iMac by cutting at random

Hey guys,.

so I have this weird problem. Sometimes, my iMac mid2011 (27, i7 to 3.4 Ghz, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD) randomly turns off and restarts, no error message, nothing. It's EXACTLY like them was a blackout, only he wasn't.

What makes this especially odd is:

-no reason whatsoever. Sometimes, it's at the start, it is sometimes after hours of trouble-free operation. Sometimes it's when many programs are held at the same time, sometimes when the processor just kick back and relax... you get the idea.

-Every single utility, be this disk utility or equipment checks you can make at startup increase no error and tell me everything that fact very well.

-He started with El Capitan and no not once, not always happened when I was running Windows 7 on the same Mac.

Especially the last point 2 leads me to believe that it is not a hardware problem, but a kind of system problem which pressed with the update of El Capitan, perhaps with my RAM since I use Kingston instead of apple RAM. Don't know, not an expert.

So, my question is this: someone has the same problem or has a solution? Has their been any official word on it? Thanks in advance!

  • iMac 27 "end 2013 - random stop

My iMac 27 "end of 2013 - have this problem to stop randomly, as power chord is out... randomly. I only can he start by plugging the power cable and wait for 5 minutes and then restarting it.

When I explored the forum it seems the problem until 2010, it is a shame that the problem persists on a such expensive iMac after all these years and apple is unable to provide a definitive solution.

My machine is less than a year, still under warranty, also under Apple Care, it took twice to the service center, here is the chronology of the events:

-They have reset the SMC, PRAM, re-installed OS during the first visit, the problem persisted

-Spent an hour on the phone support, yet once done a web-installation of the operating system, left ElCapitan to Yosemite, the problem persisted

-Took it once again, they have replaced the main Board... the problem still persists

I have read many theories online but no final solution. Here are some of the theories about what I found:
-RAM 16 GB the origin of the problem... but mine is 8 GB

-All slots of RAM is full... but mine has only 2 slots filled

-It happens that the i7... but mine is a machine of i5

-Could be because of the UPS, not having is not a good sinusoidal signal... wondering how to properly test it!

Someone has encountered this problem and solved definitely... Please help, as I am losing confidence with the ability to engineer Apple to fix it... Wow! This seems strange, isn't it, most innovative and most valuable world company is unable to fix a common issue that many customers are faced with... and we lose confidence with them.

I am in Bangalore in India, also need to check on the rights of consumers on this, any entries on this help because I think I deserve a replacement for the defective product. If it was the United States, if it is a lemon (take to solve the same problem 3 times)... even the cars is not replaced. Wonder how this works here. The lawyers on this forum?

Fellow fans of Apple and mac fans (I'm one too!) Please help.

  • My iMac keeps crashing randomly.

Since the installation of the last update to El Capitan my iMac 2011 has been randomly (not to mention terribly frustrating!) crashes. The system reboots, but the downtime with these accidents is to destroy my workflow.

The first attempt to update unusable machine. Support Apple recommends a clean install as download may have been corrupted. After return to Lion, I managed to rebuild the system to the current version of El Capitan, but these accidents persist began almost immediately.

Several system tests have shown no failures in any hardware on the system. A trip to my local Apple store for an intermediate test again showed flawless. I tested the software that I use regularly and found no obvious cause it.

Accidents are completely random and varied on the number of daily. The machine lasted more than 48 hours without fail after my trip to Apple. But since the beginning of this morning he broke down twice.

Everybody out there this trouble? The machine worked perfectly up to this point

Wait until the Mac stops unexpectedly, and then check your system.log file to identify the numeric code associated with the stop. Read below.

Locate the Console application - it is located in your utilities folder and looks like this

You can find it by selecting utilities in the Finder go menu.

    Open the Console.

If the list of newspapers on the left column is not already displayed, view journal list by selecting view list of newspapers on display menu of the Console.

Locate system.log in the list, and then select it. Many date and time-stamped entries will appear, hundreds of them, and you need to find the relevant entries to your Mac problem.

Do that type the word cause stop in the field filter on the top right of the Console window.

Who will do all the log entries be hidden, except for entries that contain these words. There will be a numeric code associated with the entry of journal from «Cause of previous stop» What is this code?

  • All new iMac 5K random restarts

I'm a Mac "veteran" (since 1994) user, but the recent behavior of my iMac end 2015 27 "5 K told me at the end of my piece:

After initial installation and configuration, the iMac just started rebooting randomly during the night. (It remained always off, never sleep.)

The only "smoking gun", I could find was the following:

localhost kernel [0]: cause of previous stop:-128

I talked to AppleCare a couple of times, my case has since been pushed up on their level 2 support. So far - no solution found.

