IMac, gel

My iMac running el capitan 2011 keeps freezing on a black screen, sometimes blue. I then shut down and restart, but he'll be back to restart to halfway through start he made this constantly until I have press and hold the power button to turn it off. If I start in safe mode and use disk utility first aid, I can then starts normally, but after a few days the iMac freezes again and will not initialize properly. Someone has ideas of the problem and a solution?

• iMac freezes

I submit a question just now on my iMac gel, and I send more information to help you determine the cause. The comments, I had was that the ram was to blame because at the time I had only 4 GB.

I've since upgraded. First I bought 8 GB OWC and then discovered Crucial and got another 8 gb (I checked them both, and they are suitable)

One crucial came first however and I installed it and the machine was faster, no real problem. This may be due to something else, but I suspect.

Then the next delivery arrived and I installed which and within hours, I had the same problem again.

The cursor moves, but the computer will not any interaction through the mouse or keyboard, so I have to restart it and its business as usual, how long that I suspect, depends on what I'm doing.

There is no other obvious signs of freezing like a wheel that rotates.

I suspect that it is when I use Adobe products, because when I have not, I don't have too many problems.

Unfortunately I can't avoid using Adobe.

Can anyone help?

The report states:

Macintosh HD (disk0s2) /: 999,35 go-go (775,69 free) - 111 errors

Drive failure!

This means that your HD needs to be replaced. Your report also indicates that you do not have a Time Machine backup, before you do ANYTHING backup computer while you can still use an external HD. You can use Time Machine ( use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac - Apple Support ) or you can use an application such as Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper to create a bootable clone.

You have installed CleanMyMac3 which is considered to be Malware! After backing up your computer, contact the developers of CMM and ask for instructions on how to uninstall the App. Follow the instructions to the letter and uninstall applications. Then run an another report EtreCheck and carefully read any supporting the MWC.

Your report indicates you have installed adware. After you've had the HD replaced (no you should not do it yourself), restore your backup and then follow the instructions to stop advertising windows pop-up and adware in Safari - Apple Support to remove the adware you have installed.

In short, your computer is a mess.

Go forward, NEVER install antivirus or cleaning apps or utilities maintenance party. At are not necessarily the best, and at worst can create a mess of your system. If you follow these simple rules, your system must be running reliable for years:

• Late 2009 iMac Sierra gel & incomplete close

Hi all

I did a clean install of Sierra on my iMac late 2009, 3.60 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, the 12 GB of RAM, a 1 TB drive, ATI graphics card. Everything seemed to happen. Now, I have two problems:

1. at least twice daily than the iMac just hangs. The mouse moves, but can not select anything. Cmd - Tab will not pass applications. Keyboard does not respond. All I can say is that I always Mail, Safari, & Open Office 4.1.2 running. Have to hold the power button to turn off and restart.

2. at the end of the day, when I stopped, the process is not finished and I just get a black screen (computer for desktop is black, but the items on the desktop are not visible), with the only docking station. Still, the only way out seems to be to hold down the power button to turn off.

Anyone else having these issues? Is it that I can save for a clean install of Yosemite that worked perfectly before?

Many thanks in advance,

gimbers

• New iMac with El Capitan gel

I bought a new iMac 21.5 3 months ago, with an upgrade to 16 GB of RAM. Within the first week, he started to run slowly and kept freezing. It got worse as the weeks went by. I got to my local Apple store where a diagnostic equipment is made, no defect found. The Genius Bar offers a complete re-installation of software, which has been done. The iMac continues occasionally to run slowly when on the Internet with Safari (it is better to use Firefox) and freeze until almost every day, the only way to make it work again is to turn it off and on again, by using the power button. For the record - I have not downloaded any software Mac cleaning or similar, or any other software/applications that have been suggested elsewhere that can cause this problem.

Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution? After 20 years of using Mac, I'm about to take this iMac back for a full refund, after losing confidence in this particular product. I have to say that all my previous iMac has worked flawlessly.

I am convinced that el Capitan is the problem.

1. Disable Extensions and test them.

Safari > Preferences > Extensions

Uncheck 'Enable the Extension' and test.

Enable the Extensions one by one and test.

To uninstall any extension, select it and click the "Uninstall" button

2 remove the test and com.apple.Safari.plist file.

Empty the trash.

Quit all applications.

Hold down the option key and click on the "Go" menu in the Finder menu bar.

Select 'Library' in the menu dropdown.

Library > Preferences > com.apple.Safari.plist

Right-click on it and select "place it in the trash.

Close the Finder window.

Turn it back on. Restart Safari.

