iMac specs for graphic design

Hello

I'm looking to upgrade to an iMac 27 "with the 5K retina display. Im a graphic designer by day. It includes video editing, photo editing and some other processes quite heavy. I'm looking for some advice. IM thinking the the 4.0 GHZ i7 with 16 GB of ram and 4 GB video card.

I wanted to just make sure that 16 GB of ram and video card of 4 GB set at level is necessary. The ram should be good from my understanding. I wanted to check on the 2 GB to 4 GB. I have a Nikon D750 and shoot with that and my ghost 3 dji advanced quadcoptee for photos and videos. No advice and no information would be useful. The best buy sales guy told me just says 2 GB is enough, but it doesn't seem like him reading some forums and helpful advice on apple's site.

See you soon!

Edit: I have a macbook 15 inches of 2011 which has been running Adobe CS6 and now creative cloud. Recently, he took to always for my photos and applications to open it. I just want something more suitable for the process that I am running without basically put my MacBook to death.

RAM is scalable user and it's cheaper than buying the RAM from Apple. The upgrade, it is just a 5-minute process. This means buy computer th with the base 8 GB and then buy RAM from a source reliable as OWC (www.macsales.com) or critical (direct purchase) and increase the RAM yourself. Video cards can never be upgraded so get what you need. In addition, buy an SSD based machine, the largest capacity, you can afford.

Finally, consider getting a refurbished Apple iMac in order to save hundreds of dollars. These are practically as good as new, have the same warranty as the new and are identical for new. In short there is no downside.

  • What adobe software used for graphic design for a window display 24 grid?

    Hello

I know that in some case design allows you to fill your design goal of multiple programs and I think this may be a case. If you could help understand me what programs to use, I would be grateful.

I have a large window storefront system that is about 5 wide by 4 high Windows Windows. The client wants to display graphics to large through multiple windows. Can I use InDesign for illustrator for graphic design and page layout? or photoshop works better for page layout? I tried simply make a grid of boards of art in illustrator, but the boards of art beyond the canvas because they are so big and I don't know how to resize the drawing area.

No indication in this regard would be highly appreciated. Thank you very much!

I wonder if an application like vector Works or similar would be appropriate for building and displaying a prototype showcase?  In response to your question, you would be better of the scaling up to a manageable size in 'Illustrator '.  All your photographic images can be prepared in Photoshop and then placed in Illustrator for output.  The key here is to set the size of the print output device and proportionately reduce the overall project on this device.  Another thing to consider is how intend to present ideas that propose you.  Each panel separately or all together as a composite?  Looks like a great project.  Good luck as you move forward.  I see absolutely no reason to use InDesign, unless you are familiar with this application you are with Illustrator.

  • Best monitor for graphics

Would love to hear what everyone uses for graphic design with printing/editing in mind. I am new looking for monitors.

Unfortunately, it is a very subjective topic. It also gets stale quickly too, as the new monitors are always happen. You can search the Internet for information on computer screens video editors want to use especially. Here are some examples for beginning 2013:

Many publishers as the HP Dreamcolor, here is an article that describes how to set up.

Many video editors pro uses a second 'critical color' broadcast monitor for classification and putting in place the best broadcast signal. Why?

    • A computer screen won't show interlacing.
    • A computer screen cannot be properly calibrated for the broadcast.
    • A computer monitor may not show an accurate representation of the framerate (for example to change a sequence of 24 p while controlling 29.97).
    • Without a monitor, you can not accurately gauge quality (for the scaling, etc.).

I'd take a peek at Photoshop or Illustrator.

Photoshop is a pixel based image editing program that is well suited for creating and editing digital images, especially photographs.

Illustrator is a vector program that is great if you want to create vector graphics based that you can scale up without loss of resolution, for example, a logo.

What you choose really depends on your needs and knowledge if you create bitmap images or vector.

  • How to place licensed for "ADOBE DESIGN STANDARD" of iMac, Macbook Pro?

I'm currently approved for 'ADOBE DESIGN STANDARD' on an iMac. I have a new MacBook Pro and you want to use instead of the iMac. Should I get a new license key? or?

I know that I can download a copy of "eval" on the cell phone, but how to move license keys? I don't know yet I have still the license key (valid) for the iMac... can I ask another?

