ignore startup items

I remember that (in the era OS9) Mac could be started without loading/opening the startup items (in the list defined by the user) by pressing a combination of keys at startup.

Every morning my Mac starts automatically with the main programs I use during the day (Mail, Safari, Soho, Photoshop, Agenda, Contacts etc.).

Sometimes, when I closed the system overnight and I me remember I forgot to send a mail to the beginning-upI must wait until the Mac has traveled the entire procedure once again, while I only need mail for a few minutes.

Is there a key combination that takes care of jump startup items.

I couldn't find one in all sorts of help files and apple-docs.

I read somewhere that the shift would work, but try this, gave me a (very slow) progress at the start bar.

It took Mac about 10-15 minutes to run through the starting procedure; not exactly what I was looking for.

In addition, the iMac feels slow after this last 'experience '.

I don't think that there is a way to do it quite the way you want to, just for a start:

Automatically re - open windows and applications, as well as documents on your Mac - Apple Support

Now the SHIFT key at startup under OS x starts in Mode safe mode, which disables certain features. He also manages a directory check, that's why it took so long to start.

Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning (formerly: what is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?) (Mac OS X)) - http://support.apple.com/HT201262 - "You can use safe mode to help you solve any problems that might keep your Mac to boot completely."

Secure boot takes longer than normal startup - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1884 is no longer available

  • Startup items lost and won't start not

    Hello!

I used El Capitan 10.11.1 and everything was ok. Before moving to 10.11.2, I had 4 apps like startup items on my account:

    -Dropbox

    -Clean my mac 3

    -Moom

    -Macs fan control

After upgrading to 10.11.2, only of Dropbox is still to go. The behavior is baffling to me. I'll try to explain it.

I opened the apps that have been lost as startup items. I put them to run at startup of mac under applications settings. When I restart the Mac OS X, restart the application, but the startup option in the Mac OS X startup is lost (if I go to the settings that the box is unchecked, if I look on the startup items, that the application is not). Of course, if I don't put it once again, the applications will start during the next reboot. So, this means that, after adding an application as startup item, only starts at the next restart, then is lost.

The same thing happens if I add the apps manually as startup items instead of through the settings of applications.

Thanks in advance for your answer.

I have a problem with the internet, not loading pages, internet options opens, very slow computer and the gel to the top. I uninstalled IE and reinstalled. I can now go into internet options, then on the first page I load on IE opens, but goes no further.  I ran virus and anti-malware and it found Trojans.  Free of all this, but noticed that when I go into msconfig, selective startup, load startup items box is grayed out.  Given that the system always works slowly and still the problems with IE, I wonder what else could be wrong? How can I get the Startup box load so I can check or uncheck it?

    Hi Sirenfire,

    · What is the antivirus installed on your computer protection software?

    · What version of Internet explore?

1/for the problem related to Internet explorer, follow the steps from the link below: Internet Explorer is not responding, stops working, or restarts:http://support.microsoft.com/gp/pc_ie_intro

Also run the fix of the below link which will help you improve performance and security in Internet Explore:http://support.microsoft.com/mats/ie_performance_and_safety

    2. It also seems that the virus on the computer was not completely removed, I suggest you for online virus scanner:http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm

If the Startup load item is grayed out, the startup group has been customized at any given time. Click on the Startup tab above and save the startup checkees items

  • How can I delete a startup item in the Configuration of the system

After startup, a message appears indicating that a startup item is not found

And it's why giving information about the error messages, etc. is important. This file comes from the MyWebSearch toolbar, which is malware. Screensavers from screensavers.com and freeze.com places are not really free. They come with toolbars, many of which are malware. Away from sites like this. So probably only got MyWebSearch partially installed. Run a quick scan with the free version of MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware which will get rid of him for you.

  • MSConfig does not display the item (by default) startup under HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. Bug creates the feat of malware to hide the user startup items, msconfig.

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

I came across this, after being attacked by malware. In general, I use MSConfig to disable all startup items when troubleshooting an attack and attempt to regain control of the system. MSConfig lead me to believe I had disabled all startup items, but he fails to show or disable the (default) entry to the registry key above. Indeed, it's an exploitable bug that is currently used by malware developers to hide from end users, armed with MSConfig. As a side note, CCleaner has the same problem. The only solution is to change the value directly using RegEdit (clear).

Long story short say, I just refresh my PC because it is having problem at the start of the system.

After having updated the system and install a few programmes and I realized the BOOT parameters (Task Manager > startup) indicates "there is no startup item to display. I mean, it's crazy isn't?

Someone help, please help, what can I do to make the START to return to normal settings?

    Thank you in advance!

Having the same problem.  The 'start' in the Task Manager tab is empty, even though I checked that there are indeed elements in the key of HKCU\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run as well as in HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run key.

For some reason any the Task Manager no longer shows nothing in the Startup tab.

I've learned since this tab can be quite finicky.  For example, delete the startup of your local directory of programs folder can cause to return empty.

    I had deleted this folder:

    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Once, I restored the folder, the start in the Task Manager tab started working again.

  • What are these startup items and are they harmful

    Hello

I have a M55-S325. I noticed a few items on my list of startup in the System Configuration utility

    TCtrlIOhook.exe
    TPSMain.exe
    Ltmoh.exe
    AGSMMSG.exe
    Apoint.exe
    TFncKy.exe

So my Question is what are and are they harmful
If so how do I remove them.
    Help, please

    Hi David,

The items you listed are real items used by your operating system, although they can be stopped if you want without making any real damage. This will largely depend on if you want to use all functions in which they are involved.

For example, TCtrllOhook.exe and TPSMain.exe are associated with the Toshiba power management utility.

Ltmoh.exe and AGRSMMSG.exe are you installed the modem.

Apoint.exe is associated with you pointing device (Touchpad or other).

TFncKY.exe is related to the function of function keys of Toshiba.

Of course, if you do not use your internal modem then the modem associated elements can be stopped without any bad Effect, even Toshiba function keys.

    Kind regards

  • Where in addition to msconfig startup items can be reactivated to?

    My Samsung RV510 laptop running 64-bit MS7HP.

He always has a certain unwanted started processes that are disabled in msconfig.  And some that are not yet listed in msconfig.

Where can you find where they are controlled?

To identify what loads when you start using Autoruns (freeware from Microsoft).
    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902

With Autoruns, you can deselect an item which disables startup, or you can click with the right button on an item, then remove it. If you clear the check box that you can check back for re - activate the element. It is an approach much safer than editing the registry and better than using msconfig.

A useful feature of the program is that you can click with the right button on an item and select search online to get information about the selected item.

    Hello everyone!

I need help in the Organization of my startup list:

(Why should Toshiba button support I this program if my laptop doesn't have multimedia keys? OR maybe this program for something else?)
ItSecMng (although I have disabled the Bluetooth Manager to run when starting from this point still remains in the startup)
Agent of filtering of Audio Conexant high definition (what is this program? Do I really need to start?)
    TOSHIBA Power Saver
    Toshiba Flash Cards
    RAID event monitor

So, my friends. Could you give a valuable suggestion whether or not it is prudent to disable startup above entries? I want to speed up my laptop at the highest possible level.

Thanks a lot for your time!

    Kind regards
    Osman.

    My laptop:
Toshiba Satellite Pro A300-15V (PSAJ5E) => NOT have multimedia keys except the FN keys.

    Hi Osman,

Akuma wrote, all processes are needed, such as Conexant sound, Support Button and Flash cards for FN keys and illumination.

Don t do worry about these programs, everything is ok and that they are necessary for your laptop.

If you want to improve performance, disable other programs you don't need and defragment your HARD drive at any time.
