  • I am trying to load lightroom 6 from a disc and I get a message that it is not compatible with my windows vista except that I am running windows 7 with service pack 1

I am trying to load lightroom 6 (I needed updating because I bought a Nikon D750 and shoot in raw that apparently my old LR4 cannot read) and he gets to a point and then tells me that is not compatible with Windows Vista but I am running Windows 7 with service pack 1 on my computer (which (according to the box, it was compatible).  I'm not great with computer and I'm so frustrated right now because I don't know what to do.  Help, please.  Thank you

Should I turn off my Anti virus software is what could be stopping my updates? some sites would sugest that I use Kaspersky 2012, if that's the case, then why do all my other programs that are installed to date OK?

    Hello

Check your level of service current pack...

    • Hold down the Windows (between Ctrl and Alt) key and press Pause break
    • Examine what is listed in the system: section

If there is no service pack designated first level you must download SP2 from...

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=28

.. .and then run the downloaded program to install SP2.

Once you have done this, or if you were already in service pack 1, 1a or 2, then install SP3 by downloading and running from...

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=24

For both of the above, you can ignore the text that says it's for network installations and also ignore the text advising windows/microsoft update if a single update of a PC.

So try and get up-to-date with the Windows updates.

  • the presentation of the screen on my monitor is slightly off center with a thin black line on the left hand side. Ho can I fix this. I am running Windows 7 with a monitor Samsung SyncMaster SA10

The presentation of the screen on my new monitor is slightly biased with a thin black line on the right hand side which makes it awkward hitting the back button on the upper left side of the screen. How can I adjust this?  I am running Windows 7 on a new Compaq PC with AMD Vision and monitor Samsung SyncMaster SA10.

    Any suggestions to adjust welcome.

    Thank you.

The monitor must have menu on the side or the bottom buttons - in the find menu where you can adjust the horizontal position of the image.

Increasing or decreasing the horizontal value will move the image left or right. When it is centered properly, you can exit the monitors.

Original title: this computer is not running genuine windows...

So, I had this PC for about 3 years now, and even more. Since this computer was bought so long ago and not even by me, but my mother, I don't know where all the CD or have papers for it. However, I know for a fact that this computer IS running Windows. I've never had this problem before. It started to appear about 4 days ago. I read everywhere and I'm not entirely sure what I need to do about it because it seems that there are many different solutions to this problem. The only new thing I added to this computer was wifi. I added a TP-Link 450 Mbps Wireless-N dual band PCI Express Adapter. TL-WDN4800 model number. I had to open the computer, put it in and install the stuff that goes with it. I did about a week or two before this message starts to appear. I don't know if this could be the reason for the message «this computer is not running genuine windows...» "is displayed.

You can get your hands on a videocard GeForce 6200 AGP 128 MB or an ATI radeon 9600 128 MB AGP video card you will be able to run all the features of Windows 7, including Aero.

Your current graphics card is not able to DX9 and it is a requirement for the graphics of Windows 7 run as expected.

Have changed my log in details on BT to try to access my Yahoo and Windows mail, but can still access my mail.  Keeps put the connection box and when I enter the password, it says incorrect.  Driving me crazy.

Try to remove the account completely.  Then compact and repair the Windows Mail database (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).  Then, add the account back again and see if it works.  Make sure that check the Web site for e-mail account check that you have the correct settings.

  • Can I sync my folders on my laptop running Windows 7 with my desktop running XP above?

IWant to sync my folders between computers running 2 different versions of windows, 7 & XP, wireless.

    Hi JakSlo,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community and we have the opportunity to help you.

According to the description, it shows that you want to synchronize files between computers running different versions of Windows 7 and Windows XP.

You can use SyncToy 2.1 application to synchronize files between computers. See the link below:

SyncToy 2.1 is a free application that synchronizes files and folders between locations. Typical uses include sharing of files, such as photos, with other computers and create backups of the files and folders.

  • If I create a preinstallation of Windows 7 environment and run Windows Defrag with the switch/w, be it defragment files XP defragmentation analysis shows that "good behaviour"?

I'm trying to defragment all the last possible file on my hard drive.  I was quite the journey of optimization, learning of virtual disks, ReadyBoost, command line and optimization of registry TCP, swap file optimization (investment strategy) and now for anti-virus and defragmentation preinstallation environments.

I find it very difficult to get a defragmentation program to try to defragment files, he thinks that he can not touch.

I learned today how to create a 64 - bit Windows 7 PE with inclusion of work from the command line defragmentation file and wonder if it will cooperate with me or not.

And Yes, I know that some people balk at the idea of a no failure or PE defrag mode, but I insist.  There are too many files cannot be modified running in a normal Windows environment, as well as in a safe-mode start environment.

I learned the true benefits of defragmentation via the use of hard disks in very low yield (that is another story) and want to optimize my installation in my hobby of tinkering with the software.

What is the problem with that?

    Thank you very much.

    -TCKoerber

Personally, I'm not interested in the file of the page, I have more than enough ram, nore the mft. And any increase in the theoretical performance will have no impact on this system

There are third-party defrag programs with more options than the buit in defrag.
