  If there are problems with the implementation at day then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version and remove the Firefox program folder to remove all remaining files.

  Download a new copy of Firefox and save the file to the desktop.

FF always says I have v2.06 VLC and I 'vulnerable' but the VLC software shows that I have v2.08 which is the last. Java is now properly recognized and are more marked as in need of update.   I know that VLC has a problem that they don't update their file serving the Firefox plugin, and I'm not sure Java but you can check the licensing of Java on trusted sites.
