up my home network. The House is relatively new and I cat5 wiring in most of the rooms with home runs to a structured in the basement wiring box. Have nearly 16 shots here. I have currently a linksys BEFSR81 router/switch, hubs, one couple and a Comcast cable modem there. On the second floor, is a wireless linksys WAP610N access, connected on one of the tracks cat5 in the basement. For customers, I have four wired pc which is a music server, couple Blu ray drives, three iPhones, iPad and an iTouch. The House is on two floors with a finished basement, ~ 5 000 total FT2 and construction wood. Right now, my wireless is uneven with him sometimes abandon no explainable reason (Wired is very well in those moments) and connect devices new wireless takes several minutes where it shows a signal but will not connect to Internet. I have read many bad reviews on the WAP610 and wonder if it's my problem. My son says I should get a wireless router with a separate switch to manage 16 wired ports and empty the WAP and BEFSR81. I have a great aversion to turn a unit of wireless streaming in a basement being the lowest part of the House. I move the cable modem and a new wireless router upstairs on the first floor and then run a return line to the basement for the 16 switch ports? Or just get a better/other WAP?

How would implement you? Sorry for the lengthy post.

If you do not have problems with the WAP610N you can of course use. You could start to buy only one additional access or wireless router and see how it plays along.

Concerning the choice of the E-series router, it depends on what you need. The WAP610N is a router dual-band which has a radio 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radio. If you want to keep the simultaneous dual band radios the cheapest option would be the E2500. There only the ethernet 10/100 ports.

If you don't want the dual band, the E1x00 could do. But remember, those who only works on the 2.4 GHz band and depending on where you live, you can already see a lot of other people with 2.4 GHz band routers, so you will have a lot of interference on the 2.4 GHz band...

Of course, dual-band single-band vs depends also if you still have the 5 GHz band devices, or plan to get one.