As long as you stay in the same general platform (PC vs Mac), you don't need to change the license.  You are allowed to have two facilities activated with your license, so you should be able to install on your new computer without having to worry about the other oldest at all (unless you never want to release the second activation for yet another machine).  As you said, you can download the trial version and use the serial number of your purchase to activate it to use fully.

If you registered your software with Adobe, the serial number should be available through your Adobe account online.  If you don't enter it then you at least will understand why it is profitable to do so.

IF you end up needing to solve problems with the activation of the product on the new machine, you will need to communicate directly with the Support from Adobe.  Here are some links to help get in touch:

  • Student graphic designer - which Mac?

    Hey everybody!

I'm a university student who has two years left in front of her. My laptop is almost the end of his life, and I want to transfer via a certain type of Mac. I do a lot of design work, and as tempting as an iMac, I need it to be portable for my graphic design work of campus.

So I guess that, to start: MacBook, MacBook Air or MacBook Pro? Research online, I have done so far, I still see talk about the MacBook Pro, but if there is a case to make for others I would be more than happy to hear them!

Taking the example of the good MacBook Pro, where should I go from there? Obviously being a student and hoping to eventually get an iMac on the road, I'm not looking for the most expensive thing out there (a big reason why I'm looking for a 13 inch instead of a 15-inch.. but I would like to though), so even if I hope it would be a little cheaper than that, lets just use like $1,500 as a max.

When I think about my use of the laptop, what I really use it is Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator (when I hope that this new Mac so I will seek to get the creative cloud), Microsoft Office, Chrome and Spotify. So what should I search for storage and Memory-wise? What 128 vs 256 a big different in my case? What 8 GB vs 16GB of memory?

Sorry for all the questions, but if anyone has answers or other important supplements I should take into account when making the decision, I would really appreciate it! Thank you!

Consider getting the small screen, then adding a much larger external display (non-portable).

That allow you better portability and always give you a good amount of space on the screen once you have gotten to a workplace or your apartment or dorm.

  • Looking for graphics in my computer

Please how to locate graphic on my computer so that I can be able to do some creative designs, for example, design of cards etc?

Depends on the brand and model. On a desktop computer if the video connector is in the same group as USB, audio, network etc. then the computer has onboard graphics. This can be a bit restrictive as to what level of graphics, you can do although this can be mitigated by adding more memory if possible.

If the video is connected to a row of parallel slits 1 then it has a discreet card and would be able to more detailed work. If you like this, it would be possible to add a separate card.

A laptop has what it came with and almost always cannot be upgraded.

You don't have to "locate" the graphics, the software is functioning normally with everything that is installed. Just with good graphics devices, this will work better than with the poorest.

  • Eloqua material for graphic designers

I have a team of designers who want to learn more about design for Eloqua.  Are there recommendations for training or other materials that can benefit for graphic designers? GRA

    Marilyn,

Here is a thread on Topliners that can be useful, that it links out to other places as well.

Problems with the design of the HTML - Outlook emails

Other than that, design for Eloqua on non-courriels (landing pages, etc.) is pretty standard. I'm sure there are others that sounds in here who have a design more experience.

  • Illustrator for graphics

    Hello

I'm new to graphic design and I started to learn Illustrator, in order to make computer graphics.
As I am looking at a huge tutorial Illustrator, what parts of it should I focus more on? (I'm going through the whole class, however)
Share form those who are important to you:
    -selection tool
    -Forms
    -type
    -color picker, dropper
    -fonts
Also, can someone point me to some tips for beginners who want to create computer graphics?

    Thank you very much
    Cristian

I also did computer graphics that you won't find many in my wallet.

For the animated graphics, you'll use Illustrator just to build the basic structure. The animation will be in AfterEffects, or with SVG tools, animate CC, JavaScript or other.

It is possible to use InDesign to animate, but since this isn't its fundamental task, it could get very difficult for complex animations.

    Jim

Plug-Ins? They may be out there!

Ideally, Photoshop is the best answer.

But if you can save the PNG files with transparency you can easily design your own designs 'simple '.

Design any style 'Overlay' with transparency (Roses in my video screen), this applies to any print in the print as a graphical identity plate module.