If this does not help, "put back" the com.apple.Safari.plist

Right click on the trash icon in the Dock, then select 'open '.

Right-click on the com.apple.Safari.plist and select 'Put Back'.

Hard drive Western Digital 500 GB (black or blue, don't remember who I bought)

Most of the time, I can move the coursour. I can't click on anything that it put, comuter to sleep or do something else. Sometimes, the screen goes black. The only option is to force the closing down of my computer by pressing the power.

A few years ago I took it to my local apple dealer and they ran tests (I think they were testing for the graphics card, found nothing)

This happens especially when I just start the computer and try to open a folder or an application. This problem started when I upgraded to Leopard. I have used with the Tiger, but recently upgraded to El Capitan. It is preferable in this version on mac but happens several times a day.

I tried to install windows on it. Same thing.

A few years ago my hard drive failed and I changed it. I don't remember is the problem started before or after it. Less than a year after the purchase of my mac, the display has stopped working and it was replaced by the apple warranty.

What other information it takes me to solve this problem?

Update:

When I turn on my mac, the mac sound usually comes after 1-2seconds. Today, the noise began after about 5 seconds.

• 27 "imac late 2009 gel

Hello

I have an imac 27 "late 2009 with 16 GB of RAM which is constantly freezing. Later, I'll try to explain all the things I tried before this announcement:

• Start the computer, everything goes well and after a few minutes, the imac freezes: I can see the screen and move the mouse but the iMac does not. I stop and restart
• The two phases of boot, it only works the first: I see the Apple logo and progress bar until it reaches about half, disappears a moment, and instead of progress, it displays white screen.
• The next day begins, but after a few minutes, it does the same thing.
1. 1st attempt: reinstall the operating system with recovery
Choose the drive Macintosh HD and formatting
Computer is connected to an average installation
I turn it off, turn on, and complete the installation, but fails again once the operating system is running
2. 2nd attempt: check the RAM
Burn a CD memtest, alt to start, choose CD and passes the test properly without crashing
Reset and the same average progress of white screen fault bar
3. 3rd attempt: resets
Reset the SMC, no load
Reset the NVRAM, no-load
Boot in safe mode (the carillon and then capitalized) and start correctly
Reboot in normal mode and will not start

When I reset the SMC, instead of the white screen after flash in the middle of the progress bar, the apple logo reappears and the progress bar stays frozen

I read a lot of other posts and it seems that you need the journal of EtreCheck. I ran this tool twice (no problem - simply check and Apps are broken) since none of the profiles corresponding to my problem. Note that I had to run in safe mode because I'm not able to start normally. I don't know if this is a problem.

• Why is my iMac with a new drive hard gel?

My iMac is constantly freezing top/beachballing randomly (often when I'm only running Safari and browsing on Facebook). When I check the activity monitor, the main user is a task kernal. I can't understand what it is! I did a scan of EtreCheck and he found "failures" involving mainly Adobe. But I can't say what is causing these kernal task uses as well as constant accidents (daily). I have a brand new computer (less than 6 months) and a hard drive hybrid very new (one month) 4 t. I have three external drives connected via a hub USB (backup discs), so I don't know if that could be causing the problem. It is not material, because I had the computer for Apple three separate times and got the new hard drive. And of course, the problem can be reproduced by the technicians. Any ideas? My man repair said the last thing he can think to do is wiping my hard drive completely, then put it manually only the back files that I use. But this is not like a big challenge for me, especially if one of the files that I use is the cause of the problem. Help! Thank you. (I've posted this earlier in response to another thread, but thought it might get more responses as a separate discussion.)

Please after the release of EtreCheck

<https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6174>

<http://etrecheck.com>

so we can see it.

The kernel_task is the heart and soul of Mac OS X. Often called the kernel of the operating system. The ILO is the lowest level of the software on the system. It is in control of everything. Planning tasks, manages memory, performs i/o asked, etc...

You can try to start in safe mode

<http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1564>

It's just an experience, but it will NOT load one of the additions of 3rd party, you can have on your system. If things are more stable in safe mode, it is a strong indication that there is some 3rd party additions that by interfering with your Mac.

• iMac screen Corruption and gel

My iMac late 2009 El Capitan 10.11.2 running Gets the corruption of the screen and freezes. None of the buttons work, but the mouse still moves. The only solution is to reboot. Now it is reliable if crush every 5 minutes or more. Safe mode doesn't fix it. See the image of corruption. No idea what it would be appreciated.

You should run the Apple Hardware Test Disc two of the grey TV original installation, see if it reports a failure.

