Illustrator for graphics

Hello

I'm new to graphic design and I started to learn Illustrator, in order to make computer graphics.
As I am looking at a huge tutorial Illustrator, what parts of it should I focus more on? (I'm going through the whole class, however)
Share form those who are important to you:
-selection tool
-Forms
-type
-color picker, dropper
-fonts
Also, can someone point me to some tips for beginners who want to create computer graphics?

Thank you very much
Cristian

I also did computer graphics that you won't find many in my wallet.

For the animated graphics, you'll use Illustrator just to build the basic structure. The animation will be in AfterEffects, or with SVG tools, animate CC, JavaScript or other.

It is possible to use InDesign to animate, but since this isn't its fundamental task, it could get very difficult for complex animations.

  • Compared to Photoshop Illustrator for graphics

I am very new to Adobe software, and I'm a little confused on Photoshop works better than Illustrator for a particular application.

For example, I read in many places that Photoshop is better than Illustrator when it comes to designing user interface or web graphics, but my understanding is that Illustrator is a better tool to use for graphs that require a scaling of size. Monitors and mobile devices have densities a lot of different pixel and would require different size graphics. I think that Illustrator would be higher because of this because I could resize graphics without loss of quality in Photoshop, I could only evolve up to the original size. So why do people always say Photoshop is the top tool for web graphics and user interface design? Thanks in advance for the answers.

Traditionally, user interface design has been based pixel. With the screens of the retina and others, we enter a world of scale and I think many have not caught it again. Designers like tweaking pixel but they need to give up. I was witness to the confrontation of new vs old even when the newspapers have gone online and journalists tried to amend the text to fit well not understand that it is their own screen they've been optimizing.

  • What adobe software used for graphic design for a window display 24 grid?

    Hello

I know that in some case design allows you to fill your design goal of multiple programs and I think this may be a case. If you could help understand me what programs to use, I would be grateful.

I have a large window storefront system that is about 5 wide by 4 high Windows Windows. The client wants to display graphics to large through multiple windows. Can I use InDesign for illustrator for graphic design and page layout? or photoshop works better for page layout? I tried simply make a grid of boards of art in illustrator, but the boards of art beyond the canvas because they are so big and I don't know how to resize the drawing area.

No indication in this regard would be highly appreciated. Thank you very much!

I wonder if an application like vector Works or similar would be appropriate for building and displaying a prototype showcase?  In response to your question, you would be better of the scaling up to a manageable size in 'Illustrator '.  All your photographic images can be prepared in Photoshop and then placed in Illustrator for output.  The key here is to set the size of the print output device and proportionately reduce the overall project on this device.  Another thing to consider is how intend to present ideas that propose you.  Each panel separately or all together as a composite?  Looks like a great project.  Good luck as you move forward.  I see absolutely no reason to use InDesign, unless you are familiar with this application you are with Illustrator.

  • The help of illustrator for iOS graphic animations and frame (newbie question)

    Hey there,

I just want to get opinions and advice.

We develop a sidescolling 2D game and I created in illustrator 2D graphics,... so far so good, right now I have a few characters designed.

Now for the character poses, positions and framed by picture animations... hmmmm.

I've been looking for examples of ways to create movements of character and positions in illustrator, but as the still have not found good examples or explanations.

Would anyone care to share (or tell me some examples) workflow allows you to create different poses and positions using character illustrator...

(eg. should I import my work in flash to use the BONE tool?) Or do I have to create every variation in illustrator and copying my character and manipulation)

It's really up to you. Best practices depends on the specific animation that you generate. Whether semi automating your not frame-by-frame in Flash (using the functionality of the OS), or in Illustrator (using mixtures, effect change, etc. etc), seriously, I hope that the result is always being of tweens just on a frame-by-frame. In other words, even if I've not played with it (my interest in Flash is more on scripted animations), I doubt that the animation of bone resulting will be actually programmatic in the final SWF. I think it will be actually returned in the silent individual frames. (Check this should be fairly easy to do some simple tests and checking the size of the files.)

For example: even if a single was use BONES to animate the behavior of scanning with a dial indicator, I wouldn't with script, with a frame by frame. But if I wanted to do a connected movement of a series of related vertebrae using bone would likely benefit.

So, if the nature of your animation is such that the inverse kinematics is advantageous, (a series of several joints) using bones in Flash would be probably more convenient, easier to change after the fact and simplifies the effects of flexibility and decay. Otherwise, if it is a simple linear movement or change in shape, you could probably do as well in Illustrator.

Now, if the inverse kinematics (the real behavior of the BONES tool) may actually be interactive in the final SWF, it's a completely different thing.

Whatever it is, with the exception of works of art very simple, I would tend to draw the basic shapes in a drawing program, and not in the Flash authoring environment.

  • Illustrations for MMO

I would like to start a game of sprites and imagine a world for an MMO. Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to do it?

I have a ton of questions, for example

    1. Can you draw a big immage for part of the surface of your card and put tiles above in the code where your sprites work on everything should be tiles from the beginning?
    2. Is it OK to add effects in artificial intelligence, or to Flash
    3. We use the contours or is it better to use only the fillings
    4. What about using a flash framework - is it better to illustrate and code from scratch or to use an infrastructure and make illustrations necessary?

Tips, tools and tutorials will be great please!

    (1) illustrator is a tool of illustration, then it will create all the graphics you need, but for code, you need other software. To do this, it will depend on what media you want to play the game. I highly recommend that you look at unity3D.com it will load windows/Mac systems, Internet, IOS, Android, flash, WII, PS3 and Xbox 360. Note that some require a purchased license. I do not know than Windows, Mac and Web-based are included in the free version.

Suppose 2) if she is busy to do it in something other than Illustrator.

    (3) I would say it depends on what your comfortable doing so. Sometimes it makes sense doing a course and other times it's the opposite. You can start with charges for graphics, something that is quick to create, but can represent more than one object. For example, stick figures, they are extremely fast to create and they would represent any kind of person or an animal. I think that most start out with storyboards, rapid drawings that represent time, a bit like a mini film strip or a cartoon. Once the details are developed and maybe the pieces of code, and then add detailed graphics. But like I said, it's really you.

To print a story Board take advantage of bridge, select all images in sequential order and export under a Board contact in pdf format.

You can export each image as a square that you add a rectangle square around your image and then export it. I think you will find it a little easier to see where begins and ends each frame. While this is completely optional.

I tried to install the drivers for the graphics card (on the ATI site), but the X 600 SE is not mentioned. I have install the X 600 drivers but when I install the instalation process passes from the pass from 1 to 4, without installing drivers. I installed on my pc, the Microsoft driver, which causes a loss of quality in the games...

Can someone tell me if there are drivers from ATI for Tecra A4 (PTA40) for Windows Vista?

    Thank you

Have you already looked at the Toshiba Site for graphics drivers? The graphics card you're talking about is a mobile version, so you have the correct driver. And if ATI is not suitable on their site then toshiba driver is there.

    Marilyn,

Here is a thread on Topliners that can be useful, that it links out to other places as well.

Other than that, design for Eloqua on non-courriels (landing pages, etc.) is pretty standard. I'm sure there are others that sounds in here who have a design more experience.