Here are the things I've tried (I think that I have...):

    • Reset the SMC
    • Reset the PRAM
    • Most threaded the LaunchAgents and LaunchDemons
    • Re-installed Mac OS X 10.11.3
    • Implemented a new white 'test' user and restarted in Mode safe
      • Even in the 'Safe' Mode, strange things happen: after the rest (as a user 'test') for a day of two, the iMac "crashes" i.e. the screen remains empty and mouse or keyboard or "Power On" button on the back of the iMac are able to wake up the machine.
      • Also in 'Safe Mode' I get these trucks:
[watchdog_daemon] @(wd_daemon_init) - could not open connection with the watchdog of the kernel

Short of "nuking & paving" the machine, has anyone got any ideas of what might help?

Or it sounds like a hardware bug?

    Any help appreciated,

    Greetings from Berlin,

    Jan

Mine does exactly the same thing. Often during the night when it is idling. I only had the machine about 2 weeks.

  • iMac restarts after sleep

Problems lately with my iMac 27 "5 K. After putting to sleep, it is restarts after about 2 hours.  If I wake up it before that date, it is usually very good. But after 2 hours, it restarts. Sometimes, I find it just be stopped. Most of the time when it restarts itself, it crashes with this gray bar filled about 80% progress.  I have reset the PRAM and EMS, checked all the settings in power management (not set to restart after power failure for example).

Another problem I 'bypassed' which may or may not be related (I'm including in case it is related) is that on El Capitan, my magic trackpad would randomly wake the iMac.  I had to disable the option to allow devices BT wake up the Mac. When I upgraded to Sierra, the iMac still wake up randomly due to an event of BT. After a lot of trial and error, activate the option "allow bluetooth to computer devices" back prevented the wake-ups at random and let me wake up the computer again deliberately with the trackpad.  Very strange.

In any case, I'm usually pretty ingenious to resolve this sort of thing myself, but the Console to Sierra news is terrible. Or maybe it's the system logs that are terrible, because I can't find anything about the causes of previous judgment that might provide a clue as to what is happening here.

So, any advice on how to solve the problem or at least to determine the causes of the previous stop would be greatly appreciated!

  • Satellite Pro A100 PSAACE just cut off completely

Everything was in working order last night. Today when I tried to use my laptop in the University, after awhile the laptop just cut off completely (not 'window stops', literally just cut off). At this point I noticed was the charge indicator not illuminated.

So I checked that it was in the form correctly and everything was connected, who he was, but still no joy. I think it is maybe that my charger is dead on me.
But I'm not positive, as when I remove the battery and reinsert it, the "power connection" comes on, even if the charge light.
I could put my laptop then reinsert the battery, but it would be cut at random (probably because she have relatively no power left in it).

Does anyone know if that means anything?
When it is on, but not connected to a power supply when you move the battery icon... He thought it was still connected to a power source (if I had the power cord in or out of the laptop).

Sorry if this seems obvious to some, just I would prefer not to buy a new charger to see that there is a problem with the socket on the back of my laptop, or a problem with the laptop battery etc. If you unplug your laptop, then remove and reinsert the battery, it lights the led "connection voltage?

Hope to hear some reviews soon, that could help me cope with my laptop troubles.

    Thanks for reading,

    Hello

Simply put your laptop turns off automatically. Is this good?

Well, for me it sounds a little like the laptop stopped automatically to prevent material damage due to a temperature high.
Perhaps this was caused due to overheating.

This can occurs if the modules of cooling don t work properly and can not cool with a maximum return. Generally, this is related to dust and debris blocking the cooling fans.

This happened to me too many times there... I cleaned the cooling fan using a jet of compressed air and it helped.

Maybe you should check this too...

  • Windows 7 Audio skip/cutting

Hello, I have been using Windows 7 on this PC for over 2 years now, but I have very recently started having problems with my audio cutting out randomly. The problem comes immediately after the start and is usually after a few hours of use, usually once I'm in a PC game or listening to music. The audio will cut in and out frequently once it starts, and what I'm listening becomes unintelligible due to cut. My temporary solution is to reboot, which gets rid of the problem for a few hours.

The problem persists, all programs, which means that it is not only in games, or only on YouTube, etc. It is quite irritating that I stop what I do to reboot and hope the problem goes away. I did a lot of research and have yet to find a solution. I thought it was my audio drivers, and I didn't know that they were obsolete, so I've updated them, but the problem persists. I guess that the problem has something to do with my use of the CPU, since it happens only a few hours after I start my PC.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Audio playback takes usually one deferred "back seat" to other processes deemed most important by the system. I suspect that your system is running several programs more than actually necessary background for normal operation. I suggest that you start in a "clean boot" environment and if the problem did not reassert itself, start watching substantive programs which have been disabled and decide that you do permanently without.