• Compatible logic for iMac G4 800 mhz 15 '' advice

I have a model of non-working iMac G4 15 ", 800 mhz, 256 MB, 60HDD that I acquired recently. The seller said the power supply to the motherboard and the power are bad, but everything else is fine including the 15 "lcd monitor. There are various imac models g4 and I was wondering which are compatible with mine. A 17 "/ 800 mhz will work?" A 700 mhz/15 "will probably work? What the 1 GHz/17 model "?"

You will appreciate all help. Thank you.

Unfortunately, these are among the most notoriously difficult to replace logic boards. Other problems include the fact there is a factory specific tool that's hard to find to adjust adjustable chrome stand the LCD is connected to and it is very difficult to put back together without fraying the wires in this pass, or make sure that the neck becomes too loose. Mentions not there is a balance of cooling gel, and existing buffers that can if installed wrong can lead to overheating of the machine. The only motherboard model, that can work, is simultaneously published 700 Mhz model. The CPU on this model is too slow to use the iDVD delivered versions were compatible with the model, if the DVD drive would be probably better served by a CD - RW drive at 800 Mhz instead, or Combo drive unless all you want is to burn data DVDs and not to make your own movies. http://www.lowendmac.com/ and http://www.ifixit.com/ have a lot of relevant information as well as http://www.everymac.com/

• My iMac opens on the purchased applications and I can't get out

MY iMac has opened on my purchased apps page and I can't get out, there is not even an icon I can close with, help please

Hello, Debraspace!

Looks like you have a few problems out out of the section of the App Store on your Mac purchase. I know that this is not a fun experience when the software does not work as expected, but not to worry, we can help you get this issue with the App Store sorted.

The easiest and fastest, way to address problems with the gel on your Mac applications should start by forcing this app to close, and then reopen. To force the App Store to close, follow these steps:

To close an application normally, choose leave in the application menu in the menu bar, or press command-Q. If an application does not respond, you can force it to close it using the Force to leave:

1. Choose force quit from the Apple menu, or press Command-Option-Esc.
This is to press Ctrl-Alt-Delete on a PC.
2. Select the application does not respond within the window to leave, then click on force quit.

Force a nearby application on your Mac.

If the App Store always gives you problems after the reopening, force quit the application again. Hold down the SHIFT key while you open the App Store once more. Now shift while opening an application on your Mac temporarily that will prevent the app to reopen its documents and windows. If the problem persists for now, the best next step would simply restart your Mac. To do this, select the  in the upper left corner of your screen, then select "restart."

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

Take care!

• Apps get beachballed one after the other on the new iMac. Help with my log files?

Hey guys, thanks for reading this.

Every day, a beachball appears when you something for on El Capitan. Could not get it to a specific action. One day he could write an email the other day, while in iCal, Photoshop, after a spotlight search. I need hard close the iMac with the button on the back.

In this case: a beachball is displayed once I did something. When an application is "beachballed", the application no longer leads, I can switch to other applications, just to beachball them as well. It's like a contagious disease. In some applications before the beachball is "taken by the infection", I can do things, just to be beachballed shortly after.

One thing that never works opens the top menu left apple to close the iMac. It won't just open but shows the beachball.

Nice surprise here, new iMac, 32 gig RAM, last update of El Capitan.

After a few crashes, I went in spotlight preferences and checked all items to spotlight indexes no more nothing. I thought that it might help, but apparently it didn't. It's newspapers since the last crash:

• 2011 27 "iMac running very slow - please help

Hello, I know it's an old computer, but it makes no sense as to why it is slow. When I got it, it was fast as lightning, now he struggles to keep Chrome and Photoshop open at the same time. I have reset the PRAM and SMC a couple of times, no results. The fans do not run particularly fast, and it's never really too hot. It's very slow start as well, and most of the time that I hesitate to open anything at startup for 5-10 minutes for fear of this gel horribly.

OS X Yosemite

10.10.5 version

iMac (27 inch, mid 2011)

Processor Intel Core i5 at 2.7 GHz

4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 memory

AMD Radeon HD 6770 M 512 MB graphics card

I'm free to Go 602,21 Go 999,35. Is not as if he reaches its peak to storage, and it's not as if it was a bad computer. Checked for anti-virus, so nothing has jumped to the top. Love insight as to why this iMac has become a potato.

Thank you

scripttion

Please download and run a report of EtreCheck and then copy and paste the results into your answer.

https://etrecheck.com

That should reveal the reason why your Mac is slowing down.

Otherwise, it's just a guessing game.

Personal data is shared in the report

One thing you can try since it is slow to start. Open System Preferences > users and groups > login items. Delete a connection point at the time, and then restart your Mac to test.
